The hotel looks run down and in need of renovation. The staff were lovely but on arrival we were going to be charged a £15 fee for arriving at 9.45! Not sure how they can justify charging you more for being there less time. The room was ok but had the most awful sewage smell and the window had a large crack down it. We did not eat there nor use the facilities so unable to comment.

The room has actually ok, bedding seemed clean and general room cleanish. It had been decorated more recently than the rest of the hotel. Didn't have tea or coffee and the spoon which was with the coffee cup hadn't been washed.
Everything just looked old and tired. You had to notify staff if you wanted to use the sauna and steam room, but no one was around. The pool had lost tiles and it all looked really unloved, we didn't use it if didn't look like floors had been cleaned etc The whole hotel certainly does not look like it did in the pictures!

The outside looked very run down on arrival, did not fill us with confidence, problems with the door code on our room as the battery was flat and kept beeping, floor boards in corridors squeaky. The public area on hotel was very stark and could be so much more, was not advised about any of the facilities on site. Room very clean but again run down huge crack on the window with no net curtains on the window, sheet did not fit the bed. This hotel could be amazing, with some thought and investment, in the right areas. Very smelly in the corridor near our room.

It needs up dating throughout. In the room I was in the kept running due to the overflow, the towel rail and the shower was showing a lot of rust . There were no facilities for breakfast .

Main shower did not work and was dripping. The first bedroom we stayed in, the bedding was not fresh clean and side unit was sticky. TV was hanging from wall. Did not like the fact that its keycode to enter room which allows them access, also outside keycode does not work in rain as we also got soaked due to no cover.

Great place - huge. Owners had made the best of everything and couldn’t have been more helpful. N keys to lose. Easy access to marina and town. Comfy suite, clean and tidy.

There are tacky wooden signs everywhere in the hotel for sale. And it’s more of a work man’s hostel, people in and out, didn’t see the pools, outdoors swimming pool out of action. This is somewhere to lay your head and that’s it.

Pool cold, jacuzi low power. Steam room was off and sauna room had lil above 60 degree. For skandinavian person it was way below normal temperature. When i entered room the windows was open and march is not the warmest seasson. Room was cold all my stay. Everywhere i looked it was about to break apart. Glad im trades person and i could fix some things i should get paid for. Thank me later. I had toilet paper for 2 uses only. No breakfast at all, staff member offered me a pot nodles.

The check-in as staff know your pass code into the hotel as its the same one to use for your room.
The swimming pool was so small you couldn't swim in it! No towels provided had to use the towel from your room! No shower facilities so had to get dress and then shower in your room!! The pictures of the rooms are nothing like the ones when you book! There was no hairdryer in the room despite me booking an on-suite room!

We were a party of 6, staying in 3 small double rooms. Parking was easy. If the hotel carpark had no space, there was always space on the road.
Some of our party made use of the indoor pool and steam room.
The hotel does appear tired and could do with a facelift, though we were not paying much considering it was Easter weekend.
Room 2 could have done with a new carpet as there seemed to be a stale smell coming from one corner. Room 4 or 5 (not sure of our room number) had curtains hanging off the end of the rails.

I always enjoy the friendly greeting and the original Torquay atmosphere. The rooms have a historic quality and views from some rooms across the tree filled spaces looking out to sea.
Maybe just a little more privacy in the bathroom in the form of a better net curtain. Just a small detail.

Old building, the shower stopped working in our second day there, the steam room was smelling bad and there is no physical key for the rooms you have to use an unique code but some people don’t know how to use it and they leave the bedroom doors open during the night, the first night we couldn’t sleep at all because the alarm of those open doors
