The location is excellent and you get a great night sleep. The staff are a very friendly team.
The system that is used to access the outdoor pool area doesn’t work. Every single person that tries to access it/leave it has to get help from another guest. The constant noise of the gate buzzing and banging prevents you from having any relaxation .

it is well located, the bed was comfortable, the room had space
the hotel does not own a pool as advertised. In fact it is the pool of another hotel. It is incredible that they advertise in their main photo a pool, but the pool is in another building! You habe to
cross the street to go to the pool, to have breakfast, to talk to someone from reception. The hotel is like an annex and too expensibe for what it really is. Also, users should know that the parking costs 15€ per day. Two other things: No elevator and the toilet had a huge window over it where it was possible to see people from the next building. It is amazing that they do not cover this.

The location is great and the view from the terrace is fantastic - it's right next to the mediaeval city and an easy 10-minute walk into the centre of the modern town. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were nice, although in a separate building from the hotel. The room was small and the bathroom tiny but had everything you need so not a problem for a one-night stay.

The hotel was 1 minute walk from the Citadelle and the view was magnificent.
The breakfast on the outside terrasse with the view on the Citadelle was delicious and consisted of local organic products.
The room was away from the main building and facilities with a road to cross.

we liked the location, so close to the old city. The room was spacious and we liked the garden outside each room. we liked the beautiful dog and how he was part of the team at the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, reception area has a gorgeous terrace overlooking the walled city.
we were disappointed with outdoor pool, we were told it was heated, but it wasn't. The jacuzzi was heated however was temperamental, working only briefly. When we inquired as to where the indoor pool facilities were we were advised that it was only available if we were to book spa treatments unless we were willing to pay 30 euro each for 30 minutes. We declined that offer and returned back to the broken jacuzzi.
the room although was spacious was decorated very strangley, everything was red and black. the floors were grubby looking, although they had an industrial looking finish, they were dirty in the corners. The shower was a also grubby, with dried residue on the door. The beds were large and comfortable, very clean however the pillows were awful, too soft.
The garden furniture is poor quality and dirty looking. Bedrooms did not have any comfortable seating and lighting was very poor, with a shortage of areas for 4 people to get ready comfortably.
We found bar very expensive, we returned from dinner one evening for a night cap and was charged 54 euro for 1 glass of house white and 3 glasses of baileys. We did not return for another. Breakfast is available for guests at 18 euro, again very expensive when other facilities charge 10 euro max for a gorgeous selection of pastries, coffee, fresh juice and breads. We did not order breakfast for that reason.
On the last day when we were checking out we were paying for the hotel car park ( which is 15 euro per day, on their premises...this is very unusual as most hotels with parking facilities do not charge), we were then charged city tax of 2.30euro per person, per day. this took us by surprise as we assumed this was included in our booking price, if it wasn't included, we should have been advised on arrival.
As we were returning to our car we were walking down the tiled steps approx 12 steps, there had been rain that morning and the tiles were to my detriment slippy.

If there is anything i can fault, it would be the colour choices of the rooms. While the hotel itself is extremely pleasing and well designed, I would like to add that the rooms all seem to be quite garish in colour. Some toned down less harsh shades in the design features of the room would align the rooms luxury with the rest of the hotel. Just a slight observation.

The room was smaller than expect, not enough space to store our luggage; a quite used bathroom - visible signs of demage.

This property had a great location right next to the walled city. The breakfast was good as well
We asked the staff for a taxi for 4 and all luggage. The ride came and it was small so we were forced to take two rides. In stead of 20 on Uber it cost us 50. It felt like this was done purposely and that there was a relationship with this driver… it wasn’t even a taxi. Also our room was too hot and they wouldn’t allow the air conditioner to be used which forced us to leave the patio door open… not cool

We had a very enjoyable 1 night stay, we loved the location right next to the castle. We had secure parking which is a must for us . The room was nice and clean with a contemporary feel.
The staff were very nice and helpful .
It’s difficult to say what we didn’t like as there wasn’t anything , the only part which I was less than satisfied was the fact that we had to pay €15 for the overnight parking .

There are effectively two "sister" hotels. The bedrooms of the Montmercy are not as nice as the ones situated in the main hotel, which has all the facilities. However, this is reflected by the price and was great value for money. The room did the job. You are able to use all the facilities of the other hotel which is rather lovely and has THE most amazing view up to the walls of Carcassonne. It is literally just across the road. We loved the bar and had supper in there and played Carcassonne. The ambience was terrific and the staff went above and beyond, what great service and hospitality! We paid extra for secure parking and it was excellent.
The entrance and stairs to our room was scruffy and worn as were the decorations in the bedrooms.

Staff were very pleasant and petit dejeuner was very nicely prepared and served.
We arrived tired for a one night stay. So I did not want to spend the overnight stay complaining and moving rooms.
The worst was that the toilet cabinet smelled of a sewer leak. The shower door was difficult to close. The heat was insufficient, even when turned up higher. Curtains covered one of the radiators, a potential fire hazard. There were no luggage racks. Also the room layout was misleading, I though each room would have equal access to the bathroom, but instead you had to walk through one bedroom to access the bathroom.

