I saw some black dirt in the window sides, this part was unnoticeable since it was always covered with curtain. But overall we are happy on our stay. The kids were very comfy on their beds.

I didn't end up staying at the location that I booked.

On the day of my booking, I received a text that they would like to offer my room to a person with a wheelchair. I have no problem with that at all. But the alternative accommodation that they booked me at was not to my satisfaction. The room was close to the noisy road, the walls of the room were dirty and in need of paint. The window in the second room was broken and left me scared for the night that someone could climb in through the window. There is also no plug in the bathroom to use my hair straightener. Overall, not impressed at all.

I hate to say it, but the only thing I liked was the location. It was incredibly convenient to where I needed to be while in Christchurch.

For starters, the room we got was definitely nothing like the pictures shown when booking the room we thought we were getting. It was so dark and dated. The bathroom window was right next to the back door which had a lot of foot traffic to and from the carpark with no way of covering the window, showering at night time with the light on meant privacy was next to none. Although you couldnt see clearly, you could make out the figure of someone easily leaving you extremely vulnerable. The doors were hard shutting which made a lot of noise. The walls are paper thin. I was consistenly woken by the noise of what sounded like rats in the walls. The wall colour and furnishings were dark and the lighting was absolutely terrible. We had to use torches to be able to see things properly even while having all of the lights on. The shower was the worst shower I have ever encountered in my life. It had absolutely minimal pressure and water flow. The cleanliness of the room was generally fine although I wasnt happy to see pink/orange mould in the bottom of the shower joins where wall meets floor. The bottom of the shower was also incredibly slippery. The TV often wouldnt turn on or respond to the remote. The hair dryer supplied was something no better than what you'd buy off Temu so I opted to use my own which is fine however, there was no power plugs in the bathroom so I would need to stand in the kitchen and blow dry and straighten my hair from the kitchen trying to see in the bathroom mirror. Im not lying when I say I was miserable staying here. The location truly was the only good thing about our stay.

Accommodation was great for the price, a little out of the centre of Christchurch but not too far, 15 min stroll. Room was clean and comfortable There was a handy 'dark kitchen' literally across the road which did great take away food.

The location is on a busy road, which wasn't a major problem except the window could not close fully so the sound of traffic could be heard all night.

Room was spacious and provided exactly what I needed for a stay like this exceeded my expectations in a lot of regards. Good value for money.

Check in process was difficult. When I arrived there was a significant amount of torrential rain and downpours. By the time I got to the premises the reception was closed, the only means of communication that was provided was a New Zealand number with which I cannot call as I do not have the required SIM card. An email address or WhatsApp option would have been better. As a result I was left outside soaking wet for a considerable amount of time.

There was not much to like about 136 on Bealey. Location was good being close to the city and parks, The room was quite large for a motel room. We ended up changing motels for our last night after 4 days of sleep deprivation from the constant beeping sound from the pedestrian crossing outside the room. I think this is the booking.com room. It seems motels are now punishing people who book online, We got told this was an upgrade room.. It wasnt

1. Don't Book Room 11 - The traffic light at the nearby crossing has a beeping signal that is very audible in the room 2. Road Noise is terrible 3. Rock Hard Bed 4. No Fan in bathroom or ventilation meant dampness (you could open the window, but it was broken and would not latch open) 5. The Buiding smelt like a chinese kitchen worse in reception 6. Very tired old motel in desperate need of a makeover

Access was easy, both to the motel (right on a key road in the city) and from the car park to the room. Appreciated that it was a ground floor room.

The interior of the room was dated and aged. We had to get help to access the TV, but the only water supply was from the bathroom. No washing up facility.
