Access to the sea was difficult especially at low tide since there is a lot of dead coral and rocks. While the hotel do provide a canoe and paddle board, there weren’t enough for everyone while we were there.

The location of Rocky’s is quiet but just 5 mins by taxi from lamai beach. We had booked a sea view room and upon arrival received an upgrade to a sea front room with Plunge pool. I was over the moon! The bed was the biggest I’ve ever seen - maybe 8’ across? (We have a super king and it was way bigger than that). Truly the best room i have ever stayed in. I cannot fault the hotel accommodation, staff nor service received - all were exemplary. The weather wasn’t great when we arrived and we only had two night there so I wish I could have stayed longer and enjoyed our pool more. The cocktails were spot on and the food delicious. Breakfast had a good selection and they also cooked certain things to order such as eggs Benedict and omelettes.
We walked along the beach and there was a restaurant and then a wonderful temple with stone cobras either side of the staircase leading to it but we were in our beachwear so couldn’t explore it at that point (sila ngu). We used grab for taxis which were cheaper than taking hotel transfers when we went out and also hired a motorbike for a day to explore the area and went to silver beach just up the road and fisherman’s village which is better at night when the market is on.
The only downside for us was the weather!

The beach on the property was very serene and the place had a great view.
The staff was extremely hospitable. Everyone from reception to managers to room attendants to waiters were very polite and professional
I would definitely recommend the place to anyone visiting Koh Samui!
Not a big deal, but the beach is quite shallow - Hence it’s tough to get a good swim in it.

It was incredible! The resort it stunning, amazing views and lots to do, free paddle boarding and kayaking which was great. The room was stunning, cleaned everyday and little chocolates left on the bed. The staff are the best, soo friendly and always want to help. Wonderful resort with a beautiful pool and bar overlooking the bay. The staff were really attentive and we felt treated for the entire stay and the room was lovely, comfortable and spotless. It was our honeymoon so I organised a romantic dinner on the beach which was a wonderful and memorable experience on our own private beach. The breakfast was also exceptional with a great selection both for the cooked and buffet. I wouldn't change anything.
The sea is quite shallow so not suitable for swimming unless you go really far out but this isn't the hotels fault.

We liked the room - it was new, very clean and comfortable. All the employees were very friendly and professional. The breakfast was delicious, we especially liked that they offered also for example lemon soda or ice tea with lime juice - I personally don't drink coffee and like something sweet, fruity and refreshing. After we returned from breakfast, the room was cleaned - we liked it, that they were so fast and it was ready for us, because afterwards we like to chill in the room. :) We booked a romantic dinner on the beach, it was prepared beautifully, however it started to rain and it had to be removed. They were kind, that we could just cancel it and they did not charge us or force us to have it inside. Instead we had just a normal a la carte dinner - it was with the ocean view, beautiful and romantic as well. We really recommend the hotel restaurant - the food was very exclusive, beautifully presented and special! It was soo soo good!
The location of the hotel was ok, but not the best. The beach was beautiful, but we could not really swim - it was rocky and on the bottom of the water were also growing many plants. The hotel tried hard though, you could borrow shoes for swimming - very kind, but because of the plants it was still very weird to swim there. The swimming pools were a little bit small - not too small, but if there were also other people, you could not really swim.

Hotel is situated in an quite area, there are some cafes and restaurants as well as the Grandfather and Grandmother's Rock, all within walking distance. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. There are 2 swimming pools, a gym, a small spa and a little library. Complimentary shuttle bus at 11am and 5pm to Lamai Beach and also one at 11am to Chaweng.
The rooms look new, probably the hotel did some refurbishment, our plunge pool room is very spacious and clean with a huge bed, view from the room is beautiful especially at sunset!
The motor sound of the plunge pool in front of the room starts at about 7am making it impossible to continue sleeping

Property itself is great. Check what you are looking for before booking. If you’re after lounging around a pool, this is great. If you want markets etc. we found Fisherman’s Village to the north of the island to be the best spot (40 min drive from the hotel one way).

Great place to stay, highly recommend it if you want some peace and quiet, whilst still being able to enjoy the city of Lamai at your own pace.
The resort is quite pricy, which we knew upfront and were okay with. However we were surprised about the costs for services you could get at the resort. Food was very extensive and definitely not always that great, relative to the price they are asking. I also don't get why they use the small letters to state that prices are exclusing 10% service fee and 7% VAT. Feels like they are sneakingly trying to add another almost 20% to the rates. However, a lot of places seem to do this, very strange.

Such a lovely hotel! Beautiful rooms, 2 pools with comfortable beds. They bring you several free little snacks and drinks during the day when you spend your day at the hotel. Lovely staff! We were a bit scared because of the reviews about there being a buildingsite next to the hotel. But don’t let it keep you from booking: you will barely notice. They made a fence between the driveway and the buildingsite. When at the hotel or in the rooms you will never notice because it’s too far away from there.
Breakfast also really good! Love it when you have a few a la carte options next to the buffet such as French toast or freshly made eggs.

