We checked in and then there was drilling noise for an hour - we asked the reception if the noise could stop but they said NO they are doing electrical maintenance -
I asked for another room but reception said they were drilling throughout all the rooms …
I said you need to give me a refund - they refused- I asked for a discount as we were not informed of this noise - they said NO but you can move out n we will refund your money !

I was travelling up north two hours fir the day and needed to call uber - it was not a good hotel or service was bad

My experience was quite disappointing, especially considering this could have been our honeymoon, as we are newlyweds. I have previously stayed at other Rydges locations in Australia, but unfortunately, this was by far the worst.
The room was outdated and poorly maintained. The closet was rusty, and the toilet was also quite concerning. After I showered, the drainage didn’t work properly, leaving the floor covered in bubbles, which made it dangerously slippery.
Essential amenities such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, cotton buds, and room slippers were not provided. The hairdryer was extremely old and had an unpleasant odor, making me hesitant to use it.
The room also lacked sufficient power outlets—there was only one beside the bed, and it was already in use for the lamp.
What was most frustrating was that the room looked nothing like the elegant and slightly luxurious photos posted on Booking.com. It felt misleading and dishonest.
This experience was far from what we expected, especially for such a special occasion. I hope this feedback brings some justice to guests like us who rely on truthful advertising and expect a certain standard from a reputable hotel brand.

The whole place is rundown and needs a refresh. It used to be such a beautiful hotel and in such a wonderful location. I’m actually very surprised that people are continuing to have weddings there, because the backdrop of such old and fading facilities would be enough of a turn off for me. Staff were not very interactive, which matched the vibe of the property. Mould all through the bathrooms was also a bit of a turn off. Breakfast was great.

We got the beautiful view of Beach , Rydges is at very good location ,Food was very good a nice pool i must add. Also the staff was very polite and helpful. We would highly recommend this property.

Great location around 200m from the esplanade road and the restaurants.
Good value for money, offered lots of options such as breakfast, pool, tennis court and laundry rooms.
We found a few stinks on the pillow case and the cleaning of the room was not done properly. I would also suggest a short renovation in the next years as draws and other equipment were a little old.

Rooms are not refurbished and for the price they didn't seem as comfortable as might be expected. Overall, the property looks tired and in need of an overhaul.

The location, cleanliness, staff were all really nice. The room was large and nice with a view of the mountains. Mornings were nice and sunny.
A free shuttle to the night market area during rainy times should have been better. Rain was a bit difficult to move around.

Everything. The early morning front desk staff was pretty awful but thankfully the rest of the staff were great. Location is right by hospital /ER far end of city, the beds were soft and bouncy, not at all plush or supportive. The walls are so thin I could hear word for word the conversation next door. I didn't like this hotel at all.
