Spacious clean rooms, friendly helpful staff. Easy to get to from the airport, and easy to explore Porto from. The bed was very comfortable, I was able to easily extend my stay. Late night check-in was also possible, I arrived at 1:00 am. There is a food hall behind the hotel and a supermarket, and a shopping centre. There is a cafe right outside the hotel. I like walking so I didn't find the location a problem at all, 30 minutes to the old town or the beach. It is uphill on the way back. There seemed to be a bus station behind the hotel.

We stayed for a few nights and found the location is ok, but not the best for what we wanted to do. The reception is very friendly.
In the property description it says parking included, which I think is not true as on arrival we were told that their parking are all occupied. Looking at the surroundings this does not seem to be correct, but there is an underground parking available but it comes at a price which is not mentioned in the description when looking for the booking.
There is also a lot of maintenance ongoing while we were staying there, which starts with drilling holes in the walls from 8am.

Hotel located in a decent district with a beautiful cafeteria few meters away. Center of porto is 30 min walk and Casa da musica is only 5 minutes walk. There is an undeground parking infront of hotel and some parking place on the street. Reception 24/7. The room is decent. Shampoo and soap provided.
The FREE parking space from hotel is very limited. Vacant street alternatives are extremely rare. District has alot of homeless people on the street.
Wi-fi barely works.
Air cond is loud.
Room was clean, but some small trash and hair from previous visitor remained.
For that money could be room with bathtub or breakfast.

Breakfast though was very basic and repetitive , which was frustrating and while the lovely lady running the buffet kept replenishing, food was very quickly exhausted when extra guests arrived for breakfast.
Considering Vice-Rei was on a main road, the area was generally quite.
Good restaurant opposite, but expensive. (XXL),. However the food hall around the corner, behind the hotel was excellent with amazing choice and value.
10 minutes to the Metro into the centre and easy access to the nailing stations for traveling further afield.

AC was a bit annoying to configure and troubleshoot. It is a bit of a walk towards town if you don't want to catch a cab or tour bus from the nearby Casa de Musica. May improve after construction work for the Metro is finished.

I stayed at this hotel last year around the same time of year,September 2024. I liked it at the Vice-Rei so much so that I returned here this year. It's a little bit out of the city's center. However, it's close to the splendid costal area with a lovely walkable promenade, crashing waves, and a fort!
There isn't anything I can think of that was to dislike at all about the hotel or location, and may I add their buses that all go directly to the center of Porto!

Old furnitures. No vegetables in the breakfast buffet. It's an old building, so when it's cold outside β it's also cold in your room. And the air conditioner (as the only source of heat) barely helps.