Overall everything was clean, the pools and the beaches were nice and we were really happy to stay in such a nice resort. 10/10 would come again.

The hotel is very nicely designed and the location right next to the private beach is lovely, the perfect spot to enjoy some drinks or food next to the sea. The service was excellent and the staff were super attentive. The Thai food in the restaurant is very good. Also enjoyed using the Kayak and paddle board although the paddle board is missing the fin so very difficult to navigate.
The villa I had booked is right next to the main road which has four lanes and is super noisy thanks to the constant motorbike traffic, which was not quite the peaceful paradise I was looking for. Also there was construction on the upper pool which meant in the day there were construction noises as well. They did move us for the last two nights to a room next to the sea which we loved, so avoid the villas. I was a bit upset I had booked so early and yet the hotel did not mention the construction. They did compensate us with free drinks but I would have appreciated a heads-up. I would have been happy to pay a bit more to be away from the noise.
The breakfast is a bit hit and miss and something they should improve. The fresh coffee and tea was great but the bread and pastries were all stale. I think better not to have bread and pastries than have stale ones. The made-to-order Rocky's breakfast was also surprisingly bad: the hash brown tasted microwaved and the tomatoes and mushrooms tasteless and plasticky.

We had an amazing stay at Rocky's resort. All the staff are always kind, helpful, accommodating, and amazing at what they do that even when our AC broke down they went above and beyond to help us find a solution.
We are both vegetarians, and they were very flexible and understanding regarding this, we were always served the vegetarian menu for the delicious breakfast and dinner even without us reminding them.
Everybody made us feel safe as a gay couple, I never felt judged or stared at. The room was also perfect, exactly as beautiful as the pictures. And the veranda to the garden was a great place to read the books that are also available in the well-stacked library :) The hotel is located in a pretty calm area, so perfect if you're looking for a relaxing escape.
We will definitely come back for another visit!

Located by the ocean with a private beach. Water is a little shallow, but ok for swimming during high tide. Remember your bathing shoes (or use the ones provided by the hotel free of charge) to protect your feet against some rocks on the seabed.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rocky’s Boutique! Everything about this resort is incredible and the staff are so lovely, friendly and helpful! They always went out of their way to help us, assisting us with booking and organising day trips, as well as providing excellent transportation throughout the island! We always felt welcomed at breakfast and around the resort by all of the beautiful staff!
The facilities at this resort are also so beautiful and clean, and there is nothing that we can fault about this beautiful resort in Lamai!

A letter appearing on our bed after we checked in (where nobody bothered to tell us) saying sorry, the beach (in front of our "beachfront room") is being used for a wedding tomorrow. You're screwed. Thanks for the big bucks you paid though.
When asking reception about this, and how it would affect us, they lied and downplayed it: oh no, it's not in front of your room, it's in front of your neighbor's. And it's just two people, no noise. A blatant lie. When we arrived from a tour that afternoon, a bunch of people stood in front of our room just chatting away, laughing, shouting, while the photographer used our plunge pool area to store all his stuff. Furthermore, a big speaker blared out shitty music ("Hit me one more time" by Britney Spears, for a wedding... seriously?). This was our last day in Thailand, we chose this room specifically to enjoy a quiet afternoon in our private little pool, and were basically chased away from it.
While downplaying the nuisance we'd experience, as a form of apology, they offered a free massage or a free dinner. But at check out, of course they didn't remember. Dinner was charged. They did told us 2 cocktails were complementary though, when we ordered them. Happy hour cocktails to be exact. Instead of half price, we didn't have to pay at all! My goodness, this grand gesture truly left me teary eyed...
Oh, and the plunge pool... it was a big part of the reason why we took the room, but it never worked longer than a few minutes. Each time we'd call reception, they send the maintenance guy, he pokes into the system with a screwdriver until it spits out dark muck and it works again. Until more muck finds its way down the pipes and clogs it again. I think this repeated five or six times. yet at checkout the liar from the previous day had the audacity to show us a video of our plunge pool massage system working, as if we've been making it up.

Our stay at Rocky's was 10/10 perfect! We were thrilled to be upgraded from garden view room to a stunning two-story villa with a private pool (no extra cost), which made our trip feel extra luxurious. The villa was beautifully designed, spacious, and very clean! They even provided us with delicious sweets every day.
The breakfast each morning was fantastic, offering a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to start the day. The a la carte breakfast was also really delicious. They even offered Italian coffee which was perfect. Oh and if you want to rent a scooter - they got you! We booked a nice scooter for 3 days which was 350 baht a day (without needing to provide passports).
The staff truly made the experience exceptional – always friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed.
We can't wait to come back :)

Everything about my stay at Rocky’s was incredible. The rooms are beautiful, with small touches such as candles and turn-down service with local Thai treats that really made me feel welcome. The staff is unmatched. Khun Ying at reception and Khun Koi and Khun Eak who work in the restaurant and at the pool facilities were all so incredible. A huge shout out to them for making our stay so wonderful!
The pillows in the rooms could be updated. They are either thick, hard pillows or thin, lumpy pillows.

