The air conditioning made a humming noise every minute and made it impossible to have a good sleep. The rain water shower did not work at all. The tv was sub standard. Although we rented because of the proximity to the train station, we were on the top floor inner courtyard and the train related noise was too great to have an open window.

Close to the station, warm welcome and recently upgraded areas with a focus on traveller needs (such as spotless, self-serve luggage lockers. The upgraded room was cheerful with many PowerPoints and a comfy bed. Bathroom has adequate bench space and is larger than expected. The hotel as next to frequent trams which can take you to most places of interest and is walking distance from the cathedral.
The breakfast rush (in two large rooms with breakout seating in the lobby) is intense!!!! Try to avoid peak times!!!!!

Despite failings listed below the staff did try to recitfy
Main Shower didn't work correctly and looked like it hadn't for a while only the hand held one did which leaked from connection and with no door on the shower water every where. Heating no control over had to ask for it to be turned down and even when they turned it down the temperature actually increased so only way to start to cool the room was to get them to turn it off.
No towels in room again had to ask.
No handle on sliding door for Bathroom

This is great hotel for a specific type of traveller. If you want a one or two nighf stay in Lyon if you want to be near the main station. The price is ok, comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Spotlessly clean. V quiet.
If you want to be in the historic core or you want a week of pampering then this isnt for you.

The staff were welcoming and happy for me to leave my bag for the day after I checked out.
The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot and strong.
There was a temperature screen on the wall that did not allow you to adjust the room temperature and could not be turned off, the light shining out of this kept me awake.
My room was on the 1st floor and the “balcony” was actually a gravel roof area shared by 3 other rooms so it didn’t feel safe to leave the door open.

Very good location for Part Dieu train station: 6 minutes' walk (or 10 if not very fast walker). Functional room: nothing exceptional, but nothing specifically missing.
If you have a room at the back, it literally overlooks the train line (see photo). It's actually not as bad as I expected (if only because there aren't that many trains at night as it's quadruple glazed), but ... it's still right next to like 10 train tracks.
