It was a truly magical, albeit too short, stay in a perfect location for exploring Quebec City. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and the beds were absurdly comfy!
There is nothing that could be better, it was exactly what we were looking and hoping for. Just a note for future travelers, they are upfront about the need to climb stairs for the rooms, but these are 18th(?) century stairs, so are a bit narrow. For us, it added to the experience, but it's important to be aware in advance if you have any mobility challenges.

Our family had 3 rooms - each was unique and thoughtfully decorated. Location was great to visit Christmas markets and sights in old Quebec. Restaurant staff and food both wonderful.
Small reception area was very crowded as we were trying to check in. People waiting for seating at restaurant made it difficult to maneuver around with luggage. Also staff gave us incorrect information regarding parking garage which caused us difficulty when trying to exit the garage.

The property is charming, atmospheric and well located. This not a cookie cutter experience. You really deal you are in a small French city. There is no lift, but the staff cheerfully assists.
The restaurant is a great asset and is ready to serve you breakfast (starting at 8am), lunch and dinner.

A beautiful old building right in the heart of the old town. We stayed in one of the attic rooms and loved it. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!

The room was beautifully appointed with super-comfortable beds. We loved the beams and historic features. The bathroom was roomy and warm, with radiant heat and good water pressure. Everything was charming.
We couldn't figure out how to work the thermostat to turn on the heat. The system was unfamiliar. As the concierge/check-in desk was closed by 5 pm, there was no one to ask, so we had to wait until the next day. Perhaps having an explanation and diagram printed and hung next to the two systems (cooling and heating) would help.

Rooms were unique. With stone walls, electric fireplace, nice view. Had a wall shower and great water pressure.
Bed was comfortable. Coffee maker was excellent.
Restaurant below was very good and friendly
Maintenance was lacking. Our window ( which was an emergency exit to a balcony with ladder) was jammed shut. Towel bar in shower was hanging loose. Rugs in the hallway were dirty.
There was rarely someone at reception and we had to wait at the restaurant bar below to check in.

Cute room and great location, attached to a wonderful restaurant
No one on reception until after 2pm and the phone number they leave for you does not work so you see lots of confused and frustrated people in the lobby waiting around, unfortunately we arrived on an early train so spent half the day trying to get in touch with hotel. Also the loft room has one step down from the bathroom into the bedroom that blends in so I fell out of the bathroom and have a massive bruise, luckily nothing broken.

The attic was really cozy and it was nice to have the window that opened for with a view. The Nespresso coffee was good to have. We were allowed to check in early. The restaurant staff were really nice, but it was strange that they turn so many people away without reservations when the restaurant was empty. I thought all the flights of weird stairs were kind of fun as long as I can still do them.
The shower dripped continually making the room more humid and the handheld shower wand didn't have a bracket to hold it up so that was pretty awkward.

We loved La Buchette restaurant, which is conveniently connected to the Auberge (they share an entrance from the street) and was an added bonus to staying there.
It would be great if there was more consistent coverage at the front desk by staff (someone sitting there every day).

There was not always someone at the front desk, although they were available by electronic means (text, etc.) Also a few minor amenities lacking (no face cloths, soap dispenser low). That said, it had many benefits and staff were pleasant and helpful. We would recommend this hotel.

Quaint boutique hotel with large loft apartment and views of the Chateau Frontenac. Ideal location for walking all over old Quebec. The loft is on the 3rd floor with lots of stairs with railings. Very comfortable beds and living space. Excellent restaurant downstairs for breakfast and meals.

Overall, a wonderful experience. The hotel is located right in the historic center of Old Quebec, with a beautiful and atmospheric setting. The room was charmingly decorated in a vintage style, and the bathroom was spotless with an excellent shower — great water pressure and very comfortable.
The only downside was the check-in process. It’s fully self-service, but the mobile key wasn’t set up in advance as expected. We had to wait outside the room for quite a while before receiving a working access link. That part was frustrating, but everything else about the stay made up for it.

