The hotel is very charming with an interesting design. Its location was perfect for us as it was right next to the beach. The room is very spacious. The reception team was extremely nice.
On our third morning there, the cleaning lady opened the door to our room at 9.30 without warning. She did knock once but did not wait for us to answer. Since we were half asleep, it was not a great experience.

We had a pleasant stay at this charming hotel located in the town center. The convenience of having a nearby parking lot was much appreciated, especially since we were traveling by car. The hotel's authentic character truly enhanced our experience.
However, we did find that the windows of our room faced the ocean and overlooked a lively street, which could be quite bustling at night. This may be something to consider if you're looking for a quieter environment to rest, particularly before 2 AM.

The hotel had upgraded us to a superior room which gave us a view of the sea. The location was excellent for walking along the seafront to the Aquarium but also around the town. Restaurants were close by too.

The room was very spacious with 2 comfortable armchairs and table provided. 2 armchairs in a double room is something not often found in our experience. The breakfast was of good quality, especially the variety of fruit, seeds and nuts provided.
The shower over the bath was not really well sealed and we would have preferred a shower on its own.
The room lighting was not very good with the need for more light on occasions. The very dark light switches were not easy to see and so made using the lighting awkward at times.

Low service standard for room cleaning, no amenities set and room cleaning has to be solicited twice before it got done. Dirty dishes and cups were not taken away from the room fir substitution after the first night

Position of the hotel is excellent, staff are pleasant though not effective. Having a secure car park is a bonus
We reported problems with our room: The sink in our bathroom leaked badly, the toilet also leaked, we were unable to stop the bath tap from running while the shower was in operation, the nespresso machine was broken, the room wasn’t properly cleaned and breakfast on both days of our stay was a complete shambles. It was an excessively expensive destination considering all the above issues.

Lovley Hotel in a fabulous location overlooking the sea and close to bus stops. Hotel reception staff were so friendly and welcoming. Room was serviced every day during our stay
On arrival noticed that the toilet hadn't been cleaned and was stained. Breakfast very expensive and no later meal available. The bar man wasn't at all friendly, ignored us when trying to order a drink outside during service hours even though there was no one in the inside bar

The hotel is a very beautiful art deco building, right by the main city beach. Even though the building is old, the windows seal perfectly so you do not hear any noise from the street in the night.
The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Especially Ignazio at the breakfast and his colleagues did all above and beyond the possible to make us feel welcome.
Parking is available close to the hotel for a fee.
It is rather pricey but worth it.
As non-French person, I would imagine the breakfast choices to be wider, e.g. an omelette and more fruits and vegetables.

The location was good.
If you are going to stay in the hotel, make sure you do not stay on a hot day, because the air-conditioning system in the Plaza Biarritz is not fit for purpose.
The air-conditioning stopped working in my 11-year-old daughter’s room and she collapsed due to overheating during the night as the room got so hot. We had to rush her to the emergency hospital doctor’s at 6am. Thank goodness for the Air France crew who happened to be in hotel reception who have her some medication to help!
At the time the hotel was full, the manager was very apologetic, who gave us one single camp bed, but we were not moved for the next night. Suffice to say, the air-conditioning stopped working again, and I got hardly any sleep.
On the third night, they moved my wife and daughter to another room, but this time the air-conditioning in the first room (we had two rooms) stopped working.
Most of the staff we spoke to, the maintenance and air-conditioning engineers (we saw them) all agreed that there was an issue with the air-conditioning. It seems guests at the hotel have a lot of problems. It was very clear to us that it is old and unstable, and needs replacing.
What made our situation worse was the manager then offered to discount a third off one of the rooms for the duration of the stay, which we thought was fair considering we had practically no sleep at the hotel.
However, it turned out he had lied to us, because as soon as we left, his boss overruled him, with a 15% off one night of one room offer. Eventually he relented and gave us 50% off just one night of one room, despite we had hardly slept because of the issues.
His attitude was appalling, and he even told us we should be grateful that we had a bed! He behaved as though we were refuges, not guests paying a lot of money for a supposed four star hotel!
He even claimed that he had spoken to my 11-year-old daughter and that she had told him she was fine. This I found extremely disturbing as he did no such thing. He did not

Couldn’t find the car park at first as it is not next to the hotel albeit close by. Perhaps reference to it in the booking details would be useful.

Perfect location. Breakfast offers multiple variations for all tastes and preferences, even with fresh orange juice and crepes. Fresh water and snacks available in the reception room. Coffee mashine, tea kettle and water available in the room.
Slippers would be suggested to add in the room. Shampoos and creams must be filled up and checked after cleaning the room.
