Pretty comfortable hotel located right in the center of Vienna. With a short walk in any direction you will be at a number of historical palaces, museums, parks and everything else. Naschmarkt market is also close where you have a ton of shops and restaurants to grab a bite or a coffee. Room was quite spacious and the bed was just perfect for me, you also get a complementary bottle of water and tea and coffee refiled every day. All the staff was really nice and helpful.

The place is perfectly located, directly behind the Secession, just around the corner from the Naschmarkt and a short stroll from the opera and the most important museums. Nice room and a spacious bathroom.
The hotel might meet the criteria for four stars, but it is decidedly an OK three-star place. The breakfast is hugely overpriced and at these rates should be included in the room price. Very poor sound isolation, you hear every footstep in the room above and the use of the bathroom next door. No attention to detail like a half-empty botte of water that is not replaced etc. Next time in Vienna a real four star place again, maybe slightly further from the center.

A great discovery of a hotel.
To attend a Der Rosenkavalier performance at the Wiener Oper I was searching for a hotel just minutes walk from the opera house. But the Secession Hotel an der Oper is much more than that. You get great rooms, nice attentive and discreet staff, a super breakfast in a beautiful well designed space, metro station 5 mins far and you can reach all Wien Zentrum main places by walking. And for me, as a serious opera lover, the great surprise was to discover photos of great opera singers present and from the golden era who stayed at the hotel themselves while they were performing. Staying where names such as Bryn Terfel, Cheryl Studer, Nicola Martinucci and the Strauss-Wagner Tenor James King, my youth idol. I would go back. That's for sure. Thanks!!

The hotel is very well located, close to a subway entry, the museums area and a few restaurants. The staff is mostly nice and try to help when needed (except the cleaning staff, which are rude and unfriendly). The breakfast is good but a lot of it is sweet (Cakes, Muffins, etc).
In my opinion, the hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating. The rooms are clean and spacious but the services offered are very limited. But the worst of all is the parking. The one in the hotel is small and fits about 6 cars, otherwise you have to park across the street. That one is large but the people in the hotel do not really know well how it works, so we had to run two times to the reception desk to ask for help and in the end all they could do was to call the assistance.

Fantastic location! Just minutes from the museum district, night market, Opera House,city centre and transit. Everything was perfectly walkable and safe. Hard to find a better location that's still quiet and cosy.
Room was just right. Enough space to be comfortable, even with your bags. Bed was large and comfy, bathroom was spacious and barrier free. Loved the tilt'n'turn windows for ventilation.
We didn't do the breakfast, but it looked great. Plenty of great cafes nearby too. The small bar was a nice treat in the evenings and the staff were all super helpful and friendly.
Definitely recommend staying here.

This is a max 2-star hotel. The room I stayed in was hideous, the furniture super old, the walls were dirty and everything was old and just sad-looking. The floor was creaky and had stains. Even the ironing board and iron I borrowed were old and in poor shape. I did tell staff at the front desk that I found the room to be very different from the pictures and he said that some rooms were renovated and were different but that they assign rooms as reservations come in so maybe I got one that was not renovated.

The hotel has a good location, all the main attractions may be reached by foot. Breakfast offers great variety of hot dishes and cold snacks. The staff is friendly and helpful. Tea cattle in the room with and free mineral water was a nice bonus.
All the furniture in our room was visibly old and outdated. Chairs, sofas with old spots. The safe didn’t work, the hair dryer worked only every second time. The A/C works only during summer season, and it is very noisy if you dare to open the window. No slippers, no bathrobes, no soft drinks in the mini bar. The whole experience is not for the 4* star hotel.

The location is more than perfect. Quiet for sleeping but close to everything. I really liked the breakfast, if you only stay 2 or 3 nights it has enough options in my opinion. Decent coffee from the machine. I liked the room too- luminous and with enough space to open a suitcase or roll out a yoga mat.
The common spaces like lobby are not the best if you need to do some remote working, but I guess you have lots of coffe houses around for that. Bare in mind that entrance for the hotel parking is very narrow!

We were forced to checkout on the first evening due to a mechanical issue in the room.
Upon check in we informed the front desk that there was a mechanical issue in the room which emanated a loud buzzing noise every two to three minute. Imagine an alarm clock going off every two to three minutes. After returning from dinner we were told that nothing could be done about the issue and we would have to deal with it. Realizing that sleep would be an impossibility we checked out in favor of other lodging. Despite the inconvenience we were still charged a nights stay. As a Level Three Genius customer it is the only time I have had to write a negative review. Any attempt by hotel management to characterize this assessment in any other way should be met with great skepticism.
