The room booked wasnยดt that in the photos. Poor facilities, dirty bet sheets with spots and hair from others, dirty towel(one even we had bookd double rrom), dirty bathroom and also the building. The staff unwilling to help, willing only to sell expensive trips to the pyramids and to everything existing. Just choose another hotel, this maybe 60 years before was the grand royal, now is the grand scam hotel.

Bula vinaka From Fiji.. The property was in a really central location, closer to shopping centers, restaurant etc. Itโs very laid back, spacious and value for money. The owner, Hussein, is a very friendly man, soft-spoken and offers great advice on tours and extra-curricular activities. we were there during Ramadan, but he was really helping us look for alcohol. He organised our Pyramid tour & Nile Cruise with a local driver, Bob (very Famous & funny) who took us to the authentic Egyptian places & made great deals for local prices. Loved the experience and would highly recommend.

There were many sick people in the hotel. people were walking with urine bags and some with blood bags. you hear people coughing everywhere. I just needed to leave the place. i felt like I was at a hospital. the staff were nice and friendly though.

The hotel is only one floor of the building and is more backpacker-style/youth hostel-style than you might think from the photos available on here. It's a little bit run-down.

I came there by 12.30 PM, and my check in time was 1 PM. They told me no rooms are left there, and wait till 4 PM to get the rooms ready. And it was bit difficult for me and they told we have a good property near to their property. They shifted me to there. It was a dirty property , smelly bed sheets and all. I've traveled for more than 40 years into 25-30 countries and this was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Absolutely the worst. It was dirty, the bathtub had not been cleaned in years. It even had a big crack in the bottom. It would not hold water. There was no shower curtain. No toilet paper. Only 1 towel and there were 2 of us. The wifi did not work. The lobby is dirty and unkept. I cannot recommend this to anybody, not even my enemies. We were supposed to stay 2 nights. I checked out first thing in the morning after the 1st night. I could not subject my wife to this place any longer than necessary. And all the street noises, especially the horns honking, came into the room all night.

It was horrible. I looked at the building and it was absolutely horrific. We did not check and left as soon as we saw it. I reckon if I stayed all my belongings would have been stolen and I would have fallen I'll from such poor hygienic conditions. The images on booking.com are totally different to the actual building. We did not even stay and we still have not got a refund. I had to pay extra to find another hotel last minute. Ruined my whole trip. Wasted lots of my money and did not reach my money target.there is no way to contact booking.com so I may take legal action with solicitors. DO NOT BOOK.

Location was excellent! You can walk from the hotel to the Egyptian Museum. At night the city comes to life and walking around that area is an amazing vibe. It's easy to take a taxi from the hotel to most places
There is nothing new or grand or royal about the hotel but I guess you get what you pay for. Everything is old. Even the towels looks like it was bought 20 years ago. Walls are very thin, you can hear conversations in the room next to you. We had 2 rooms. One of the rooms had no hot water. They told us to all use the shower in the one room. Eventually they moved us to another room by the next day. If you're staying there just to sleep then I guess it's ok but don't expect much. No kettle or even water provided

Dirty, dusty building. On high floor, staircase in darkness. On arrival at reception we were greeted by a man who reminded us we were in a 3rd world country and therefore shouldn't expect much! That was just an excuse for laziness and inhospitable attitude. We were refused the room we booked. Pillows were disgusting! Dirty dusty room. We left within 1 hour.

Everything was great. All staffs are good and polite especially the receptionists. ??? also the place is very good and clean. The staff are exceptional and hold high standards to their work. Loved the original traditional charm. Will come back again The place is great, and I really don't understand why some people have left negative reviews. If you're looking for something better, you might need to spend more for a higher level of service.
