Excellent staff, very prompt and responsive. The location was nice and the rooms were good. On small issue was that bathroom did not have glass cover in the entry zone and so shower water used to sprinkle out of the bathroom to floors making it a bit messy.

A single city block from Powell's Book store. There are more than a dozen restaurants, coffee shops and taverns within just 3 blocks walk from hotel in inner city Portland. Hotel had a free Happy Hour (2 free glasses of wine) from 5-6 PM, to sample local Oregon wines.
I wish parking was free for guests, or the additional price was listed on the Booking.com website. Cost an additional $30 per day to park my rental car in the hotel lot.

Loved how large the rooms are and the kitchenette. For a historic hotel it was well renovated and modernized but still felt classic. Also loved the complimentary happy hour wine and cheese.
Individual at check in wasn’t very informative when asked where we could find some food. No map or directions provided. However, this was only one individual as the other staff were all amazing!!!

The room was spacious with a beautiful layout and design. Our room was a full suite complete with kitchenette and dining table besides the beds and couch itself. Even the bathroom was thought-through with a make up table so that 2 people can be getting ready at the same time.
I didn't like that the the only curtains in the room were the designer blackout blinds. It would have been nice to have sheers to that the natural light from the outside could be used. But since our room was on the first floor beside the lobby entrance, everyone could see us as they came in or out of the hotel if we had the curtains open. The sheers would allow for natural light to be present, while still giving a bit of privacy.

I made my booking in an executive room 4 month ago I can say I had a nice deal for it .On arrival I guess they give me the worst executive room, street level , one window facing the Tram , one window facing the hotel entrance very very noisy. When I ask for a change they told me no other room available even if I did my check-in at 4pm. My feeling was that good deal means as well bad room. To be fair I have to say room was very nice only wrong location but because I didn’t like the situation I won’t go again to this hotel .

I love the vibe here, and all services are great. The front desk is very nice and friendly, patient and helpful. The hotel is definitely older (as other reviews have noted) and still could use a refresh. The corners in the bathroom were destroyed and the executive king suite still smelled musty. The sofa bed (and sofa cushions themselves) definitely needs to be replaced. We weren't as concerned about the lack of housekeeping each day (and knew that going in). We enjoyed the wine hour nightly (from 5-6 pm) and refreshments. The staff were welcoming and helpful whenever asked.
Replace the sofa bed in the executive suite. Musty/moldy smell in the room (maybe do to lack of use). Could use some fresh paint and bathroom repairs. but overall, good location to some highlights of the city and fair price

This historic hotel is lovely. Staff is wonderful and even gave us complimentary champagne. Bed was comfortable, excellent shower.
There is no secured parking nearby. Our car was broken into right across the street. We learned that car alarms don’t go off if windows are smashed. Only if doors are opened without a key. There was nothing to steal. Hotel staff brought us broom and dustpan. I would find a garage and Uber to the hotel if you have a car.

The pet policy is crazy including a request not to leave your pet in your room plus a $25/day fee. While the hotel accepts pets, this was not a pet friendly hotel.
We were informed we needed to request housekeeping which we requested timely. The room was not cleaned without explanation or apology. We were offered a stack of clean towels from the front desk.
The hotel has up signs apologizing for lack of staff due to COVID. COVID-19 is now half a decade old, the labor market is steady, it’s time to move on.

Self park garage is very challenging for mid-size car. Hotel shifts all liability for damage and high likelihood of being blocked in to guest. Deal breaker. Checked out one day early to be sure I could make my flight (concerned I could not exit garage with rental car) and was charged for this night. The only reason I chose this hotel was Booking.com recommendation. You need to remove this hotel from recommended list.

Elevators are small, so be prepared to get cozy with strangers. We could hear the room flushing whenever they'd flush the toilet.

Stunning rooms and building, great downtown area - sheets were amazing!
Walls and floors were a little thin so we could hear people in the other tooms. Parking was also really expensive -$75 for two nights and then a $50 refundable deposit - not a hit we were prepared for!

The staff was amazing very helpful n welcoming. The room was beautiful nice size very clean n it came with a kitchenette n surprisingly also came with dishes, pots n pans, n silverware. Very spacious beautiful building n I'd definitely recommend this place to stay.
The wifi was acting up a little bit but other than that this place is where it's at

Great hotel, helpful front desk, good location. Our room was very nice. And the price was amazing for the quality of the hotel! Plus, free wine bar every evening.
Really nitpicking here, but parking is expensive (I would just street park and feed the meter), and the free coffee in the main lobby wasn't very good. But neither of those were big deals.

Check in was easy, parking was great
The hallway that our room was on smelled really bad---2nd floor. It was noticeable as soon as getting off the elevator.
I'm not sure we got the same type of room that we originally booked. The chair in the room was very stained. It was obvious it is a very old hotel, but to me that isn't an excuse for not keeping it up to standards. The lights by the bed were very dusty.

Wine hour, location, reception staff were lovely, big room with 2 doubles and a sofa bed was perfect! Good size bathroom (but door slider, so not very confirtable)
Coffee order from the little bar/coffee bit was undrinkable (try the free coffee instead!) and I never say that. Bathroom door, not sound proof
