The cleanliness was questionable, and the biggest issue was the room: as a solo woman, I didn’t feel comfortable in a six-bed mixed dorm full of men. If a room is advertised as mixed, I would expect a more balanced setup, ideally half and half.

- We did not expect to take stairs after using the lift to reach our room, which was inconvenient with luggage.

The location is abosultely superb in terms of public transportation connections, it is situated extremly close to the central station and between two other major transporation hubs. Room and facitlities were more than decent so the price-ratio proportion is extremly good.

On the first day, we told the receptionist that we needed a female-only room. However, we were given Room 111, which was occupied by men. We went back to the reception, and the room was changed to Room 208, which was a six-person shared room and was fine.
During the night, we were disturbed twice. At 12:00 midnight, a man came to the room and said it was his room. At 1:30 a.m., another man came and said the same thing. We had to explain that it was a female-only room and ask them to go back to the reception. This made us feel very uncomfortable.
That night, I asked the receptionist if we could extend our stay for one more night. He told me the room was available, so I extended my booking online.
The next morning, when I informed the female receptionist about the extension, she told me that the room was occupied by a group and that we had to pack all our belongings and put them in the luggage room. This was very annoying because it changed our plans and wasted our time.
Later, we were given Room 216, but the room was dirty, which was very disappointing.
There was poor communication between staff, wrong room allocation, and cleanliness problems. I am not satisfied with the service and kindly ask you to review this matter.

I stayed two nights as a single traveler in my own room here in February, its very close to the Hauptbahnhof which was very convenient, no problem leaving luggage before or after checking in or out, staff was helpful, room was clean and heated so basically all I needed, personally didn’t experience any noise at night from other travellers so my stay here was quite comfortable

They've let me check in at 4am, since that's when I arrived in town, which meant a lot. The not so great score and reviews this place has on Booking was the reason I avoided it during my past visits to Vienna, but I finally gave it a go since I needed to be near Hbf, and I can tell you that the scores do this place much harsher justice than it deserves... In fact the thing I didn't like and was disgusted by comes not from a place, but from the people who don't know how (or want) to keep the bathroom clean after them... So I can't give the place a low score because of it. The rooms are a bit strange (4 bed mix) meaning that the beds are stacked close together while the other half of the room (and maybe more) is almost empty (they could have just separated 2 and 2 bunks to give the people more privacy and space)... The usb charger attached to my bed was not working (or it has to be switched on somehow, which I didn't know how to do) but I used the classic socket at the other side of the room... Despite all those things my stay was great, so solid 9 from me! ?

I asked at the front desk and was told there was nowhere to store luggage. After checking in, I passed by the luggage room and found the door open and it was full.
It was incredibly disappointing. The room was also poorly soundproofed; I could hear other rooms closing their doors, and there were people making noise in the courtyard late at night.

The only good value of this property is it is closed to bus stations thats it
There was nothing to like about it, staff aren’t helpful at all, too much noise all the time of day and night - it appears as you are in a big zoo

The bathroom mirror had a second magnifying mirror on it. With a light! Fantastic. Very good location for the hostel, probably why there are so many in the area.
Dirty, dirty, dirty. Floors unclean, hairs in a "freshly cleaned" bathroom, __stains on the sheets__. Hallways, stairwells, everything was in poor shape. Room had very limited furniture . Not even a hook for jackets or hanging things. One table for 6 people, though room was good-sized. The charger at the bedside didn't work. The room was dark... lightbulbs didn't light up fully. The halls echoed with men literally doing gymnastics against the floors and walls. Very hands off approach to everything. It felt like basic training accommodations. Staff were helpful with an issue. I tolerated it for one night. Then moved.

The location is excellent, the central train station is at 5min walk which makes it very convenient to take public transports and cover every location in the city within a few minutes.
The cleaning services should improve urgently, supposedly there's a cleaning/housekeeping service which we've booked as per the hotel instructions, however the cleaning team just didn't show up to do the service. The breakfast is definitelly not worth the price. The staff is mainly composed by kids with little experience and sometimes lacking common sense (e.g. staff policing which type of bread is being toasted, etc.)

Room was great, and I was lucky to get a non bunk-bed in. The shared room. Traveling for so long in hostels, this is a luxury. Bathrooms were clean and nice.
The rooms don't have any air-conditioning and the windows don't open fully, so it was very hot. We had only 1 tiny table fan, which the people turned towards the bunk beds to it was very hot for me. The kitchen was also very dirty and not well equipped. They didn't have the bags on the first day so I kept my milk and bacons in a plastic bag separately in the fridge. Someone took my milk.

The location is the only good thing about this place. It is close to the HBF central train station for easy transit to other cities. Just five minutes walk to the station actually. There are also great eateries and restaurants around.
I have stayed in many A& O hostels across Europe and I can say this is by far the worst that I have come across. There is very poor ventilation and nothing is being done about it. The building has been there for a long time, and many travellers must have already complained in previous years. There is still no fan or air conditioning system to date. Sleeping at night is a terrible struggle.
My bed was not also prepared for my checking in. There was no bed spread, pillow cases etc. I complained to the staff at the reception who told me that I would have to wait till someone came by to take her post before she can give me these essentials. All in all, the hostels needs better and more active management
