It's within walking distance to the Yumbo and beach..
Shower temperature kept changing whilst trying to shower.
One morning we where woken by loud hammering and drills.
Would have been nice if they had told us work was being done during our stay.. double beds would be much better than single ones..

The location is good and some staff are very nice,swimming pool is nice, the restaurant is also very nice.
The room is very old. Towells was with spot's on it (looking old) the sofa from 1 room was very dirty with spot's on it,the fridge was with a towell down. In big the cleaning was not good.I am sorry but I was very despointing. I think the manager should ask for better invest in cleaning. Also is not nice to ask people guarantees becouse you stay there..It was first time when at a hotel ask my credit card as a guarantee and I travel very much around the world.

This meant that the airport express buses had stopped so we ended up 2 hours late at arrival.
Checkin staff complaining that we were late and when we asked him to speed it up , he was "not my problem"...

The staff war helpful but that is not my hotel
The sleeping room is directly towards the hallways separated by only by single glas window- meaning there is noise 24/7 and no sleep for easy disturbed sleepers. I moved out and slept in a different, perfectly nice hotel 5 mins around the corner.

The room I ended up with had a very comfortable bed. It was the cheapest in the area for the night I booked.
Air conditioning wasn't working in the first room despite maintenance coming round. After the second complaint, no-one came and I was melting 45 mins later. THEN I was told that it was the entire block not just my room. Long story short: second room had working aircon, was less shabby, better bed and was quieter. No idea why they didn't allocate me that room in the first place. They said booking.com had not passed on any request for a quiet room. In general the hotel has seen better days and badly needs a refurb. The coffeemaker was covered in dust as were a couple of other things. Cleanliness clearly not a priority.

I was in the hotel for the 4th time. I am satisfied with what it offers, it has a good location, spacious apartments, air conditioning, I don't use the pool, but it seems to be great and popular. Last year the kitchen was a little bit better and breakfast and dinner outside under the palm trees were great. Now again served only in interiors and different menu, but I liked it and they have a good espresso coffee machine.
There is a bit of a problem with insufficiently clean plates for breakfast and dinner.

Had a wrist band fitted on arrival which we all removed, said nothing about wrist bands when booked. Returned one evening and said to man a reception I was going to my car to be told I wasn't allowed back in without wearing a wrist band. Room wasn't very clean, fridge was dirty, furniture easily 30 years old,, beds really uncomfortable, Room smelling of stale cigarettes, doors not closing right, glass rattling in doors, windows as thin as paper could hear every movement in the corridors. Only good thing was new bathroom but seemed pointless in a room that has been untouched in easily 30 years. This was my 3rd and last time ever staying in this hotel. The reception mans attitude has alot to do with this. Cheap and cheerful and also grubby and dirty.

Fabulous location. Would recommend an upgrade, very dated the standard room. But the upgrade was perfect.
The pool areas and the whole hotel was spotless and attention to detail to this.
The pool area was quiet during the week, but the weekend was quite busy.
The only thing, they we didn’t like was breakfast. I don’t feel as though English was catered for.

The good points are location, acceso to pool for disabled People and the size of appartment
The bathroom had a huge alive cockoroach the day we arrived. When we wanted to use plates and glasses, we discovered they were so dirty and there was no dishwashwer or dish soap. We had to buy it and scrubber. Faccilities in the kitchen didn't exist, there was no microwave and just 2 plates and 2 glasses (remember they were super dirty) so if you want to use one to serve, it was impossible.
Faccilities in the toilet were not enough, just one little bag of soap or shampoo for 2 days.
They just take care of the pool and common space but not the private ones. We even had to pay 12 more euros per night for our Pet and they had no detail for him, so why to pay 12 more euros every day? Hard to understand!!!

Location, and the nice female bartender at the pool bar!
It was like been at Fawlty Towers in the 1970’s. The property is VERY DATED, my room hasn’t been painted in years, lots of stains and damaged walls. No air conditioning and the fan in the bedroom didn’t work. The only plug in the bedroom didn’t work so had to use by battery pack every night to charge my phone!

