Easy pleasant check in, shown to room 8 which was large with king size bed and 2 single ones, large tv, kettle with lots of choice of drinks, biscuits. Large bathroom with walk in shower and jacuzzi bath. Small bottles of toiletries supplied with large towels that were super soft. Room was lovely and warm. Lots of private parking, Breakfast is in the hotel just across the car park. Small but cosy, buffet style, only thing need to change is they ask how you want your eggs and brought them before we had finished our fruit/cereal, good choice and tasty especially the sausages. Staff pleasant and welcoming. Lovely and clean throughout.
Excellent location for restaurants and bars and about a 15 - 20 mins walk to center. Would stay again and recommend.

The staff were excellent especially the breakfast staff, nothing was too much trouble for them, really friendly. We found the room nice and comfy, however a window in the room would have been better. I enjoyed the little extras and the toiletries supplied.
A window in the room would have been nice, we didn't want to open the sky light in case it rained.

Very well-maintained older home which kept the "flavor"/character of a stately old home with nicely appointed decor, & yet modernized with very up-to-date bathroom. Plenty of coffee/tea/& hot chocolate for the kettle PLUS several sweet biscuits & some crisp packets. Toiletries provided - enough for both of us for more days than we stayed, along with oversized thirsty towels. Bed was VERY comfortable as were the pillows (an assortment of pillows to choose from). ADDITIONALLY, a hot, tasty breakfast was provided (many options including fresh fruits), of which we'd not realized was included in our very reasonable booking fee. Staff was superb - warm & welcoming, informative & helpful, friendly & cheerful. Cleanliness was top-notch. Everything about this lodging rated 10-stars in our opinion.
It was a bit outside of town which was a plus & a minus. It offered a more quiet stay, & there was a smaller village close-by with several good dining options (we recommend The Faulkner). However, the minus is that the walk from the train station to the motel (in the rain) had us arriving wet & chilled. There IS good bus service from town ~ every 10-15 minutes, but we were naive about the buses until after our soggy arrival. That's when the in-room hot teas & coffee were a very welcome sight!

Ray accommodated us when we discovered that Booking.com had given us a default of March when I thought I was booking February. He gave a room similar to the one we booked.
The rooms are beautifully presented and warm, with kettle and fridge provided. Complimentary tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and decent sized cups on offer. Unfortunately the biscuits and hot chocolate were not replenished with servicing.
Breakfast was everything you could want. Croissants, toast, eggs, bacon, tomatoes,Β cheese, sausages, baked beans, mushrooms, cereal,Β juice, yogurt, and fresh fruit.
Overall I would definitely come back and recommend staying here.
We discovered after arriving that my cousin had gotten a room similar to the one we originally booked but for Β£44 cheaper per night by booking directly with the venue, and the correct days. Ray told me not to worry about contacting booking.com to change the dates and I feel we may have been ripped off in the cost of our stay.
Meals
Downsides were staff did not understand request for non dairy option for milk, tea was weak and not hot enough. A request for more milk was ignored or not understood on both days.

Breakfast not served until 8 so not really suitable if youβre travelling for work - it made me late for my conference. Such a shame, I hope theyβll consider changing this - even 7:30 would make a difference. Apart from this I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room was immaculate and decorated to the best of taste. We had chocolates on the pillows and Hot Chocolate as well as your usual tea & coffee. Toiletries each also left on the bed with our huge towels. Room was also cosy & warm too. Breakfast was great it was self serve but you could choose from a fry up to cereals, yogurt, fruit, pastries etcβ¦. Only a 20mins walk into Chester if that. we walked the main route one day and by the canal into Chester the next. Also 5mins from the hotel is a high street with pubs, restaurants, take aways. A delightful room in a private space. The room was kitted out with everything you could want, topped off with a little chocolate on the pillows, a generous amount of coffee and tea all in a peaceful surrounding. The bed was super comfy and everything worked. Wonderful!
The bedroom was a bit warm for my liking but I do like it to be really cool. I adjusted the thermostat on the radiator, but it took a long time to cool down - anyone else would probably have loved the warmth in the room!

Very friendly staff and nice room
It would be much better if breakfast can start at earlier time for people who check out in early morning for the early flight.
