Beautiful location that was enhanced by exceptional weather during our three day stay in West Cork. The staff were courteous and helpful at all times. We will definitely return for another weekend break.
Gulf stream restaurant menu wasn't to our taste, we dined in the Bistro, I would not recommend, the food is expensive and is not good. We both tried different dishes over the 2 nights and the quality was poor and the portions are small. Crab roll is mostly sauce and for €25 a rob. I would recommend taking the time to go to clonakilty. After the first night we planned to, however returning late from an excursion meant we had no choice but to dine there.

We very much enjoyed the location and the pool which was very welcome in view of the weather. Enjoyable meals in the bar although vegetarian options could be extended (this applies to most places). My husband left a cap in the room and the hotel was kind enough to send it on to us. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts sitting by the window with the wonderful view.
The lift was not working. We had a long walk into Clonakilty in the rain. This is not the hotel's fault, but public transport could be better for those who are not motorised.

The food in The Bistro was delicious. We ate there both nights, staff were very friendly. One of the staff in particular, Jamie, was so friendly and helpful and easy to talk to.
We had 2 single beds pushed together for the first night, but housekeeping sorted that for the 2nd night.

The location of this hotel is superb, Inchydowney beach which is directly accessed is one of the most beautiful in Ireland and all rooms face out to the sea, the staff are welcoming and friendly, the pool and spa are exceptional, it is just a fabulous spot.
It would have been great if the menu contained more choice for vegetarians and perhaps less fried food generally.

The staff as always were lovely and pleasant. Rooms clean. Staff willing to help when needed to swap our coffee machine and give us use of the service elevator. I had to convert to Lattes which were lovely and very hot. I complained about noise of pipes and was offered to change rooms but I refused as it was our last night and we had so much stuff that it would have taken from enjoying our time there. The lounge was brilliant with lovely relaxing music. The furniture there is fab. The beach was fantastic as always.
Elevator was broken the four days we were there,I had a large pram&staff let us use the service elevator. Breakfast was very busy when we arrived one of the mornings and we waited for so long for condiments that I'd finished my breakfast already.Cappacinos were horrible.Coffee machine was broken in our room.The staff swapped it for another kindly however that didn't do anything much more than the previous machine.We heard the pipes rattling when people in other rooms took showers and I could hear them going to the toilet too!! My bed was comfortable and could have fit three people but the single bed was too soft and my mothers back was so sore after it.
The floor in the downstairs bar was filthy!! I stayed here this time last year and it was beyond excellent. Maybe they were trying harder to keep people coming back to stay again.....which worked in our case. This year was like they weren't as bothered. Indecisive whether I'll return next year.
One of the roads to get to Clonakilty was constantly flooded as it was raining and stormy.Alternative route highly recommended....less scary.
