The location is very convenient as it is a two second walk from the CBD. Unfortunately it's less of a hotel and more of a managed apartment building. The building is historic and the lobby looks like something out of an American movie.
The room had a washing machine/dryer as well as cloth hangers etc.
The entire place smelt wet and moldy for my entire 3 night stay and when I sent a message to staff on day one they replied saying "Thanks we'll let the manager know". The bathroom extraction fan didn't work and that's likely due to the fact the entire thing was clogged with dirt/lint,
It's advertised as providing amenities like shampoo and soap etc so i didn't take any - what they don't tell you is the won't replenish it so if you're on an extended trip, anticipate there won't be enough for you.

Loved that the entirety of the hotel was all the original historical fixtures and original furnishings, materials and details (especially the elevator doors with their original stained glass windows)
I appreciate vintage and original architecture and workmanship so I loved every minute of being in the lobby as well as the room!
Of course the moderations to make the apartment more accessible were necessary but the value was more in the experience of the visit itself.
Fantastic pricing for 2 nights in Brisbane cbd and couldnโt be closer to central station if you tried for so cheap!! As we needed to commute to the entertainment centre for a concert
Definitely only thing that could be better was the shower handle being stiff and not separate handles and not being able to see which way was hot or cold and it was very touchy so the stuff shower handle made it harder to find the happy medium but other than that the temperature and pressure was great!

The location was excellent. A short walk to central train station, bus, and shopping mall of the CBD. The room was large offering a separate bedroom and living space. Staff were friendly and helpful once we managed to get through the front door.
There was no reception open on the weekend which met getting access was a little difficult. Unfortunately our TV in the main living space did not work but the one in the bedroom was fine.

Firstly the location was fantastic, a very short walk from Brisbane Central station. The staff were welcoming and warm and check in was an easy process. The room itself was very large for what I paid and clean.
My main gripe was with the tertiary facilities. The wi-fi connectivity was awful. I'm not sure if this was due to the specific location of my room, but I could barely get 2 bars in any part of the floor and had to resort to "hotspotting" my phone for the entire duration of my stay just to get work done.
The bathroom toiletries were tiny and of poor quality, whilst not essential, I've been provided with much better (and more plentiful options) at other hotels.
Finally, I found the check out procedure a bit cryptic. There was no designated drop off point so I improvised by leaving my key behind the rollerdoor at the counter. I was concerned the staff would not find the key (or it would be taken) but thankfully there was no issues this time.

the whole room was filthy. the freezer hadnโt been cleaned in god knows how long, dirty plate in the dishwasher, fridge and freezer stunk of fish. sheets had marks on them when you got into bed, dust and crumbs everywhere!! the room looked like it hadnโt been touched or cleaned properly in months. counted over 9 hairs in the shower that were not mine. rented a roll away bed that collapsed in the middle of the night?? and on top of that payed $120 for parking for 2 nights and it was not secure at all, i would have felt safer leaving my car in a coles car park. i payed almost $700 for an apartment that was horrible, im a cleaner myself for hotels and if i ever left a room in that condition i would find myself fired without a job. also absolutely no staff, after check in i did not see a single person to talk to about the condition of the room

We pre paid, but had to go into their web site and upload legal document and credit card detail in advance of staying. In this day of scams, didn't think it was appropriate to ask for this.
Room was not 4*, and very tired looking. Curtains hung off hooks, one light didn't go, crockery chipped, TV didn't work properly, spa and sauna on top floor was closed, blinds didn't work, although not their fault it sounded like a chain saw working in the street outside until after 11pm. Generally the room was just underpay and we only comment because of the Star rating which leads you to have a level of expectation.

Rooms needed a freshen up, minor repairs to cupboards, blown light bulbs etc, little things make a huge difference. The place felt clean, but you could tell they quickly went over it (I have a #2 haircut and there was long black hair in the bathroom)

Lacked alot of work. In shower paint was peeling off and was litterally hanging from the ceiling.
Very noticeable, how the cleaners or staff of hotel have not seen and fixed is beyond my reasoning.

The Rothbury is conveniently located within walking distance to Central Station & Christies Training Centre. This was extremely conveient for an out-of-town traveller who flew to Brisbane.

Loved the location, we could walk to most things we needed within the city! The aircon was very good and efficient. The kitchen was well stocked. The apartment was comfortable and roomy. It was well cleaned except for some mould in the showers.
We were there six days including a weekend. There are no staff on the property on weekends. We were only left with one sachet of dishwashing powder and no spare bin bags, and no staff there to refill for us on our first few days. However they did refill on Monday but we had gone without for two days. The wifi was abysmal ! It was so slow we waited twenty minutes for Netflix to load and even then the movie kept glitching and stopping. You just couldnโt use it! The bathroom door handle kept falling off every time we tried to open it from the inside.

Convenient & central location. Room was spacious; beautiful art deco grand olde lady building with interesting history.
Foyer on 3rd had an unpleasant smell which may be pet wee.
Ceiling light in bedroom & bathroom did not work; room felt damp underfoot & on couch.

Also very quiet for being on a busy street. Close to good food and shops,
It was all very good and would recommend to anyone for a short stay in Brisbane

Location was very central to restaurants and attractions
We booked 2 rooms, and both were not clean. The shower was moldy and there was general dirt around the room. The air conditioning didn't work in one of the rooms and there was rarely anyone at reception to help.

Donโt know why I paid $1000 for 4 nights to be put on a stretcher in the LOUNGE ROOM after being told ,when I called prior to our stay, I would be accommodated for as we booked for 3 people. Room was owned by another lady as parcels in her name were scattered across the room with her personal items. Paint in the bathroom was peeling and all kitchen utensils were so unsanitary. Thanks Sharron for the stay (lady the parcels were addressed too)

Helpful friendly and down to earth reception came down close to midnight to meet me. Thanks Helen. Hotel room was big and spacious. Has everything you need. Including TV and washing machine. Was well priced for what it was and right in the CBD so close to everything and right close to the Central Train Station where you can catch a train to the airport. And were very helpful and let me leave my bag at reception after check out.

Right at the central of Brisbane and yet the price is very reasonable. The staff here are very friendly. I checked in after midnight and the night staff were very nice and helpful.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the train station. Itโs a beautiful and historic building, and the staff who assisted us were very kind and welcoming.
However, we had some issues with the facilities: several lights werenโt working, the fridge was leaking, and the air conditioning was quite noisy
