Double glazing could be a good option as it’s very noisy, late night music and street noise not a problem if you are out yourselves, if not, then little chance of sleeping as music and street noise very loud. Early morning traffic noise and barrel deliveries etc will wake you up, easily rectified with new windows.
No hooks for your coats and no facilities for clothing to be put away, which isn’t really too much of a problem, slight trip hazard in the room we stayed in as there is a raised area running the full length of the room under the carpet.
Would definitely stay again regardless of the above.

The location is great, very convenient, close to many things. Nice room.
I realized that it wouldn't be quiet on the street with so many bars when choosing this option, but it was much louder than I expected: different music from outside, people talking and laughing loudly until the early morning, and then the garbage truck collecting the glass bottles very early - there was hardly a bit of sleep, unfortunately.

The location was fantastic. In the heart of the action. Close to the river, close to pubs and restaurants. It was my first trip to Dublin. Glad I picked Norseman.
The noise. The street noise was loud. Now, you are offered ear plugs to offset the noise. However, the noise is expected. I do not recommend this hotel for people children. There was no closet space or even a hook on the wall to hang anything. No under bed storage or dressers. Our luggage was all over our room.

We had an issue with the electricity in our room (room 5) whereby when using the kettle and watching TV at the same time tripped the fuse on multiple occasions. To resolve this we had to go downstairs and ask the bar staff who quickly fixed the issue.
The extractor fan in the bathroom was full of dust and had clearly not been cleaned for a while.

Our group had a great time! Location was perfect for our plans. Alex was very helpful, kind and funny. He was probably one of the hardest working staff members - he was everywhere from cleaning out bins in the early day to the bar in evening. In fact, we left Dublin for a few days and when we returned we went back to say hello and to bring new members of our group to meet him and to enjoy fun, music and drinks at The Norseman, but it was his night off! We will just have to return again in the future! The Norseman is my new favorite place to stay when in Dublin!
Beyond our control - there was a plumbing issue on our first day preventing shower use until later in the day. Not a major inconvenience, and it was resolved as quickly as possible and handled professionally by staff.
While it was disclosed upfront, there were lots of steps and no lifts - not a problem for those who are physically able, but we had members of our group who found it to be a challenge.

Room doesn’t have anywhere to hang a jacket or put your clothes which was annoying.
Check in wasn’t easy- we had to speak to bar staff who had to call someone else and we had to wait etc, then when we tried to use the door to the room we were given into trouble and told to go the other way (even though the staff member had taken us this way just a few hours prior). It was a bit all over the place..

Extremely loud being above the bar / even though it closed at 12, people were still partying and screaming in the streets until daylight. It was very hot, but you couldn’t open the window. The fan didn’t work. The apartment was clean but very small. For the price paid I don’t think the accommodation reflected what it is worth. We almost left to go somewhere else but decided to suck it up since it was so late. If I knew it would be so noisy and uncomfortable I wouldn’t have booked.

Convenient location to the pick up we had scheduled with a tour the following morning. I have never stayed over a bar before, and the check-in process of seeing a bartender was a bit odd, but overall, the location, room, and stay were just fine. Know that the street outside can get loud, so if you cannot sleep through everything like me, it could be a problem. The shower was hot, plenty of towels, and there was a place to stay for the evening at a more affordable price.
The only downside I could see would be noise, if people cannot sleep through it. They do provide earplugs if that is something that one would need.
