Hotel de Champagne is the first hotel certified by Ecolabel in the Anjou area and offers modern and comfortable accommodations. The soundproofed guest rooms are contemporary in style and décor. They are all equipped with private bathrooms, air conditioning and a flat-screen TV.
A breakfast buffet is served or delivered to the guest rooms. A selection of fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, croissants and charcuterie is provided. Part of this selection is Fair Trade and Organic certified.
Opposite the TGV train station and just 10 minutes walk from the city center, the hotel is conveniently located. The hotel is certified by Ecocert and Quality Tourism. Public parking is available nearby and bike storage space is available, if reserved before arrival.
The elevator does not provide direct access to all the rooms. A security deposit of €100 is required upon arrival. It must be paid by credit card.
The refund should be processed within 7 days after your departure. The security deposit will be fully refunded to your credit card, provided that no damage has been noted by the property. Please note that this security deposit must be made using a physical bank card with PIN entry.
Contactless payment is not accepted. This deposit may be used in case of smoking, damage to the property, or loss of keys. Please also note that the deposit may appear as a charge on your account.
If this is the case, once it is canceled—provided no damage, smoking, or loss of keys has been identified—the charge will disappear. Depending on your bank and account, even after we have processed the cancelation on our side, this may take anywhere from 24 hours up to one month.

Staff were lovely and helpful. Bed comfortable and good shower. Breakfast average, usual bread cereal yogurt etc- no hot food altho there was a facility to boil eggs. Only 3 mins walk from rail station and numerous local bus stops as well as longer bus journeys which was what I required as I planned to visit Brissac and Saumur. Easy walk into Old Town. Not many places nearby to eat unless you prefer pizza kebab type places altho I would recommend Brasserie de la Gare which is excellent.
Lift only services 2 rooms per floor and I had to carry my suitcase down 5 or 6 narrow steps then a small narrow landing and 5 or 6 steps up. Bit scary. Luckily when I left one of the cleaning ladies offered to help and picked up my case and carried it to the lift without a problem.

Well, to start with in New Zealand, this place would not pass the health check.
Both the bathroom and toilet had no windows and no ventilation. Both opened into the bedroom, and I had diarrhoea, we had to open the bedroom window and hope nobody got in. Where it got its name champagne from it was obviously flat and corked. I would never stay there again

We just picked it for an overnight stop.
We arrived late, there wasn’t tea or coffee making facilities in the room. I grant you that when I when down the three flights of stairs the receptionist did heat up some cold coffee in the microwave which was welcome and free.
The elevator wasn’t working when we arrived. We, in our later years had to carry our bags up three steep flights of stairs which being tired from our journey didn’t help. Then go back for the above mentioned coffee. I questioned the about the elevator , I was told “ it’s working,someone is using it and you just have to wait” after waiting 5 minutes with the cooling coffee I reclimbed the stairs. The “call” light wasn’t on (Appel) so I checked in the morning it was working fine and lite up. I think ,because it’s a little noisy, they switch it off at night,so don’t arrive late with baggage if you are roomed on the top floor,( there are four) unless your young and fit and don’t mind.
The receptionists in both cases( night and morning ) seemed busy, we felt we were an encumbrance to them, from the paperwork they were trying to do.
Also, not the hotel’s fault,we were charged visitors tax, which if you arrive late and leave on an onward journey in the morning.What are we visiting ?

I’ll just start by saying I’m a guy who often travels solo and has booked a lot of cheap hotels, never shied away from a gross hotel in the name of affordability, been appropriately disappointed in cheap hotels - pretty much never left a negative review on something. I’m not a review guy- but I felt the need to leave a positive review on this place (that I booked on the same day, btw) because the price was at the level of a shitty hotel you might be disappointed in - frankly it’s great. Very clean room, very attentive service, 24h reception, food/drink at all times, breakfast great, bathroom clean, above average shower - whole thing was really pleasant. Highly recommend.
