Location is a plus for the hotel, so close to the beach and restaurants. Shoot out to the lady responsible for the breakfast which was extremely clever and polite with us.
It is NOT what I did not like, but instead, a recommendation to elevate the hosts experience. The hotel have some perks like free beach tents, breakfast options with different and good prices that should be more disclosed and known during the stay. Definitely this will bring even more value to the customer experience.

We enjoyed our stay at this small hotel. It's only a 15 minute walk from the railway station, a couple of minutes from the promenade, and very convenient for shops and restaurants.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and quiet. We enjoyed the breakfast, and if the weather had been just a little bit warmer we would have eaten out on the patio!
The hotel has an environmentally friendly ethos. Guests can choose 'no housekeeping' and be given a small reduction on the cost of the room. (We did this, but our sheets and towels were still changed! Perhaps that was a mistake...)

These rooms are TINY! I’ve stayed in NYC and had larger. My clam-style suitcase had to be opened on the desk. It was definitely a C- for bathroom cleanliness; there was evidence of the guests before us, and the door didn’t fully shut. However, we didn’t spend a ton of time in the room.

The lobby had a persistent sewage smell, which was unpleasant every time we walked through. For the price, the room was extremely small—especially for one located outside the courtyard. The so-called "garden view" wasn't worth it, as the outdoor tables are positioned in a way that people can easily see into your room, making it feel far from private.
It would have been nice if they provided basic amenities like shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel—bar soap alone doesn’t cut it anymore. Overall, nothing stood out or went above and beyond. Just okay—not worth the cost.

The hotel is in a great location, only a block from the Promenade des Anglais. Plenty of restaurants and cafes are in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room and bathroom were modern and comfortable.

The staff were so kind and helpful. I accidentally left my kindle in the bed and when they found it, they called the taxi I was in to alert me - we were able to come back and get it and still made it to the airport with plenty of time. I appreciated that they went the extra step.
Our room was smaller than I expected, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom, while simple, had everything we needed.

Good location, easy to access to the beaches and city center, yet a bit away from the noise. There are many good cafe downstairs.
The bathroom is very small, literally had to move around to avoid hitting the hairdryer installed on the wall while trying to go to the toilet. The space of the room is also very small, there is no space to open the luggage completely. The drain in the shower room and sink were bad.

Some moldy spots in the shower, would deserve a little update, felt a bit outdated.
We also got only two Nescafé coffee packets and two Nespresso pods along with just 4 sugar packs only for the whole stay, 4nights. At least one coffee serving per person per day would seem appropriate. I saw a sign on the front desk counter saying 1 euro per extra Nespresso pod, it feels a little steep if you don’t even get one a day per person. Not a big deal though, there are cafes right outside the hotel opening at 7am.

I believe since I’m a solo traveler, I’ve been given the smallest room that was available. The window was very small that was looking to a building façade that’s about 2 m away. I told them that there were big windows on the listing photos. this isn’t what I booked . They told me there are no other rooms available.

The hotel was perfectly located, the patio was extremely charming, the staff was warm-welcoming, and everything was clean.
The bathrooms definitely needed a renovation and the breakfast choice was extremely poor (which is a very common thing all over France).

I stayed at the Hotel de la Fontaine for five nights and have nothing but praise. Starting with the staff, who are attentive and helpful. The location is perfect—very close to the Promenade des Anglais, the beach, with numerous cafes and shops nearby. My room was immaculate, very welcoming, and a good size. I had parking available, less than a minute's walk away, with a discount for longer stays, starting from 3 days.
I wholeheartedly recommend it because it is a hotel that offers excellent value for money in the heart of Nice.
