Traveling over 30 years across the globe visited over 60 countries and hardly ever experienced such poor price/real value and services ratio.
No proper table available in the room, no shelves for hygiena items, no case for clothing. No glasses or plexiglass cups available in the bathroom, just rubber containers bending in your hand when you tried to hold it.

The breakfast was wonderful with a wide selection (including unlimited fresh squeezed orange juice, which I’ve never before experienced). Most friendly staff. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the train station, and only about a 10 minute walk from the town center, so the location is incredibly convenient.

Says it is dog friendly, even gave our dog a doggie pack, only to find we could not take her into the restaurant for breakfast due to hygiene reasons. Whilst I accept their rules I could not find anywhere on their website that told me dogs were not allowed in the restaurant. The advice was to take a tray to my room and eat my breakfast there. €14.90 for a couple of pieces of toast, a half raw boiled egg and coffee while perched on the end of my bed!! The cost of my second mornings breakfast was refunded after a discussion with the manager

We stayed here for three nights across three rooms and honestly, for the value, you can’t fault this hotel. It feels recently renovated, with modern, well thought out rooms that make the most of the building’s older style (as is common in France).
One of room categories was a twin room, as that was literally all that was left to book, but when we arrived the nice guy at check in explained that they didnt have a twin room anymore so had a double room set up with a single sofa bed set up in it... This was absolutely fine for us as it was only 1 person staying there and we would have booked. Double had it been available at the time!
The bed was large and very comfortable, with handy plugs right by it so you don’t have to charge your phone across the room. The TV, coffee pod machine, and overall layout were excellent. The bathroom was small but modern and practical, with a powerful shower, big mirror with good lighting, and separate access to the toilet.
As with many French buildings, the lift is small and here it doesn’t reach the very top floor. If you’re on the 5th floor, you’ll need to use a spiral staircase. It wasn’t an issue for us, but definitely worth mentioning to the hotel when booking if you have mobility concerns or heavy luggage.
Breakfast was very decent - not huge, but covering everything you could want. Pastries, multiple breads, cold cuts, cheeses, fruit, cereals, pancakes, spreads, plus hot options like scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, and even a “boil your own egg” machine I’d never seen before! The coffee, despite being machine coffee, was actually very decent too. Too many hotels I've been to have those machines and it's an acrid brown watery mess.
The hotel also has a bar and serves food until late, which is very handy, as we found out, Caen can be tricky if you’re trying to eat after 8:30pm. Staff were absolutely lovely: warm, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay.
Tight parking. Not really a dislike... they are limited on space as it's a city centre property, and everyone has a big car these days, much bigger than when the city was rebuilt. It got a bit like Tetrus at some points, so I'd say add and extra 10 minutes on your journey time to leave or to park up as you could be faffing around with cars!

I did not realise until the day I checked in that the car park needs to be booked ahead and is very small. We were lucky there was a space at 15/eur per day. If not we would have had to use a nearby car park at 15/eur for 8h, or 30/eur per day.

The room and the bathroom are so small. We can barely move around. No drawers to put your clothes away. I am a petite woman, average height, feel really cramped there. I was not able to even properly wash my face in that tiny sink. We stayed outdoors most of the time though it was cold and windy. We stayed in the lobby area if we could because we just don’t like the tiny space of our room.

This was such a pleasant surprise to find this really cool hotel so close to the station. Apart from the full breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and very good coffee ( terrific value for money) the hotel was also very quiet, clean and most importantly, walking distance to the important historical sites. There was an abundance of good restaurants and patisseries all around too. The hotel staff was helpful on guiding us through navigating the streets too.

As we had a disabled member of our party they were particularly attentive to his needs. Tram stop within 100 metres and restaurants all over the place. For the Normandy tour and history of William the Conqueror could not do better than Caen
