The Jensen Potts Point - Sydney

Located in the heart of Potts Point, The Jensen offers a fresh and stylish accommodations right among the buzz of popular Macleay Street. We had a balcony which was nice. Location was close to some nice cafes & Woolworths.

We were located at the front of the building and the road noise was terrible. No double glazing? The bed was so squashed in you had to walk slowly between the bed & the fireplace every time you crossed the room. I wouldn't class this as "boutique" considering the hotel facilities were virtually zero. You can't put a coffee machine anywhere? Room was way too small. People above us were pacing up & down in their room & you could hear every noise they made. We also had issues getting into the building even though we checked in ad there was an email we didn't receive so had to call them. Wouldn't stay here again.

Unique and quaint style of accommodation. In the heart of Potts point with many cafes accessible. Lovely presentation.

The shower had nowhere to rest my showering items. The hand basin had someone’s beard shavings in it when I first arrived. A t-shirt was left behind on the floor in my room by a previous patron which made me feel like it hadn’t been prepared properly for my stay. The power point switch by the bed side table was faulty and didn’t charge my phone so I had to pull the lamp out. The bed springs were uncomfortable.

Very good location, very central and on a lovely street

Very poor unfriendly and unprofessional staff. Girl on reception didn’t even acknowledge or say hello to guests, was on her phone and eating noodles. Strong smell of urine in the corridor from everyone sharing a bathroom. Room is much smaller than photos, not advertised correctly that the toilet was shared. Poor accommodation staff - did not remake the beds/clean the room on multiple occasions when we had the sign on the door asking them to. I left my AirPods in the room, just realised after leaving. Reception staff very unfriendly on the phone when I tried to explain. I emailed and was told that cleaners did not find them however I do believe that they were just thrown out. Fire alarm went off one of the nights, all guests were out in the hallways however the hotel isn’t staffed after 3pm in the day so no staff were there to inform us of what was happening or to turn the alarm off. Only good thing is the location

Very clean place which is u must ! Room was comfortable and cozy with it’s private balcony (for us). Furnitures/facilities are provided in room and bathroom. Great location with groceries store, cafes, bank and some shops in the street and only couple of minute walking from the CBD (shoping mall, ferries, parks, etc).

The street is really busy (in terms of noise) either early morning or at night but location is perfect.

The location is excellent, walking distance to everything. There are many great cafes and bars to choose from, and public transport is easy to access. The check in and out was easy, and the room, whilst compact, had everything you need for a short stay in Sydney.

Staff is only on site from 8 am to 3 pm. That became a problem when my toilet clogged. Also, the consequences of locking yourself out of your room could be pretty severe.

The location.

I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to sleep. We stay in Sydney every month and booked The Jensen because of its great location, but unfortunately, we had a terrible night. Other guests were using the shared bathroom for showering until 2am, and doors were slammed throughout the night. The rooms are not soundproof at all. The guest in the room next to us was using the hair-dryer at 1am, which was loud in our room On top of that, light comes into the room through gaps in the blinds and around the door, making it even harder to sleep. If you’re looking for a cheap place and don’t mind getting little to no sleep, this might suit you. Otherwise, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

Great location in a vibrant area with great eateries and an extremely central location. The decor was nice.

Despite checking in in advance, it was difficult to enter the property after 3pm and we had to go to another hotel to get further information on how to enter. We then arrived to previous guest’s underwear on the floor and an unpleasant smell to the room. The room also had no natural light or windows which wasn’t advertised. There was a cockroach in the shower on one occasion. The walls were also thin so could easily hear people in the shower, on the stairs or just shutting their doors. It doesn’t stand up to its claim as ‘boutique accommodation’.

Location was great, easy to catch a bus and/train to CBD and tourist attractions. Comfy bed.

Shared bathroom was disgusting, we understand it is shared but other guests would leave underwear, bloody snot (see photo), and trash in the shower etc. When I brought up the bloody snot to guest services he said “just use the other bathrooms” so I then asked if he could clean it and he said “house keeping will be here in a couple hours”. Later that same day, once rooms were cleaned, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom (not to even restock myself), and the there was no more soap in the shower after. Lead me to believe that the bathrooms were rarely fully cleaned. Not to mention that when we checked into our room, they didn’t provide us with towels, so we had to find towels ourselves as there was no staff around. Our room did have an AC unit, but it made extremely loud rattling noise consistently while running. Loud enough that we weren’t able to sleep. Upon check out, myself and my partner were walking down the stairs with full arms of luggage, and the house keeper made eye contact with us, and decided to push past us on the narrow stairwell with no manners or even acknowledging us, or waiting for us to come down the last 3 stairs… We ended up having to book one extra night in Sydney and there was no way we were spending another night @ Jensen. We booked Bayswater Boutique (for cheaper price) and it has working AC, slick easy check in, clean bathroom, multiple towels in the room, a little kitchenette, snacks and drinks in room for purchase, extra blankets as needed and in same area in Potts Point.

rooms were beyond tiny, and beds so uncomfortable it was shocking. staff doesn't take care of guests luggage and leaves them just stranded while going on errands. for the price here you can get a queen room in surry hills, which i would do easily instead of coming back

Television didn't work, no reception to complain to, they close at 3pm. I couldn't log into WiFi. I called on the intercom and the girl offered no help at all. She actually said 'maybe you should have paid more money and got a better hotel '!!