I had wanted to book Rey Carlos for my 3 night trip but I left my booking a bit late and two of the nights were snapped up at this busy time of year. I was very pleased to spend the last night of my holiday at Rey Carlos, however.. I was on level 5, the top floor. My renovated room was lovely and exceeded my expectations. There was plenty of room and a generously sized kitchen meant I would be happy to stay next time for a week or so as meals could be prepared easily. The bedroom was larger than most in area and even the beds seemed wider and were very comfortable. The checkin staff were very welcoming and clearly communicated everything I needed to know to make the most of my stay. The renovated pool is quite amazing and the PH level seemed just perfect as it was no trouble opening my eyes under water. It seemed quite warm too.

The location of Hotel Rey Carlos is the best thing about the property. It was a very short walk to the dunes and beach, while the airport bus stop was right outside making transfers very simple.
The decor was extremely dated and a bit worn out looking. The room had a bad odour (especially in the bathroom) and I couldn't find any detergent or cloths to wash the dishes. A cat or some cats live in the lobby and some of their food was loose on the sofas in the lobby. The handle of our apartment was loose and almost falling off. The pool is not heated and felt too cold for swimming. There was a pile of old mattresses and garbage outside the back of the hotel which you could see out the windows. The beds were very firm and very old.

We’d previously booked a 4* hotel to spend our new year. It was £900’s, but as we got closer to new year the hotel prices seem to double. Booking.com cancelled our hotel a week before and offered this place as an alternative. We had no choice and had to take it as now could afford the 4* hotel prices. We aren’t annoyed with this hotel as its rating average is around 6.5 compared to our other hotel of 9. I’m annoyed booking.com actually thought this hotel was a good replacement. I will not be using them again. Our new year was ruined. This hotel is not cleaned properly and it’s dirty and very dated

Very outdated and tired hotel.We didn't get the superior room booked for first 2 nights.awful ! Then moved to a better one.which smelled of smoking through air vents...everyone around hotel smoked ,!.ugh...the corridors are disgusting.so dated..even had cats outside been fed!!.very noisy people from Finland running around pool area and taking over the place...when they arrived..mainly old people staying here....won't becoming back again..

Unless you go for superior room which we didn't, the rooms are seriously outdated and old. Decor, furniture, walls and painting are in need of full renovations. The bed was on an MDF wooden board, mattress old and lumpy and not comfortable at all. The sofa was grubby and falling apart. The bathroom was stained and cracked. Lighting and electrics were questionable. Definitely in need of more than a makeover.

The location was great, staff were friendly and the outside renovation is lovely.
The apartment we had was one of the older rooms and the beds were extremely hard so we did not have a great nights sleep. Hopefully the renovated rooms have better mattresses.

The room was in a really bad condition. There was damp in the bathroom and being pregnant this was particularly alarming. The wall was falling off in the sitting room. The safe didn’t work. The lock on the door didn’t work. (Have taken videos of this). The draws in the wardrobe didn’t open. And one of the draws that did fell off in my hand. The shower was broken so was spraying water everywhere. There is no security to the hotel so anyone can walk in and out. The pool area is smaller than how it looks in the images. The cleaner left our balcony door open.

It’s well located, but too many swing and strip clubs around, we didn’t know that. It’s close to the dunes and have nice bus stops.
Only old people are staying there (70+), the cleaning lady wouldn’t come after we said once that we didn’t need cleaning on that day specifically xD, there was a drunk guy screaming at his wife late in the night.

The gentleman who cleans the pool area favoured a lot of german tourists and was most unpleasant. He told us towels cannot go down till 10.30,and gave the signal for his german friends they could place theirs down,after removing ours. Main reason as they were a group of around 16 n we happened to put our towels on a lounger that was at their desired spot everyday. But as for the rest of staff,all good.
