This place is an absolute gem! Fokko the owner made us feel very welcome. The room was perfect and exactly what we expected. So much charm... and the bed was so comfortable! The balcony over looking the canal was a total game changer and we enjoyed sitting outside and watching the canal traffic. Very beautiful. We loved it! The location is very central and everything is walkable. Lots of restaurants and bars within just a few minute walk.

Our only comment would be the stairs were a bit daunting, but it really just added to the Dutch charm of the place! Zero complaints!

Review of AMSTEL Corner Hotel Amsterdam. October 2023 FIVE STARS! HIGHLY RECOMMEND This was a romantic 2 night stay in the HONEYMOON SUITE. The location is PERFECT, as it is in the outskirts of the city center. It is a short walk to many Amsterdam attractions. The street is EXTREMELY QUIET, unlike most streets in the city. The room has beautiful decorations, the most COMFORTABLE BED & PILLOWS, and a large motorized tv that raises out of the end of the bed for perfect viewing. The cute terrace is overlooking a peaceful canal and perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine. My lady LOVED the deep antique style bath tub with plenty of hot water. The curtains block out 100 percent of the light should you want to relax at any time. The gorgeous wood furniture contains a Nespresso machine, refrigerator & all of the other little necessities that make for a great stay. Best of all, was the awesome owner/host. He was available at anytime to assist with any questions via WHATS app and he even bought me a special bottle to celebrate the night with my lady. We have been traveling all over Europe for the past month, staying at many luxury hotels. This was our last stop, and BY FAR THE BEST ROOM & MOST MEMORABLE experience. Amster Corner was one of the most delightful hotels we stayed at, making our 6-day stay an unforgettable vacation. The historical texture of the room, with a colossal wardrobe that seemed to have been there for years, transported us to the past. We stayed at the honeymoon suite for 3 nights. 15 min by foot and you are at the center of Amsterdam. Otherwise with the tram (less than 5 min). Super market 200m from the apartment. The apartment was amazing! The view to the canal breathtaking!! The bathroom was cozy and elegant! This apartment has a unique character!! I definitely recommend it!!! Fokko was a fantastic host. I asked if he could help with something on arrival for my fiancé’s 30th. We arrived and he had given her a cake and birthday card, he done this free of charge. He also allowed us a late check out, which was so kind. The location is great. Honeymoon sweet was lovely and the balcony was nice. Our group had the main floor room which they enjoyed also. We all had a great sleep bed was very comfortable and the bath is very spacious. Would recommend this property.

There was nothing that we didn’t like within the two rooms that we had. I only have some advice that If you put in a nice marble rail on the main floor room on the stairs this would encourage people with disabilities to feel safer up and down the stairs.

The property was very nice and a perfect stay for our time in Amsterdam. Location is fantastic on the river and very cute room with nice facilities. Wonderful, kind, and helpful host who helped us get luggage up the narrow stairs and allowed us to store it, and even brought up a vase for some flowers on our arrival. Great stay at this property and would recommend to anyone.

More of an AirBnB rather than hotel. Very steep stairs and it was very unpleasant carrying luggage up and down (no lift). The place next door was doing refurb work so a lot of noise in the morning and the tradies could look straight into our room.

This room is in an open, comfortable, and has a great view of the canals. The bed and bathrooms are larger than we see in other European hotel rooms. Most especially the host, Focco, is a true gem. His passion for the house and for Amsterdam are unmatched.

It's not what we didn't like, but what renters should be aware of. This unit is on the fourth floor and the stairs are quite steep and tight. The location is amazing, but it's also tucked away so easy to pass it by.

The host was great and very helpful. The house built in the late 1800's has an interesting history and he has written a book about it. The room was comfortable and we liked using the kitchenette for breakfast before going out for the day. The location is a 15 minute tram ride from Dam Square.

You need to be aware that their is no lift and steep stairs to the room. They were helpful with taking our luggage.

Everything, me and my partner came here for our honeymoon and wow the building and room we were in was absolutely beautiful, we were given a bottle of bubbly to celebrate also. The communication was amazing and the towels were changed everyday it was fantastic! The location was fantastic and easy to get to places. We were also able to check in early and check out late (please do ask as we did). I honestly cannot recommend this enough and if we ever go back to Amsterdam we will defo be staying here again?

Friendly and relaxed, quiet , easy to find. Loved the style of the hotel mixing old Amsterdam with new. The owner of the house gave us a book explaining the history of the house and who had lived there , very interesting. I would definitely go back.

I thought maybe a couple of complimentary water bottles might be an idea. The small bottles of shampoo/body lotion had already been used. New would be good.

It was out of town enough to avoid the crowds but close enough to walk into the main part. the owner was brilliant, we flew out on the day Heathrow closed so our original flight was cancelled and we managed to rebook one from a different airport and he was so accommodating and understanding. We turned up late at night in the end but he was there to meet us and never made us feel it was inconvenient. correspondence with Fokko was brilliant and he was there if we needed him! We stayed in the Play Room, spotlessly clean every day we were there which was lovely!

The only negative I could find was the stairs as we were at the very top and although this was fine for us, some people may struggle. wouldn’t recommend for the elderly etc.

This was a delightful stay. Outside of the city center but easily accessible by city tram. We actually walked most days just to see the sights and canals of this gorgeous city. The bed was very comfortable and the owner was friendly!

Very steep stairs inside and going to the third floor maybe difficult if you are not aware along with luggage.

Charming canal side hotel with self catering rooms. Located in an interesting neighbourhood with convenient access to public transportation. My room had a balcony overlooking a green garden space.

The stairs are steep and shallow. There was very little storage space in my room.

The room was huge and a wonderful little balcony overlooking the canal. The only issue was you need to have strong legs if you have to stay on an upper floor. We had, and I counted them,lol,...38 stairs each way.

Fokko was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was quiet with a very nice view over the canal. We used the tram to get around during our stay and this was very close to the hotel.

The Amstel was in a great part of town- close to everything but just far enough away from the busier parts like the red light district. There was a great view of the canal, and it was just a few blocks away from a huge street market. Close to the train station and other transport. My husband accidentally left his passport in the room when we checked out. The proprietor save our trip my mailing the passport to our next destination! We were so grateful and he saved us from having to go to the embassy.

The staircase was very narrow and steep. It was difficult to navigate even for people in good physical shape.
