Loved that the kids ate breakfast for free and because they were fully booked the staff couldn’t keep up with the food availability and the fresh orange juice was not working correctly or ran out of oranges quite quickly.
That the orange juicer wasn’t working correctly or there wasn’t enough food available

Friendly staff, handy location near hospital, nice walk up to Remuera shops or short drive to Ellerslie. Clean and comfortable.
Bathroom was old and had suffered damage that hadn’t been particularly well repaired. The room was fine but unremarkable. Would be great if there was a pool!

Location is excellent, being just off the motorway giving good access to CBD and surrounding inner city suburbs. Surprisingly quiet, with wonderfully comfortable beds and very clean rooms.
The buffet breakfast, while providing all the usual, flies hovering over and in the bowls of canned fruit and cold cuts/greens was disconcerting. Bread for toast ran out one morning. The rims of the various glass milk receptacles were crusted and looked quite unhygienic. The dinner buffet was okay but somewhat overpriced, as was breakfast.
Sadly, convenience trumped in the dining department for us, but Ellerslie and Remuera both have dining/cafe options that are better and cheaper. While there was a “mini bar” menu in room - there were no items.

Great location and easy to get to. Bed was comfy and room was clean.
We had a booking that included breakfast. The breakfast buffet was abysmal. We went down at approx. 9.15am, breakfast was on until 11am. No one came out to fill up the dishes, there was hardly any bread even, no pastries, no gluten free sweets as listed on menu. The gluten free cereals had been picked over with a lot of crumbs only left. They only filled dishes and coffee machine when asked, then there were queues for the coffee. Hash browns, pancakes, sausages, bread, all ran out, with still an hour to go. Fresh fruit was the same.
Such a shame as this place used to be awesome. There was loud music coming from kitchen, it seemed like the chefs were out the back having a party!

Room was nice and comfy but no extractor fan in bathroom.
The restaurant let the whole place down. We had the buffet, the salads were the only dishes that looked appealing, fruit flies were buzzing around all the desserts and they looked like they had been sitting there unfridgerated for several days. I tried the roast pork and a potato dish, both were Luke warm. The worst part is afterwards I looked up reviews and these issues have been going on for months so obviously these reviews aren't taken seriously.

Breakfast - plenty of choice, staff kept the buffet fully stocked.
Dinner - staff very attentive and approachable. Buffet for1 meal - very good. A la carte 1 night - beautiful meal well presented.
Room - very quiet and clean. Did not get disturbed from other guest entering & leaving their rooms .
Parking - no problem with parking, staff were very helpful.
The little plastic potties of milk, nicer to have fresh milk, I brought my own.
No where on the website does it say you need to pay for parking, I specifically looked it only states parking available on site.

Very nice meals. All but one staff member smiling, welcoming friendly
The parking is difficult and not enough to satisfy guests. This is my second visit and thinking on it they need to improve here. I was in the Novotel which shares all facilities with a downgraded sister hotel. Works ok except the car park where it is $25 and a free for all to park. I would suggest that only Novotel use the outside park and the hotel purchase a group of car parks just opposite the entrance to the other. Owned by the Ellerslie Racing club and all week I was there were nearly empty.

It served its purpose
The kitchen was part of the bathroom. Washing cups etc in the sink where you go toilet.
Also the parking situation. For a huge hotel having to pay for parks on top of was a huge let down. Probably won’t stay again for that reason alone

Proximity to conference venue. That's it.
Parking onsite at Hotel was ridiculous. Tightest carprk I've ever used and to be charged for the use of Carparks which were too few versus in-house guests/occupancy, and also so tight you couldn't get out of your Car door? Stupid. Yes, Ascot parking was available up and round the corner - but as far as convenience was concerned. Not very user-friendly Novotel!

Location is good, only 3 mins walk to the hospital. Room is spacious and clean.
Parking is free but parking lot is limited. We were told the hotel is full today so parking is full as well, end up parked in the Ascot parking and paid $22 (or $24).
Also we found there is a QR code in the room for ordering in room food, we scanned it but it seems out of service as it was midnight, so we just closed the web. However we were charged $40 at check out for “dinner”. Had to return to hotel and talked to the reception to get the money back :(

Comfortable space close to the Akld showgrounds event we were attending.
The receptionist told me kids under 15 ate free at the buffet with each paying adult. This was not the case and is an expensive mistake to make.
There was no parking at all as all very busy. We had to go to a nearby paid parking spot.
We had 4 people but they only provided cups etc for 2 people.
The noise of something (maybe aircon) was awful - it sounded like a car permanently revving and vibrated through the room. For that reason alone I will not return here.
