The location is simply the best. You can easily walk to pretty much anywhere from there, either for sightseeing, drinks, or just to grab something to eat. The bar of the hotel is nice too, the staff is kind and the meal options delicious. The room has decent space, although the shower was a little small for me based on my room selection, good nonetheless. I used the wet/dry sauna a lot, great options to relax after a long day. Just bear in mind it can get crowded at times. There is an elephant plushie on every bed you can buy if you wish (the history behind it is interesting). And if it's raining, there is an umbrella you can use during your stay. All in all, the amenities, the location, and the staff made it a great experience.

It is not necessarily a bad thing, but as some have mentioned, the hotel is going through renovations (probably for a while). The hotel has some history and time, and despite the sporadic noise, it is nice to see they are putting extra effort in modernizing their facilities.

All the staff were really friendly and helpful and offered some great suggestion for places to eat. The room was great and the bed was super comfy. The breakfast was amazing and they had everything you could think of and additional items made to order. The location was brilliant as only a few minutes walk from the river and three bridges.

liked the size of the room, location, the soap by loccitane was amazing !!

the noise. there were loud parties on the second floor every night and it really bothered me from falling asleep. in general the facility is a little worn out such as the carpeting on the stairs.

Convenient! The room was spacious and the entry was large enough we could stage most of our suitcases in this area. The pillows were amazing! The most comfortable I’ve ever experienced in a hotels d I’m picky.

The property was a bit dated. The carpet was well worn especially in stair wells. The tub shower combination is a bit hazardous to navigate. The step out of the tub is far, and we are agile and fit.

figuring out parking was a little bit confusing - we had to park a few blocks away and then come to the hotel to ask how to park because the hotel itself is on a pedestrian-only street. however, the staff was super friendly and helpful; turns out you can drive along the pedestrian-only street only to bring the car to the valet staff and they park it for you.

Driving into the pedestrian zone was confusing β€” it wasn’t clear where or how to go. A map is needed to understand the route. The instructions from the hotel were not sufficient. The room felt like something from the Soviet era β€” the floors creaked everywhere, the corridors were dark. There was construction going on in the courtyard ?. The mattress was old and sagging. The air conditioner didn’t cool properly because it was an outdated system and impossible to control. The furniture was old and worn out. There was rust in the bathroom. Breakfast was quite mediocre.

Location great, just a few minute walk to the old town part of the city. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast was delicious. I asked for an upgrade as I had thought I had booked a bigger room (I was wrong) and I got the upgrade anyway so I am very grateful to the manager for that as it really made my stay even more enjoyable. Staff are so friendly and attentive. The rooms are quite old but there are renovations going on at the moment so that will change at some point. Very noisy construction work during the day but that cannot be a fault as it's part of the renovations, and the day is for being out of the hotel and in the city!

Lobby and lobby bar were great! Felt very luxe. Parking was so easy, valet was for a charge but it was so convienient. Location could not have been better. So close to everything, we loved walking along the river in town - countless bars, caes, restaurants, and so much shopping.

When we went up to our floor and walked down the hall it felt nice, then we got to a part at the end where it feels like you're walking through a construction zone into another wing of the hotel that feels unfinished. Our room itself was smaller but definitely an okay size for a hotel room. I filled a glass with water from the tapand found bits in the glass. I rinsed the cup and flushed the water in the pipe for a while but every time it still deposited floating bits into the glass. The shower did not drain appropriately, so it filled up quickly while bathing. Overall the room did not match the luxury feeling we had when we walked in the lobby.

The staff are exceptional! While the room, comfort, cleanliness - all get full points, the staff get the platinum star. Here is why: Unfortunately, I got pickpocketed at the Zara right opposite the hotel. I lost my passport, my wallet, IDs, etc. I went to the front desk to get a copy of the police report and from that point on, the entire staff was nothing but exceptional. From changing my room with a landline (the Embassy would only call on the Landline), to Misha who walked with me three times to the Western Union to collect money my family has wired, to their Boss helping me talk in the local language with folks at the Embassy....I could go on and on. And here is the other touching and unbelievable: Misha gave me 50 euros from his wallet to help tide me over while we were trying to figure out the Western Union process (without a physical ID one cannot get the case wired, and the only ID I had was on the phone, which of course, was not acceptable). I was only a guest at the hotel and yet he did this kind deed! I will never forget his kindness.

Nothing to do with the hotel - but getting pickpocketed in one of the safest country in Europe was not a great experience.

It has fab location at the heart of Ljubljana and it’s breakfast is second to none.

The reception area makes you feel you are waiting for room at Buckingham Palace. There are 6 personnel at the reception area and when two are on line and by any chance if you step forward without being called you get a β€˜look’.

