Excellent location and lovely hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet (cul-de sac) side street. The Airport coach took about 25 minutes to get to Schwedenplatz, and we walked to the hotel which is only a few minutes away. The rooms were cosy, clean and the beds were very comfortable; which is great at the end of a long day of sightseeing. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a lovely traditional hotel within walking distance of the main attractions such as Stephansdom, a main shopping street with restaurants and cafes, and the Hofburg Palace complex. Mozart Haus and the Freud Museum were easy to get to from the hotel. Trams and buses were within meters of the hotel - Vienna is a very easy city to get around as the public transport is excellent; the Musikverein is only two stops away from the hotel via the tram so you could also walk to it. We would love to stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone going to Vienna.
We stayed in a lovely, comfortable and clean room located to the front of the hotel; one morning we could hear deliveries being made, as the hotel is located in a cul-de-sac. But this comment is more an observation than a complaint.

I'll start by saying that overall, our stay was great—the location, breakfast, room, and staff were all excellent. However, there were two things that upset me.
First, I was shocked that during our 4-day stay, our towels were never changed. Instead, the dirty ones were simply folded and put back as if I wouldn’t notice. I had to ask for fresh towels every day.
Second, we requested breakfast to-go because we were leaving early, and we had specified in advance what we wanted included. Unfortunately, what we received did not match our requests. On top of that, the coffee was packed carelessly and spilled all over the food.

It is an excellent old town location.
I appreciate that the staff found a way for me to check out early after our one-night experience. They did resist this idea initially, however, attempting to maintain the second night was nonrefundable.
The mini-split A/C unit was the best of the seven hotels we stayed at during our trip.
The shower head on long wall of tub instead of short wall makes shower quite poor, tub has no traction strips so is very slippery. I slipped in the thing and but for my cat-like agility could have fallen hard.
The room smelled of Viennese cigarettes from decades past; probably embedded in the walls and ceiling.
The breakfast was the poorest of the seven hotels we stayed at during our trip. There wasn't much variety and the options weren't as tasty as what the other hotels offered. Seemed like a lack of effort and/or attempt at cost savings.

Room was comfortable and very clean with plenty of outlets to plug in devices. I appreciate the hotel help with arranging a cab to take us to the airport when we were returning home.

Location is great. Just two blocks across the Danube and within 10 minutes to St Stephen’s and main tourist attraction. Breakfast was good but nothing outstanding.
The keys are super big and heavy! Not sure if all vintage hotels in Austria is like it but it can be unwieldy for tourists who want to travel light. AC is not that cool but okay. Bathtub is too big to climb in just to take a shower and there is no shower holder for the shower head so you’ll have to manage holding it in hand while shampooing. These are all very simple fixes to make the stays a bit more comfortable for guests.

The hotel has a great location from old Vienna. Being tucked away, it was very quiet. The room was nice and the breakfast was lovely. The cooling/heating system was wonderful.
I was ending my travels with 2 friends after biking across Austria. Unfortunately, 1 of them was in a biking accident and had to fly home to the states. I notified the hotel about the change thru email and got a confirmation the change from 3 to 2 persons was made. Upon checking out, we were charged for 3 persons. The hotel stated they did not commit to a change of price, just a change in the number of people in the room. In hindsight, I should have asked about the price difference, canceled the original reservation for 3 and made a new one for 2. I don't like feeling I need to "jump through hoops," to save money. It was a Buyer Beware situation.

Hotel Austria is in a historic location lined with cobblestone roads next to all shopping, arts, and good eats. Easily connected with a nearby subway, however I walked to the arts district quickly. The neighborhood has lots of nouveau dining options, and quickie fare. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The hotel breakfast is delicious and the room was very clean.

Very friendly staff. A very warm atmosphere in general. Location can not be beat. Right in the middle of the action, five minutes from the U-bahn and S-Bahn, nearly every attraction in the innerstadt is within a 25-minute walk.
While in some ways the hotel had a nice vintage feel, in many others it just felt old, almost like visiting an elderly grandparent or great-grandparent. Additionally, there was a small extent of disrepair.

We had an excellent stay in Vienna thanks to this hotel’s prime location, close to public transport and popular tourist attractions. Breakfast was included, and it was quite good. We booked the economy twin bed with an external bathroom. At first, I was unsure about the external bathroom, but it turned out to be no issue at all. It's located just down the hallway, and it’s private for your room, making it a great deal for the price.
The staff were polite and very helpful, which made the experience even better. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Vienna.
The heater in the room was a bit too hot for comfort, and one of the beds felt more like a sofa bed, which wasn’t as comfy. A better mattress on the second bed would definitely improve the overall experience.

Lovely staff, friendly & helpful. Got a nice room on the 4th floor. Very central close to old town. Great price and got a wonderful breakfast in the morning ideal for a few nights in Vienna.
Not really a bad point but a little bit outdated but that's what adds to its charm.

We really loved this hotel! It was on a quiet, dead end street, but yet a short walk from all the hustle and bustle. It felt like the best of both worlds! The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend!

Ants near jellies on breakfast buffet table.
Bottom sheet could have been softer.
Key was a bit hard to use and very heavy.

The hotel was very clean and had a good breakfast. The beds were very comfortable. Good location.
Unfortunately our room was on the second floor just above where everyone went outside for a smoke break and we couldn’t keep our windows open because the smell of smoke kept coming in our room. Also, the shower has very low water pressure on the hotter setting.

The hotel is very nice, and though the rooms are a bit dated they are very clean. Breakfast was very good with a good variety of options.
Arriving by private car, one needs to proceed up a one way alley to drop off luggage and to check in. You must then back down to the street and drive to an underground parking area a few minutes away. Not a great problem, but you should be aware. Arriving by taxi/ uber would likely deposit you at hhe stree end of the alleyway.
There is one elevator that accomodates 4 persons without luggage, or 2 with carry-on. a wide staircase also serves all 3 floors.