Great bed, TV and room facilities, gym looked great, library, spa, everything was of a high standard. View of the sea and nice balcony area. Great bathroom. Two pool areas, a garden pool and a pool overlooking the beach, beach access with all great provided for you, and bar with sunsets. Great restaurant. A stand out from anywhere else we have stayed was the lovely thoughtful and personal touches throughout our stay, the gorgeous team felt like family by the time we left. Absolute hospitality professionals. Rocky's was walking distance to Lamai, and a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Samui, it has everything you needed to chill by the pool. Room service was perfect. The Thai food was insanely good. Fancy! Highly recommended and would love to return.
I'm being super picky here, for most it would be considered great, but- Breakfast buffet could be better. There was available: fresh fruit, cereals, bread, spreads, salad, cheese, cold cuts, and sausages and bacon served for buffet, plus a menu for eggs etc. We ordered from the menu, French toast and poached eggs, both were cold inside, obviously precooked, refrigerated, served not heated through. The execution just needs a tweak in the kitchen. I'd recommend them to serve eggs in a bain marie as part of the buffet, as other hotels.

I loved the welcome drinks & that they helped you to room with luggage / lift on the buggy. Breakfast was nice, it was good that they had the eggs menu separately & some of it was really good food ..& the free teas/ coffees were such a nice touch. The rooms were nice & lovely touches in rooms too, the essential oils/ candles were so lovely to come home to, so please continue this! The view from our room was stunning. The gym was nice & AC good.
Only small detail, was our room was attached to another (which could be opened for a family room), so we could hear our neighbours coughing well into the night (they were obviously unwell) & could hear them banging around which was a bit annoying, my partner mentioned it to reception but he said they didn’t really say much to help.

Dinner was good but we were not able to test out the breakfast as had a very early flight. Would love to go back there.
Added extra glass of wine on our bill but quickly rectified it.

The rooms are well appointed with a great view of the ocean, we got upgraded to a room on the beach with a plunge pool which was amazing although it is worth noting, they are not very private rooms, if you have the blind open people can see right in.
The resort is really well maintained and beautiful more 5* than 4*.
Food was generally pretty good and the staff are friendly.
We used the spa for a massage which was good and the gym is alright.
The location is nice, by the sea however there isnt a lot of places to walk to for lunch/dinner however Grab is easy to get and many places are a 10 min taxi ride away.
My only slight gripe is that it is quite difficult to get a sunbed round the pools and the tide was often high during our stay so the beach wasn't really an option.

We requested the hotel to book a taxi to collect us from the airport and were told the cost was 2500 Baht which they insisted we paid on arrival. We later discovered the taxi fare was a mere 750 Baht (what we paid the taxi on the return journey to the airport). We felt the hotel were out of order to overcharge us by 1750 Baht.

Whilst it is a nice resort with excellent staff there are shortcomings. We found the design of the bedroom was lacking. Although it looked beautiful it had a shelf in the bedroom which was quite dangerous. Also I prefer some cupboard space. In addition the pillows were not terribly comfortable.
The pools are lovely but there weren’t sufficient sunbeds and clients were saving beds.
Breakfast was nice but at times was a bit hectic and some customers were handling bread then putting it back. On one occasion my egg dish I ordered came out completely cold.
Evening meals were nice and cocktails were exceptional.

When we arrived and shown to our room, we found the patio door did not close properly. While their maintenance guy did attempt to fix the issue, we were disappointed that this occurred in the first place. After a complaint, management did provide an updated suite, which was appreciated. Room was great except the shower drain did not work properly and a bad smell emanated from the drain, from the which turned us off - turns out it was clogged.
While breakfast was included, would have been nice to have a different variety as it was the exact same spread daily. Ordered different variations of eggs and did not enjoy.

We were lucky enough to book one of the beach view rooms with plunge pool and it was incredible! We loved the small private beach for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful sunrise and sunsets. The rocky scenery is so unique and beautiful. We read some reviews saying you couldn't swim but we swam every day and it was beautiful. We also took out the kayaks they have for free and really enjoyed exploring the coastline around the area. The food at the restaurant is great and we also liked exploring outside the hotel around the grandfather rocks area which is walkable. Would absolutely stay again!
Food and drinks were a little expensive at the resort. There was also a proposal setup while we were there which meant that we couldn't access our favourite part of the resort for the day. Just keep this in mind as they do also offer weddings here. We totally understand that is a nice feature of the resort but it is a little inconvenient for other guests staying at the time.
