A/C did not work, room was VERY hot. It's not even that it was broken, but even when on the highest setting, it made very little difference in lowering the temperature. Staff at front desk that checked us in didn't speak English, but also refused to speak French with us (I even thought she didn't speak either language until I saw her speaking a very fast and fluent French the following night). Towels were too small. Cleaning staff knocked on our door a thousand times unless the do not disturb plaque was on the door-especially on check-out day, they came twice with less than 20minutes difference.

The room is perfectly essential and it has all needed if, like us, we were out all day exploring Marseille and come back just to sleep. Extremely well cleaned facility and well connected to city center with metro or train, even though you could also walk 25min to the old port. The value for money is the best part of this hotel. It really gets you what you really need and leave the supreficial.
The only downside was the reception in my opinion. 1. Did not have a basic map of the city, 2. poor english (for more articulated question they were calling for the manager to speak to us), 3. not able to suggest one thing to do in Marseille.
I still gave a 9 out of 10 for the whole experience, because these things can be easily fixed and I am sure management will take the necessary adjustment based on this constructive criticism I made here.
Another little issue was that the door of the shower was not closing perfectly and therefore everytime we were taking a shower the water was coming out. I think also this can be easily fixed with installing a larger piece of rubber on the glass door.

For a budget hotel, the standard was pretty high I'd say. Good value for money. Just 10 min walk to metro station. Very good breakfast included in price.
No real complaints. This was my 2nd stay here in a week and I'd certainly stay in Ibis hotels again.

The room was clean. Though small, it was reasonably well equipped (charging points, desk, chair, etc). It was not too far from the Metro (around 600 meters or so) and the bus stop was right outside the hotel..
Everyday at 9 in the morning, my door was rudely knocked at. I didn’t like that.
All the towels were put on the floor on the corridor which wasn’t clean at all. I know most people in Europe don’t mind throwing towels on the floor (in fact, hotels ask us to do so), keeping their shoed feet everywhere including on the bed etc., but seeing all the towels on the corridor made me not want to use hotel towels at all in future.

The room is okayish, only positive side of this place was the room. For what you pay it accommodates you normally, relatively clean and comfortable, however read below.
This area seemed very unsafe. You save money on the room but at the end of the day it may cost you even more, if you get robbed. Also, hotel reception did not provide me a company invoice, so if you are traveling for work be aware of this. All in all, would not recommend to stay there.

The whole floor smelt of cigarette smoke even though it was no smoking. There were marks on the window frame where it appeared someone in the past had tried to break in, and in general there were no checks for people going in so felt very insecure.
There were bags of rubbish outside the bedroom window on the roof.

That's a difficult question
No air conditioning, extremely small toilettes, very uncomfortable beds (my back still hurts) and impossible to open the windows to compensate for the temperature given extreme noises all night long. Even for a low budget, it is considerably uncomfortable. Don't believe the pictures, rooms are actually quite smaller. Even Booking should not allow fake photos with wide lenses.