Excellent staff and everyone was very friendly and always greeting you. The location was excellent, and it was always 5-10 minutes to everything we wanted to walk to. Breakfast spread was great and tasty. Gym small but well equipped.

This whole hotel needs a major overhaul - it seems that there has been no money invested to renovate since 1980s. For the price, the hotel itself didn’t live up to its standard, while on services and amenities they did make up.

Hotel is very old so the hallway carpeting & walls look so dated. The fitness center is small (no place to stretch). The room for 1 person which costs $150 euro is very small (almost half the size of a normal room). No view except of the foundation pit of the neighboring property & construction vehicles noises.

Great location near the old area of Ljubljana. Close to many restaurants. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Overall it's a good choice for a tourist. Location is perfect.

Hallway carpeting was ancient and needs replacement. Bathtubs were terribly high on the side, therefore being a danger for someone trying to get in or out. No bar to hang on to. Shower door had no seal so the floor got very wet and slippery. Also more bath towel bars are needed.

The breakfast was excellent. The valet was extraordinarily helpful. The navigation instructions didn't work for us on driving to the hotel through the pedestrian zone. We temporarily parked nearby and walked to the hotel. The valet offered to go back to our car and lead us to the hotel on his electric scooter. His help was over and beyond.

The room was tiny and rather dismal. It didn't match what we were expecting from the photos. We minimized the amount of time we spent in the room.

AC (AIR CONDITIONER) - is only NAME SAKE. WE DID NOT SLEEP FOR ALL 3 NIGHTS THAT WE BOOKED AT THIS HOTEL What is the use - if you are booking a Hotel - and not able to even have the BARE MINIMUM OF A PEACEFUL NIGHTS REST. The Hotel should mention that ALTHOUGH THEY HAVE AC (AIR CONDITIONER) THEY DO NOT TURN IT ON - saying that everybody is feeling cold (when the actual reason could be - TO SAVE ELECTRICITY). The hotel should remember - that WE ARE PAYING THEM FOR OUR STAY - EVERYBODY (that they mentioned) is not paying for our stay. We chose this Hotel ONLY because of the AC - and they DID NOT TURN IT ON. We paid for this service and we could not make use of it. Very Disheartening !! On asking the Hotel Staff - they say - all are complaining that they are feeling cold - so they have switched on Heaters. NOBODY NEEDS HEATERS at 15 to 18 Degrees Centigrade in the day and 5 Degrees at night. 99% of the people on the Roads were WITHOUT WOOLEN CAPS. No Rain also. The hotel has mentioned - DO NOT OPEN THE WINDOWS because bugs, bees, mosquitoes and flies come in. How are we to survive with the Windows Closed ?? and NO AC - WHERE IS THE VENTILATION ? HOW ARE WE TO BREATHE ?? IT WAS SO SUFFOCATING. They DO NOT EVEN HAVE A MOSQUITO CURTAIN TO KEEP BUGS AWAY. At night we turned off the lights AND WALKED ABOUT IN THE DARK and kept the windows open - for ventilation and to avoid bugs - but because there was a BAR DOWNSTAIRS right below the building with Chairs in the open and we could hear all Drunkards - shouting, screaming, singing, joking, laughing, howling, clapping, whistling and making loud sounds upto 5:15 AM in the morning. If the AC was working - we would not be faced with the above problem. WE DID NOT SLEEP FOR ALL 3 NIGHTS THAT WE BOOKED AT THIS HOTEL - AND the 4th night we were travelling. I was already DOWN WITH FLU AND So you can imagine my state when i reached back to my home country. Paying to live like Beggars - Very Sad situation.

NAME SAKE Cleaning facility.

The location was great (very close to the river walk, only a few blocks) and the included breakfast was truly amazing. The valet service for our car parking also was very helpful and staff had our car waiting for pick-up at the designated time. Our 5th floor room (#538) had a nice view out the window of the castle.

The property is quite outdated in decor and is tired looking. The carpet looked worn and a bit dirty (?) and the room while clean (nice!) had signs of deferred maintenance like window trim with peeling paint.

The hotel is just few steps away from Preseren square, the centre of the city. The breakfast is very good as well as the service. The bed was comfortable.

While a central location allows you to walk in few minutes on all the main sites of interest, during the weekend you might be waked by very laud voices at 03:00 in the night despite the sound proof windows. So, I do not recommend this place unless you travel with ear plugs. Also, due to renovation work, during the day there is often a very annoying noise (which even ear plugs do not manage to block). So, if you plan to spend time in the hotel during the day, I would avoid this place. I took the β€œeconomy single room” and it was pretty small. The room light was pretty dim. Also, the room was clearly dated. Iron facilities were advertised through Booking.com but there were no such amenities in the room.
