Located in the heart of Le Mans and housed in a classic building dating back to 1906, Hôtel Concordia Le Mans Center Gare is only a 9-minute walk from the Mans Train Station. Nice old hotel. Cool old room in good condition. Great bed. Had A/C. 9min walk from train station, 5 min walk to town square, 15 min to historic old town. Has tram station in 50m from hotel.

A/C had to be re-activated every ~3-4hrs. Hotel says they have wi-fi and you can see the SSID, but it doesn’t work at all. Other reviewers say it hasn’t worked for a long time.

The mattress is extraordinary comfy. Staff is polite, I arrived 1 hour late after midnight and they are kind enough to managed all the payment in the morning. Parking is indoor. Perfect for hot sunny days.

The soap bottle was empty, facial tissue box was empty, but they replace with new ones once you told them. A little noisy at night, but not too much. Tram lines are in front of the hotel made driving a little confused.

The location.

My room was not ready yet when l arrived in the evening. The staff were friendly, but disorganized. Maybe to do with shortage of staff in the middle summer ? There was no water bottle in the room ( There was before), so l had to drink the tap water…The breakfast was no worth for the money quality-wise. The hotel itself has classical ambiance, but it would need to renovate as it looked outdated.

Person on reception when we arrived was u helpful and there was an issue with our booking. Area is really dodgy at night. Rooms smelt stale, incredible loud banging all throughout the hotel. Couldn’t work out what the noise was. Sofa bed for kids was v uncomfortable. No kettle in room and was v hard to have one brought to us. I was ordering in French but the person on reception was quite u helpful.

The hotel is famous and very convenient in the centre of Le Mans

They are missing a trick here. The hotel is the one featured in the film Le Mans starring Steve McQueen. They really need to use this for marketing purposes. As it was the hotel is a little tired and could do with a revamp. As I said if they marketed the hotel properly they could do very well enabling them to upgrade the whole hotel.

The staff were mostly friendly. L'occitane products in the bathrooms. Some decent restaurants nearby (we didn't know when we booked that the restaurant would be closed during our stay).

A lot of things could have been better including: The bedrooms were ok but very average and dated. There are steps up to the hotel entrance so this hotel is no good for people with mobility issues. This was mentioned on the French version of the website but not on the English translation. No-one in our party (we had 3 rooms and some of the group are pretty tech savvy) could get the Wifi to work. If you need Wifi I wouldn't stay here. One of our party was woken very early in the morning by the telephone ringing and then someone in the corridor banging on the door. They had not asked for a wake-up call and really didn't appreciate this. We were double charged for tax and breakfast for all three rooms. After discovering this it took us four weeks(!) and a huge amount of hassle to get the money refunded. As we departed we needed to use the lift to get our very heavy bag downstairs. We had to wait for a very long time only finally to be confronted by three staff members in a lift full of bedding, toilet rolls etc. who didn't even acknowledge us and just carried on ferrying stuff up and down to service the bedrooms. We ended up having to drag our bag down the stairs. The breakfast was poor quality all round. Having to pay for parking was quite irritating.

We were greeted warmly by the girl on the front desk (unfortunately I didn’t take note of her name, but she spoke 3 languages). She was very helpful and was able to suggest a few places to eat if we required this information. We went to one of the suggestions and we had a very enjoyable meal in the old part of the town. She talked us through a proffered map, which was very useful and helpful.

As the hotel advertises that it has parking, I was disappointed that I couldn’t reserve a parking spot ahead of our arrival, however, on reaching the hotel around 5pm there were several spaces so we were lucky.

Comfortable hotel, clean rooms and public areas. Good location for us with easy access to historic Le Mans and a 10 minute walk to the station to catch the TGV to Paris. Our friends found the electric charging price rather high 25E

Lighting on the stairs is poor and care is required coming down from the 3rd floor as carpets are dark with no edging on the treads. Our shower was tepid to say the least, the water in the sink ran hot indicating that the shower thermostat limits weren't set properly. After a shower and breakfast, I mentioned this at reception whilst settling our bill and was offered use of another room for a second shower! We had no time with a pre-booked train, but even if we did have time, the offer doesn't make sense. A small discount was eventually offered. I hope they fix it for next guests. Shower temperature in our friends room was fine.

The location is a bit creepy. Didn’t feel safe. The staff was not helpful and knew very little English, communication was complicated. Parking was very limited, we parked outside and to this point I still am not sure whether it was allowed and legal because of the weekend or whether the man in the reception meant that it is not, but that the parking attendants don’t work on the weekend. The hotel and that part of town seemed to have known better days. There are traces of former glory in both the hotel and the town , but today they appear somewhat worn and past their prime.