We live in France so the stop over was enroute for our extended stay on the south coast. The hotel location was superb, so close to the old town entrance. Hotel was easy to locate when driving in.
We stayed in winter so the hotel outside facilities were obviously not in use. Staff mentioned the jacuzzi was open, but the pool and jacuzzi area were covered in leaves so jacuzzi not usable. No hotel evening restaurant available, unless you wanted microwave heated pots. Walking to a local hotel (5 Minutes) was a very good choice. Not a 4 star hotel.

The staff are warm and accommodating and it’s right across the street from the medieval city.
Please know that if you book the hotel and not the chateau, you are in a building across the street. The reception area is very charming, while the rooms across the street are not. There, all the rooms are garish and uncomfortable, extremely small. We moved from a neon orange room where we couldn’t open a suitcase without having step over it to use the bathroom, to a slightly bigger neon yellow room with absolutely no air circulation. The room was stifling even though it was early April. A kind person at reception found a fan for us but it was still very stuffy. And there was no window to open. Even though we don’t spend a lot of time in our hotel rooms, you want to open the door and feel like it’s a place you can rest and relax. That did not happen here and we couldn’t wait to leave.

Hotel outside seating area was very welcome after a day walking about with a perfect view.
Breakfast was an additional E18. Lots of bread. Might be good to have the option of just coffee and croissant.
Room decor too garish for me.
Pool was outside and clearly not ready to use. Jacuzzi was covered up.
The room was in a building across a busy road. I did not feel secure in room 32 as it was on ground floor and could be approached through a gap in the hedge from anyone or from neighbouring room through shared outside space.

Unfortunately the description on Booking is very misleading considering that pictures of the 4 Star Hotel are mixed with those of the 3 stars Montmorency Hotel. The description "& SPA" is also misleading considering that the SPA has to be booked in advance BUT this is not indicated (and of course there wasn't any availability for the two following days). To reach the 3 star Hotel you have to cross a road and it is therefore very difficult to use the pool of the 4 STAR hotel (bathrobe is not provided). No fridge in the room and a lot of dust both in the room and in the entrance. And not acceptable that in the entrance of an Hotel four trolleys of dirty laundry were basically parked there until 6 pm ... not just left during the cleaning service. Not acceptable to book an "& SPA" Hotel and end -up with a dusty laundry deposit.

Location, location, location! A stones throw from the medieval city. Airport bus stops outside the hotel and only takes 15mins.
Room and bathroom we're exceptionally small. Had to sit on the toilet sideways as sink in the way. Shower impossible to turn on unless you are standing underneath it. Bedroom too small for two people. We were also told the pool and jacuzzi were open and how warm the water was, but got there and it was covered and no water in jacuzzi!

The location was great. The room had a/c and a clothes dryer you could extend across bath to dry swimsuits. The big jug of apple juice at breakfast. The pool was nice.
The photos on the website gave a false impression, there are no grounds or outdoor space to speak of really. The breakfast was far too expensive for what it was. The pool didn't open until 10am or something so you can't do a 6am early swim. The pool is pretty busy too. I expected there to be grounds where you could sit outside, but there is literally a couple of benches by the entrance. The music they played at outside dining area was loud and awful. The staff weren't that friendly. The car parking was very expensive.

Ive stayed here a few times before as the location and the pool area are great and a nice place to sit in the sunshine and while away a few hours with a glass of rose if the weather is good.
Certain aspects are disappointing for me. No kettle or fridge in the room and no room service either so its not easy to request a morning cup of tea or coffee unless you wish to take this in the dining area or take back to the room. Breakfast again is very disappointing.....I expect a good fresh croissant in France at the very least but they seem to be of the frozen variety and fruit is not pre-prepared so not so appetizing. The indoor pool is also only available if you book a treatment.

The weather! Just kidding. That was not the hotel’s fault but we did really miss being able to lounge by the pool all day like we did last time.
I upgraded to a slightly bigger room and the bathroom area was a bit tired looking. I think it could do with a little update. The shower didn’t drain properly but I forgot to report that.

Perfect location, right at the entrance to the medieval citadel. Nice, clean rooms. Parking available at the hotel. Bar open up until late in the night. Everything was good.
It is a nice hotel, but nothing special. We had an error with the booking - our fault, but the hotel didn’t help although they could have + their call center said they would. I feel like not everything should be about how to squeeze more money from your clients.

The perfect location just outside the walls of Carcassonne. Friendly and welcoming staff, clean room with a private terrace and wonderful morning breakfast. The spa is definitely worth the trip alone. I had a lovely experience there.

It was super close to the castle and beautiful views. The decoration was modern and staff was very friendly. Excellent breakfast too.
The room we stayed had a very smalll bathroom. The toilet and the shower were separated and it was a little claustrophobic. I saw another room that was bigger so if I’ll stay there again I would go for a bigger room. But it was only one night so it was ok.