Although they are not affiliated, we dined at La Buchette restaurant on main floor annd enjoyed an exceptional meal & service!
We arrived around 1pm in the rain, there was no reception area, and no one to greet you on arrival. It was disappointing to have to wait over 2 hours to get into our room. (With many others)
The shower was difficult to use, and tub walls were very high and it was difficult to climb into.
We were On the very top floor, lots of stairs. Difficult if you have mobility issues.

You can't beat the location! Less than 1 block from Chateau Frontenac, and easily walkable to all of Old Town Quebec. The AC was very welcome on a warm July stay. The room was "cozy", but we were comfortable. We were in one of the attic rooms, and it was nice that we were well above the street and restaurant, so our room was very quiet. However, the narrow staircases were a challenge to navigate with bags. The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean.
The shower door needed new stripping (we had to mop up leaks after a shower).

It could use a decor refresh, (ceiling fan dust, which I don’t think operates.). We had no front desk service that I ever saw. All contact was by phone or text, which was fine, but I did not expect. The front door was hard to find the first day. Overall it felt more like a quaint Air BNB room, than a small boutique hotel or B&B, which I was expecting.

This is a NO CONTACT hotel. There are NO people at all! I checked on the Booking website and it is explained under “important information “ an option I didn’t even know was there. Check in is digital and every day I ran into angry and frustrated guests trying to figure the process. There is a restaurant on the bottom floor, excellent, by the way, whose staff are kind but obviously fed up with helping guests. I had to leave a day early to a different hotel because my granddaughter arrived 3AM and this hotel could not help me at all. There is NO security from the street during the day and NO place to safely leave a bag. If you are tech savvy and only plan to come and go with NO extra requests you are fine. Oh yes, keep your phone charged but even at that there was a computer glitch and I was locked out and sent on a treasure hunt for the emergency key. People do answer phone calls and texts

third floor room was actually 60 steps from street level or 4 floors and no elevators , no way to unload your luggage in front of hotel. so checking in was horrible . Also no front desk , so no staff to ask questions or get help. Had to look thru my old emails to get a number to call for assistance, it was stressful, would not go there again.

The location was right in the heart of it all.
We stayed in room 30 and although I knew it was in the attic and there were no elevators, we didn’t expect there to be as many stairs. We are in our mid 50’s and we were struggling and we met 2 other couples who looked to be in their 70 and they had to stop and take a break on each floor and then their husbands had to push them from behind because they were not able to climb on their own. It was actually quite sad to see.

No one at reception when we arrived and left. There was no one to greet us, help with luggage or help locate our room. The hotel uses electronic keys which are challenging to use. Ours stopped working when we went to breakfast and we couldn’t get back in the room. Staff are available by phone but it doesn’t replace a live person.

The location was fantastic, right in the middle of the action in the old city. The room seemed newly decorated and bright. The bed was reasonably comfortable. both bathroom and bedroom were very clean.
We did not like the digital key and impersonal check-in with no one to welcome us or show us how to adjust the air conditioning. The entryway is dark and uninviting. There was a major leak in the shower faucet and the constant sound of running water was unpleasant and wasteful. I sent a text to the owners immediately and they responded quickly with apologies but did not fix it while we were there. parking was not included and there was no place to park nearby to unload. There was no breakfast included, but we were able to purchase Breakfast on the premises. We thought it expensive considering the lack of parking or breakfast and the complete absence of in person service. Although the owners were quick to respond to texts, we did not meet a single member of staff in person.

The Auberge Place de Armes is located in the heart of Old Town Quebec City & filled with the ambiance of Europe. Room was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was excellent. Food great & staff helpful and friendly.
Can't think of a thing! who doesn't like life right in the heart of the city.

Location was excellent. Room was quiet and bed was comfortable. Staff was very responsive.
Carpet was worn and thread bare. Lighting was barely adequate. Room was small and oddly shaped. One person in bed had to climb under rafters to get into or out of bed. Door to room stuck to bottom jam and hard to open.

