The owner needs to spend some money to re vamp it. It's seriously needs to upgrade facilities & to include technological changes. Usb ports in rooms would be great and more electrical PowerPoint's. The kitchen is very dismal. No power point where they put the kettle. You have to put kettle on top of microwave to boil it.

I have stayed at the Vila Lumbung many times and this time I got another version of their best rooms. I have also stayed in their cheaper less luxurious hotel rooms but prefer the best ones that are half a little 2-storey house. Normally these are quite expensive, but given the season (more rain) and availability of discounts (Black Friday etc.) I got a real bargain. It was a family room with the usual big bedroom/lounge area and large (but, unusual for a ground floor room) inside bathroom (with bath and separate shower), plus a separate room suitable for children/one adult, and a separate kitchen with larger fridge and basic tools and plates and cutlery! The location as always is great - lots of fine dining locations nearby. This time I could also buy food to eat in my room with ease which was excellent.
The weather - bit damp for hanging around the pool but OK.

The hotel staff is very attentive.
Breakfast was simple but fair.
The room was quite spacious and the outdoor toilet was nice (but the bathtub was not properly for use)
Need ASAP more lighting as bit dark
Hotel facilities are super rundown.
The pool was not clean and most of the seats and lounges were broken
The gym advertised was under a dark room with barely any equipments, strong mould smell.
Location has a few restaurants and shops around but far from main Seminyak.

Great pool with pool bar. Good restaurant and breakfast buffet. Staff were friendly and location was good. Had a couple things that we didn't like but still a great stay none the less.
Our room wasn't the best kept. It had a bit of mould smell and was a bit dated. On our last night the fan in the bathroom fell through due to heavy rain but we informed the staff as we were leaving that morning it happened. Also someone had turned off the fridge so it had defrosted and was full of water when we arrived.

Great location!, Close to many cafes & bars, 5 minutes by scooter to the main shopping district. Staff was super friendly & happy to help. Room was a good size for one person or a couple & cleaned everyday.
My room was connected to another room via another door which at times you could hear the noise from the other room.
Bathroom facilities are bit dated & the wifi could be slow at certain times.

Moreover, the staff's hospitality and attentiveness truly enhanced the overall enjoyment of my stay, leaving me with fond memories and a desire to return.
While my stay at Vila Hotel Lumbung was overall enjoyable, there were a few aspects that could be improved. The internet connection was often unreliable, and the constant need to enter passwords became tedious. Additionally, I found the lack of facilities in the cupboards to be somewhat disappointing. However, despite these minor inconveniences, I still thoroughly appreciated my time at the hotel and would consider returning in the future.

The villas and grounds are very aged and not well kept. There was gecko poo on our bath for 3 days!! There were so many mosquito's, and asked staff to spray the room, and they stated they had nothing available. Had to sleep wearing deet, but mozzie buzzed in ear all night.
The pool area is very dated and not well maintained. They placed a family in our adjoining room despite the place being half empty, and we could hear their conversations almost word for word!!!

Great Seminyak location. Easy walk to beach, Eat St, Beach Bars, Seminyak village and flea market.
Amazing staff - from Lobby, bar, restaurant, spa, housekeeping and security - everyone was so friendly and interested in making sure that we had a pleasant stay.
Lumbungs are all situated in beautiful tropical gardens.
Good size swimming pool.
Good breakfast options.

It was very traditional with the wooden pitched roofs in the delux villas. Amazing gardens and nice pool. The staff were amazing.
They were conducting renovations in the room below us. This meant we had no water or power at certain times of the day.
We went and spoke to reception about it, they moved us rooms instantly, which was amazing.

The location is a bit of a walk to the beaches, however Bluebird Taxi is so cheap and quick.
Breakfast is a typical buffet the pool is great.
Some of the music played during the middle of the day was a bit loud and some rap songs with lots of swearing not a good look with kids around
Room is spacious n clean. Location is good with a lot of eateries, massage, mini mart, laundry around. Only disappointment is slow wifi.

The pool area was amazing with multi levels one near the swim up bar and one larger area with a basketball ring, would be perfect for families with children. The location was good too close to a busy street however far enough back that you didn’t hear anything whilst at the hotel.
The rooms were visibly old and run down. Things like the shower not being functional brought the other aspects of the room that weren’t exception to the forefront. Within the restaurant area there were three cats which roamed around and went into the kitchen as well as through patrons legs. They weren’t vicious or unfriendly however became in the way sometimes.

I loved the authenticity of the place and the staff were absolutely amazing! My youngest sister was a bit apprehensive about the geckos around which is a natural occurrence in Bali. It was her first time in Bali, so it was not quite a surprise to me.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was beautifully traditional and spacious. The pool area and grounds were maintained well. The location had lots of great restaurants within walking distance.
We were excited to stay at the resort looking at the pictures on the listing. The facilities need upgrading. For example the shower head in our room sprayed everywhere. The exercise room had broken equipment and the AC didn't work very well at all. The breakfast was limited in choice and the condiments and ingredients appeared to be low quality.

The gym was AWFUL - so hot and the machines are so old or broken. The WIFI also barely works regardless of where you are in the hotel which is a massive drawback. A few fixes could make this hotel a lot better - a clear lack of maintenance

Great staff and we upgraded to the large 3 bedroom villa with massive amount of space. Nice pool, swim up bar, helpful and friendly staff, great value transport and great value for money. 5 minute walk to Potato Head day club and excellent Italian restaurant and great value beauty salon for massages at top of entrance. Probably 30 minutes walk to flea market. Seminyak is really best for shopping, rather than beaches. Breakfast was ok but bit limited.
Probably common to most Bali properties; poor wifi, being older it was generally a bit tired and needing of maintenance. Half of the light switches in the villa are nonfunctional so made it difficult to know how to turn lights on and off. murky pool water (needs more chlorine).

The swimming pool area is amazing, and the garden is beautiful as well. The staff are so friendly that they make you feel right at home. Breakfast is a 10—delicious, with different options every day. There's free drinkable water available all day in the lobby, and each guest receives one complimentary bottle of water per day in their room.
The rooms are a bit old and have some things that could use fixing or updating.

I stayed at Hotel Vila Lumbung and found the property outdated and poorly maintained. The rooms are spacious but feel neglected, with dim lighting and bathrooms that need repair. Breakfast was very basic and repetitive, and the dinner was equally disappointing—it lacked freshness and unfortunately gave me a stomach upset. While the location is convenient, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations. The hotel has potential but urgently needs renovation and better food quality. I would have preferred staying in Kuta instead of Seminyak

Hotel Vila Lumbung is a little slice of Balinese paradise in a great location, but tucked away and nice and quiet. We have stayed many times before and will stay many times again. Staff are wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in an upstairs Deluxe Lumbung room which are huge and balinese style with thatched roofs. Beds and pillows are comfy, shower pressure is great and bathroom provides toiletries too. Restaurant food is delicious and breakfast buffet is ample. We love Hotel Vila Lumbung and will be back again next year.

Breakfast was included, location of resort was in central Seminyak (easily walk/taxi anywhere). Great for families and groups (even if you're on a budget). Very easy to walk to cafes, convenient stores etc. Rooms were cleaned daily. Staff were always super friendly and very helpful - biggest asset to the property. Loved they offered extra services for medical services (if needed) and affordable Spa treatments. The resort overall gave a nice feel 'home' feel with its lush gardens and lay-out of units.
It is a little out-dated and in need of an upgrade ie: Gym equipment needs to be upgraded/serviced and billiard table & balls probably could do with a regular clean
