The location was perfect for us, it's a bit of a walk to the central area but there's a tram stop within 5 minutes of the hotel. We'd definitely stay here again.

Great value for money. Compact but has everything you need. The location is slightly out of the main part but we liked this as was quieter and nice to be away from the busy streets. Walkable distance. The host was very helpful, stored our bags and delivered them to the room in the first day as we were out exploring all day. Would recommend and stay again.
The stairs are steep but it's Amsterdam so to be expected. The bed was extremely comfortable and black out blinds were a good touch.
We did have a noisy neighbour who decided to have a full blown conversation right outside the door, the walls are thin and rooms are very close as small hallway. But the noise of others can't be blamed on the owner.

This exceeded our expectations!! Friendly staff, safe neighborhood for those traveling internationally that aren’t familiar, great coffee, and more. We had a great view of the canal for such a good price. The showers were like spa showers. I took the best shower of our trip here. They also let us keep our bags there after we checked out while we walked around until our 7pm train. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! You get even more than you pay for here.

Hotel was the perfect distance from city center, not in the middle so noise was no issue, however only a 15-20 minute walk so was perfect. Natalie was so welcoming and kind, the room was lovely and clean and had everything we needed.
Will definitely be rebooking when we come back to Amsterdam!
The only slight thing I think one could moan about is the noise from other guests, , didn't bother me or my husband but if you are a super light sleeper you may notice more.

I messaged the property before arriving to check that we would safely leave our bags prior to check in, and after check out, which they could do. I mentioned it was my boyfriend’s birthday and the staff organised balloons to be in the room when we arrived which was very special!
The hotel was fully booked but we didn’t hear a peep from any other guests and the only noises we heard were birds in the morning and which was lovely.
Not a dislike but a comment that the stairs are very steep, we were staying on the top floor and don’t have any issues with mobility so were absolutely fine but for anyone who may have trouble with stairs just bear this in mind. When we checked in the staff took our bags to our room which was very helpful and when we checked out they offered to carry them back down.

Some of the rooms had a splendid view through large windows over a tranquil tree-lined canal. The location was superb for access to museums, shopping, public transportation. Owner Natalie was very friendly and accommodating.
No AC. No elevator. No washcloths. No body lotion, Q-tips, cotton balls. No USB ports in room. No closet – – just hooks and a few hangers. No breakfast included. ($20 paid breakfast—No meat included—just pancakes and eggs and cereal). No phone intercom to connect to the front desk. Despite friendly owner, that’s a lot of “No’s” for what amounted to 500 bucks for two nights. So, not a good value if room comfort is important, as the room itself was exceedingly small, and the toilet was actually inside the shower.

The personal attention we received went above and beyond what you would see at a chain hotel. The owner and help new we were old and the staircase to the rooms can be challenging and our room was smaller than I expected, but they made every effort to make our stay easier. The luggage was brought up & down. They move us to a bigger room when possible and to a lower floor when possible. Is it the best hotel no, but sometimes when people care about you things can offset the room size or price. If you want a fancy hotel this is not that, but they care about you as people and for me that also counts a great deal.
I didn’t like the stairs or room sizes.

Extra small room, missing basics like a fridge or plates. Broken kettle. The sink is broken and water in the sink doesn’t drain so you can't really wash your hands. The toilet is located in the shower literally just underneath the shower (no kidding), so after the shower you can't use a toilet without making your feet/socks totally wet because of the standing water on the floor. The reception is not available 24/7, so in the evening you're on your own.

We loved this hotel! The hotelier, Nathalie, is such a joy! She has taken this property and made it into a jem. If you get a chance to ask her about her life and story, you won't regret it. Her breakfast (cooked in part by her mom) was huge and delicious. She recognizes that the stairs are difficult to negotiate for some, so she or her staff offer to move the luggage up and down the stairs for her customers. Perfect location, close to canals, bus/tram lines.
Loved everything. Stairs would be hard for those with gait difficulties, so be aware, even though they take your luggage up and down.

The photos do not match the photoshopped rooms. We were given the basement rooms which had limited sunlight. The light was red/orange so it felt like a brothel. A real brothel is probably nicer. The windows were extremely thin, you can hear people walking by at night which = a bad night of sleep. The beds are thin so imagine springs violating your body at night and finally falling asleep to waking up to your ankle sore. Bathroom doors do not close all the way and they’re transparent so expect to poop with all of your guests together. Bonding time I guess. Shower door doesn’t close properly so afterwards you can expect a free slip n slide! The tv remote was missing so we couldn’t watch any TV. The safe was also locked so we couldn’t use it. Overall -100/10points. Bye. I’d rather sleep in the red light district. Bye again.

The location was amazing. Right next to two different tram stops. Walking distance of bars, museums, and right on a beautiful canal.
Service was great. Would highly recommend.
Not an issue, but if you get a room with the two single beds put together, it took a little getting used to.

The staff were so nice and made it feel more like a home than a hotel. They went out of their way to give us delicious vegan breakfast options every day, including vegan omelets and pancakes. The room has such a beautiful view overlooking the canal and the location is so convenient near a tram stop.
It was the smallest hotel room we’ve ever been in and was a little claustrophobic. There wasn’t much space to open your suitcase without it being in the way. There wasn’t much shower and toilet are in the same space so you need to use a squeegee to dry the floor so that you can use the toilet shortly after. You also need to put everything up on the rack above the toilet so that things don’t get wet. Your knees almost touch the wall when sitting on the toilet and you can’t bend forward at all.

Basement room was nice and cool as hot weather during our visit. Large bathroom. Comfortable beds, accommodated us and our teenage daughter. Friendly owner who was very helpful with local attractions, transportation options, will accommodate vegan meal for breakfast. Great location easy to walk the city from. Laundry service 5 mins away which you can pay for service to have washed and folded for you. Would recommend.

Especially hospitality of Nathalie and her sweet mom was exceptional. Also location was quite good if you love walking a little bit. It was like 20 min to Amsterdam Central Station by walk and it gives you chance to explore beautiful canals of city.

No Elevators and no AC, but that’s very common in Amsterdam. As an American, it is hard to comprehend a room without AC, but there was a fan that kept us ventilated.
