The location is ok. The hotel itself looks outdated and in need of renovation. They advertise with nice pictures of Place Stanislas, but it is not actually located there, but rather in a backstreet.
I made a booking mistake. Contacted Booking.com immediately to try and change the date. The hotel did not respond. Called the hotel and was told to call back the next day. The next date I was referred back to the app. After 3 days I got a response that did not address my concern. I therefore felt forced to make second booking with Mercure. 3 days later I was pointed out the booking conditions did not allow cancellation. The day after I did not show up my request was formally declined. I therefore paid double.

Why does the hotel show a photo of Place Stanislas? Both the name of the hotel and the online photo of Stanislas Square are (deliberately?) misleading. ‘Nancy Centre’ is fair, but it has no connection with Stanislas Square.
Although we’d already paid for our room, another £200 was ‘reserved’ on our card - and therefore unavailable to us - in case of ‘further expenses’. Even the young man who checked us out thought this was excessive. Our ‘expenses’ turned out to be £57 - for breakfast and parking. We were only staying one night!
The room was small and dreary. No minibar - fridge empty & unplugged. Insufficient plug sockets. Shower was over a (deep) bath and consequently inaccessible to anybody with any degree of limited mobility (like me). Breakfast was satisfactory but completely self service - including coffee, etc - and canteen-like. We paid over £240 for one night and were expecting better quality.

You can’t fault the location of this hotel, and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
The main entrance is on a busy road, which makes it tricky to stop and unload luggage directly in front.
The hotel’s car park has a very low ceiling, so it’s only suitable for standard-sized cars. Since we had a roof box, we had to park in a separate lot away from the hotel, meaning we had to carry our luggage back, which was inconvenient.
The room itself was a good size for French hotel, but the bathroom was very small. Unfortunately, the shower didn’t work properly, and the shampoo/body wash bottle was left empty.
Overall, the hotel, and especially our room, felt quite run-down and wasn’t as clean as we expected. It could definitely use some attention.

Property is in a great location within the city center. We were able to easily walk to the various Christmas markets and market square. The stay was very warm and attentive.
The bathroom was not clean. Upon entering our room someone had used the facilities but had not flushed the toilet and there were dried boogers or something on the counter top. Thankfully I always travel with Clorox cleaning wipes and wiped down everything in the room

The bathroom was renovated really badly, with a shower without a wall or a cabin. This resulted in water all over the bathroom.

The room size, the robe and slippers, huge bathroom, great pillows, room service, in-room fridge and safe, adjustable thermostat, location, helpful and friendly staff, and very clean. I would highly recommend this property.
Honestly the only thing I might suggest is having wash towels (lavettes) for the face (small, 25cm x 25cm).

The hotel is ideal for a night/ long weekend. Great position a little dated but more than acceptable in its current condition. Parking is super safe and close. Ideal if you have a nice car you cherish.

We stayed for two nights, but wish it was longer!
Breakfast was excellent!! 5* Best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had!!
Usual Continental Breakfast which was excellent!
Room was very nice, and beds very comfortable
Hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from Stanislas Square, which is magnificent
Lots of really good and reasonably restaurants around the Square
We had a fantastic pizza on the first night! (Yes, I know that we were in France!)
They made a Parisian pizza, with Emmental instead of mozzarella which was highly recommended to us, hence our visit there. Absolutely superb

The problem was that toilet pan had been fitted so close to the wall, it was difficult to use comfortably. We were at the top of the hotel, so maybe other rooms were better (Ours was 303)

Super sized room, very comfortable bed, very large bed. Really good sized TV that allowed us to log on to Netflicks with ease. Breakfast was extensive and very well organised by a very efficient lady and her team. There were facilities to allow eggs to be cooked to our liking as well as good scrambled eggs prepared by the house that kept on coming. Hot bread was available both days we were there…..we would have stayed longer if we could. This was our first trip Nancy it is a beautiful city great to walk around with a good choice of restaurants not far from the hotel. We found a super place called Le Gentille Homme run by a larger than life gentleman who had run the National portrait Gallery restaurant for a number of years……look him up its great fun there and the food is excellent.

The staff were simply the best at making me feel welcome and helping me navigate Nancy for my one-night stay. And its breakfast the next morning was quite literally the best breakfast I have ever had in any hotel / Gasthaus / accommodation / bed & breakfast across Europe! After living over five years in England & Germany, plus traveling through over 15 European countries, I was greatly impressed!
I found nothing I did not like at this property. No complaints nor problems.

Location is the main asset here, specifically for all 'Stanislaus' places and sightseeing. Breakfast was quite a feast. Parking is juts across the yard, even though parking a taller or larger car may be a problem.
It disappointed us. Service was only so-so. Room was unpleasant: drafty and smelly, and the staff was not able to make it better (or change the room). Sleeping was a challenge. Eventually we ended up with allergic reactions. We left one day earlier than planned just to escape from it.
