What we did not like was the pictures they show for the Family Double Room is a nice double sink vanity in the bathroom. However it was the TOTAL opposite. We have never had a sink as small as this one. You literally had to hold your head against the wall to wash your face or brush your teeth. Also, we could not get the water in the shower to be anything but extremely hot. However we did call maintenance, and the did tell us how to fix it.

The price was very fair although the property lobby and the room itself was quite dated. The bathroom was very small, but brand new and that was nice.
The TV system is really annoying. It seems to have hundreds of channels, but most of them are not available to the hotel viewers. Please just show which channels or show the channels that are available to people so we do not do endless scrolling we gave up after a while, furthermore you do not offer Fox News, which has five times the ratings of CNN and MSNBC. I don't understand some sort of liberal bias against Fox, but if you want to have Americans visit is the dominant newscaster for Americans and it's annoying you do not have it.

Good location in old Quebec City, which is a lovely place to visit. Be ready for hills and stairs!
I now know that for me I prefer to have a person on site for questions and help… This is an automated checkin, etc. - we were asking street security for directions at times. Not a negative, but need to consider. The congestion of the old city is notable…I think I would stay just outside the portals next time.

Our room was serviced once while we were there and not on the day we expected and only after numerous texts to the company who was managing the place. On one text to the managing company, they told us to go to the kirtchen to get fresh towels. REALLY!
We had a toilet back up and it took all day to fix it. NOT GOOD.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, but then again every single hotel in Quebec has an excellent location....
It's a really small and noisy room (#15), you can clearly hear your neighbors walking in the room above you and everything that happens in the hall.
The A.C. is one of the oldest that exists so it's very loud, on top of that it's placed inside of the window hole, so if you close the curtains at night to sleep you don't get any air in the room and if you use the AC while leaving the curtains open you will wake up at dawn.
The bathroom sink is inside the room near the bed and the bathroom door does not close very well.
This room should be much cheaper for what it offers.

The property was quaint and in a great location within Old Quebec City.
The room was exceptionally hot and stuffy as the air conditioning was not working effectively. The window was very small so there was insufficient fresh air. On our second day the hotel staff finally brought us a fan after we suggested one. The shower mixer did not work. My husband scalded his chest and we were unable to regulate the shower water for our entire three night stay. This shower is extremely dangerous and poses a safety risk as the hot water is not tempered at all with any cold water. The room had been occupied by a smoker and smelled. These problems have been commented on by others within the last three months and no effort has been made to rectify them. I regret choosing this hotel for our stay.

The photos and description of the property don’t match reality. The beds are uncomfortable. The carpets and wall paper and stated. The room is extremely small, to include the bathroom. They showcase newer rooms that appear newly renovated and cleaned. Our room was not like those in the photos. Also, the hotel staff are not on property. They are communicative before you check in with all the details for your check in but when you check in and have questions or concerns they do not respond or get back to you.

I paid for the room to be ready early, and I was told that it would be ready by 1pm. When we arrived close to 3pm, room still wasn't ready, housekeeping had just started cleaning it. We also asked for the crib to be placed in the room, however it wasn't done. Room was extremely small and smelled bad. Bathroom equated to the size of the closet, we barely could fit in there. I reached out to the hotel, asking to upgrade the room, however there was no response whatsoever.
One last amazing thing that happened was that I was charged TWICE for the stay.

The location of the building was near the the boardwalk, park and shops, but area was extremely hilly and difficult to get in and out of. The room was clean and beds were comfortable.
We thought we would have breakfast in the little garden, but ended up being locked out. The location is great for those who want to explore Old Quebec City. It's within easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. It's also basically at the bottom of the hill from The Citadel, which I think it worth checking out. The room itself was basic but clean. There was no staff on premises, but the instructions for entry into the building and the room (via keypads) were clear. (See comments below regarding no staff on premises.)
My stay here was disappointing because the TV in my room did not work for the two nights that I stayed there *and* the indifference by management about it. Upon my arrival I saw that there was a TV remote in the room, but it only appeared to turn on the cable box. Because there is no staff on premises, a sheet provided in the room instructed me to text a number if there were any issues, which I did in the early evening on my first night there. The person who responded indicated that a technician would come the next day to resolve the TV issue. No technician came nor did management respond to my follow up texts that second day. Thus, I had no TV for the two nights of my stay. That was disappointing and aggravating, but the aggravation continued once I returned from my trip.
After I got home, I contacted the property about my disappointment about both the lack of TV service during my stay *and* also about the lack of responsiveness to my issue while I stayed there. A person by the name of Virginie apologized and offered some compensation for the inconvenience. Long story short: I received multiple apologies from various people about my concern and also a promise of a 15% refund, but no refund was ever given. Additionally, I was always the one who had to initiate follow up with the property. The last communication and promise with property was a 15% refund that "would be credited back to my credit card within 5-10 business days." After ten days and no refund, I once again attempted to reach out to management via the booking.com site, but was no longer able to do so. The booking.com site also indicated that I was no longer able to provide a review of the property, even though I had stayed at the property less than two months earlier. It was only because I contacted booking.com about this situation that they re-opened my ability to provide a review. For those staying here, keep your fingers crossed that everything is as it should be in your room.

There was no breakfast, which was strange because they advertise breakfast included. The room was clean and it was quiet.
No staff present to greet us. Did not see no one. If wanted informations there was no one there to give helped.

I liked the location and the old style of the hotel,
There is no reception, I called and I asked if I can arrive little bit early because of the bad weather what was that day, and they said that is not possible before 4 pm just with the extra charge.
Unfortunately I couldn’t leave even my stuff there , like in all the hotel in this world where they accommodate their clients.
For sure I won’t stay ever at this hotel ever I like it the location and style

Location is very convenient. Walking distance to almost every attraction we’d like to visit.
I received the codes to the building and room ahead of time. It was very smooth process!
There was no parking lot onsite, but the place where we chose to park was only 4 minutes by foot. Not bad at all. We enjoyed staying at this place! Highly recommend this place !

Amazing location and authentic interior to suit the old town Quebec!
As an international traveller we did not have phone or SMS access, and no staff on site, we arrived for check in and had no information on how to check in, we did not receive our check in text, and had no ability to contact the staff, until a fellow traveller staying let us borrow their phone to call.

Location is great, no doubt, it's just near the fairmont chateau. But the room is too small, actually it's the smallest room I have ever lived in Canada. One of the faucet on the tank is not working. There is no water boiler in the room, the carpet on the hallway has very obvious stains. Overall, great location, but room is not so good.

Location was good infront of the river and fairmont. Prime location
The washrooms are extremely tiny, you can barely enter. The most uncomfortable washrooms ever.
Balconies were soooooo dirty! We specially booked room with balcony which charged us extra bucks but its totally worthless. There are no stafff in the property, you dont even know who to reach out if you need anything

Great location, the room is exactly as you can see in the pictures before you book and the communication is very good, Every time I had a question they provide me with the right information (self check-in so we talked via phone)
I can't say that I didn't like it because it makes sense, but I paid for an earlier check-in and late check-out even though I didn't see that the hotel was full…Would appreciate a more flexible approach
