The staff were exceptional, so friendly and the service level was beyond expectations. The hotel is beautiful, the breakfast served on the amazing terrace was just a perfect way to start every day. We also loved the sundowners in the same spot in the evening.
I did find the mattress a bit firm - but this is obviously a very personal thing.

Everything was perfect, from the beautiful room, the terraces, bars, restaurants, to the pool and other facilities. The staff were so helpful, nothing was too much trouble, everything you could need had been thought of in advance. I loved all the hidden away spots where one could sit and admire the view. I had a particularly good dinner at Glicince; as a solo traveller sometimes servers don’t know what to do with you - whether to talk to you, or put you in a corner and leave you alone. Here, the service was pitched perfectly; they judged very quickly what level of engagement might be welcome and got it exactly right. Needless to say the food was excellent.

I reserved an Executive Double Room with partial sea view and was upgraded to a Deluxe Room with full sea view. Everything was beautiful inside the room and outside; the path to the room was lined with fragrant flowers, lots of grass, and well-trimmed plants; it looked like a paradise. The staff was kind and accommodating. The breakfasts were speechless...those quiche bites were so good that I am going to try to duplicate the recipe at home; eggs, hot and cold meats, cheeses, pastries, desserts, all types of beverages, cereals, the fruit - oh, the fruit! The reception area has tiled flower pictures!

Stunning view , pictures on their website does not do justice to how beautiful the hotel is and how perfect the view from the rooms are . The restaurants were excellent and food was simply delicious . Breakfast was incredible and I am vegetarian and gluten intolerant and they had tons of options for me and my husband who has no food restrictions. We dined at both their restaurants and they were both incredible but of course our 8 course dinner at Glycine their Michelin star restaurant was my fav. The staff were incredibly helpful and just so nice and went out of their way to accommodate our every need and requests. they arranged for our trip to Capri - ferry , cab to Napoli and Mt Vesuvius . The wait staff at the restaurant have to be mentioned for their extremely diligent service and customer care.
Shuttle service to the city center - we were told the shuttle service ran every 15 mnts or so but we had to walk back every time we went down to the city center which is an uphill 15 mnt walk . Not a problem for us but might be for those who can’t make the uphill walk . everytime we called and requested for the shuttle to pick us up , we were told to wait at a certain point and nobody picked us even after 45 mnts . when called the hotel about it , their excuse was that there was a lot of traffic that the shuttle was stuck in , we walked back the exact same route the shuttle takes and it was obvious there was no traffic and the shuttle and driver would be at the front of the hotel .

The position was wonderful and the pool area very comfortable. Our bedroom was lovely and the views from the balcony amazing. Generally the staff were helpful.
Service was a bit up and down. Some members of staff were excellent while others were less helpful or needed more training. The prices of food and drink were very high and the practice of giving the woman in a couple an un-priced menu is very old fashioned and unwelcome. We ate poolside at lunch time which was very good but our one evening meal in the Ristorante Mare was less good with the ambiance a bit underwhelming and very pricey so we ate outside the hotel in Amalfi town.

Stunning location on the waters edge of the Amalfi coast….you can’t get any closer to the water. Beautiful property and faculties. Live music each night in the restaurant accompanied by devine food. Staff very welcoming but not over the top in your face.
Enjoy a bit more peace here than being in the tourist chaos of Positano.
Some rooms feel a little dated, but overall it’s a wonderful property.

Amazing choice at breakfast especially the pastries. Our room had some ants as it was in the garden so we were instantly upgraded to a stunning suite. The extra details from the restaurant recommendations, early check in, the Dyson hairdryer and the make up towel in the room, to being offered iced water throughout the day all added to an incredible stay. We loved the Prosecco and treats from the chef on arrival to celebrate our honeymoon too. This is an expensive hotel but it was a real treat and we would love to come back in future!

A stunning hotel, located a few hundred meters from the busy center of Amalfi, the view from the hotel is like the most beautiful painting, we got a very beautiful room, full of stylish lamps and accessories, with an amazing view. The hotel has its own beach, which is not common on the Amalfi Coast, you can spend a day right by the sea. The hotel has two restaurants, including one right next to the beach, the Amalfi and sea view from the restaurant is amazing. Excellent breakfasts, service, everything. There is also a small souvenir shop and very beautiful handmade jewelry. Amazing place!

A truly beautiful hotel with lots of character and attention to detail, in facilities and staff. They upgraded our room to a junior suite with balcony, and gave us a half bottle of prosecco and treats (just because they could!). The food was all stellar as well, but the staff was exceptional. Truly a bucket list hotel!! Former monastery with lemon groves.
I only disliked having to leave! I wish I could have stayed for a week or two, at least.

The location is great, with beautiful sea views and views of Amalfi town. Breakfast was excellent, there was an extensive choice of fresh fruit, pastries, cold meats and cheeses, a hot buffet and also the option to order from a menu for something specific such as eggs benedict.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, from concierge to breakfast waiters and housekeepers, shuttle drivers etc.

Literally our stay could not have been any better. Like another reviewer said, come and stay at the Hotel Santa Caterina if you want to feel special. The hotel retains an aesthetic of old school class and hospitality that you don't find elsewhere; the staff are absolutely incredible and genuinely care about being as hospitable as possible - they're kind, thoughtful, pay attention to every detail (most you likely will never even perceive).
The hotel is visually beautiful, the views are immaculate, the entire property smells like beautiful wisteria (in the spring), you have breakfast with the most breathtaking views you could possible imagine (no breakfast will be the same).
Overall, this is perfection in hotel form.

Service is impeccable. Location cannot be beat. Views for days. Several excellent dining options, including a Michelin star restaurant. And an amazing breakfast buffet to start your day. You pay for all this excellence, but it is the best place to stay in Amalfi.
Remember this hotel first opened 120 years ago. It is not modern, or grand in any physical way. More like an elegant grandparent, the one that you envied for their style.

Service was some of the best I have ever experienced.
It is pretty expensive, and it felt a little uncomfortable when I was asked to tip the reservation and front desk staff when I am already paying over 3,000 Euro/night.