This was a very quaint property right in the heart of old Quebec. And directly across from the Château Frontenac. We had the top floor loft room, which was huge. There is a very lovely restaurant right underneath and all down the block and throughout the city. This was our first visit to Quebec city and I would definitely go back. It is truly magical.
Overall, we loved it. The only downside for some guests might be the lack of an elevator. We were on the third floor, so you’ll have to take your luggage up the stairs.

The bathroom was updated and there was good water pressure in the shower.
The facility is worn and run down. The stairs were quite steep, making transporting luggage difficult. But the most disappointing aspect was the lack of communication from the staff. We were not provided with a pin number to access a lockbox containing the fob to our room. We texted the contact number and after some delay and confusion were able to get the information.

The room was unique and clean. we chose this hotel for its proximity to the cruise port. The food at the restaurant was very good
The Room was on the 4th floor; this hotel is a very charming old building. there are no elevators and the stairs are relatively narrow and steep. This hotel is operated remotely with no reception staff on premise. We arrived late in the evening 11:30 PM, there was barely any hot water in the shower; the next morning when restaurant was open and other guests were up we had no hot water.

Loved the old charm
I think we should have been told that they didn’t have an elevator and we were on the 3rd floor. Very difficult to get the bags upstairs and no staff to help us. Check in is 16:00 I think that’s quite late when most flights arrive in the morning and no place to store your luggage.

The charm, the location, the beams and the two king size beds.
The coffee machine did not smell good and it was powder creamer. It would of been nice to have small milk and creamer in the fridge.

only thing that was good, was the power of the shower
shabby, expensive, view of scaffolding . steep steps up the room. No inperson staff to deal with. Sleeps 4, but only 4 coat hangers,2 cups . poor quality bedding. Badly stained carpet. had sent a message saying we would be there early, they said ok, but actually nowhere to put suitcases that was safe, ran out of toilet paper... need i go on... Yes. I put review on google, manger said he would contact me about refund, I had to chase for 2 weeks, it was just a distraction. no contact from him even after 3 emails...

The location is excellent. The room is very clean and the bed comfortable. The on-site restaurant is excellent. A shout out to Charles for the excellent service he provided helping us settle into the hotel as well as his service in the restaurant!! Merci beaucoup Charles.
The bathroom in our room was within arm’s reach of the bed and unfortunately, the door was glass…..and not completely frosted or opaque glass. Glass doors don’t encourage the ‘mystery’ of what goes on behind closed doors! ??

We liked the location. It's close to many attractions.
We did not like the room or its surroundings. Everything felt cheap and very lacking in care. Many things, including hot water and the door opener, did not work. The facilities did not match the value of what we paid. It was very disappointing.

This is no ordinary hotel. It starts with the property itself. It is an historic building and the rooms are brick walls, beams in the ceiling, most comfortable feather beds, and furnishing that make you feel like you’ve step back in time but with all the modern conveniences.
What sets this hotel apart is the people who work here. From the manager who personally drove us back to the airport, to reservations and restaurant, all staff, everyone to a person, went above and beyond to be friendly and helpful. The chef in the kitchen made me a special meal because I cannot eat dairy. A concierge staff waited outside the hotel to help carry my luggage to my room. And every day I was greeted with genuine friendly conversations from every member of the staff who seemed to know me personally from day one. The restaurant was a delight. There were many places I could’ve dined but we ate every single meal at this hotel restaurant. There is even a little boutique store attached where I could find a large selection of things that are not normally included in a simple little gift snack shop.
The central location of this delightful hotel meant that I had no more than a two minute walk to any place I wanted to visit.
Normally, you need to brush up on your French to go to Quebec city but the staff was fully versed in English conversation.
I have not been so delighted with a hotel in a very long time!

The location was perfect! Staff communicated well when I messaged them. The room was clean. There was an espresso machine and pods in the room with a mini fridge.
The bed was not comfortable, the WiFi was not good at all. The shower didn’t work properly and some parts were broken. When you flushed the toilet the tub drain gargled and it smelled like sewer at times.
