The room was comfy and efficient! We stayed here for Kumoricon and wanted a cheap place with easy access to the con center... this place didn't disappoint. It's near quite a few bus and light rail stops which made it a great choice for us since we didn't have a car. The breakfast was also really good! Overall a nice place.
For some reason, one of the faucet knobs fell off when I went to wash my hands. I was able to put it back on easily but I wasn't expecting it to pop off so easily. Since we were on the ground floor, I heard quite a lot of people walking or driving by; it didn't impact my sleep but my sister had a bit more trouble falling and staying asleep. Also the heater was set to Celsius so I couldn't figure it out at first, haha. But nothing too serious.

Decent location that is easy to get to everything with a tram stop right outside hotel. Staff really nice, hotel clean and had no issues about safety.
Tv very old with limited channels. Laundry room could’ve been a lot cleaner. Bed very loud even just sitting on it made a really loud noise: Could’ve been comfier but wasn’t uncomfortable

The staff was very nice and kind. The bed was comfortable. The room was fairly big. Location was not bad. The facility was clean. The cost was great. Renting a meeting room at the last minute was easy and Virginia was very helpful.
I didn't particularly like that the room entry was from outside. Maybe in the summer when it is warmer, it would be nice, but it seems scary to walk around a facility when it is dark, to a room that you enter from outside. It seems a bit unsafe.

Parking difficult. Got charged $13.00 for parking in their lot! Then i got a parking ticket from the university, and the check-in staff never asked for my vehicle plate number. Breakfast hot bar not functioning as eggs, bacon was not hot. The Portland area is in transition stay out of downtown.

Room was great. I had hoped to visit the gym and the pool but did not. The outside pool looked good, but did not open until 10 am.
The breakfast was a bit underwhelming. Best for me were the scrambled eggs and sausage. Not a lot of fruit selections and the yogurt was tiny. There was a lot of cereal, but that is not one of my favorites. Nor is toast.

University Place Hotel & Conference Center is a good choice for staying in Portland. Its convenient central location makes exploring the city a breeze. The friendly and helpful personnel ensure a pleasant and comfortable experience.
I don't understand the $12 fee to park next to the hotel. And the breakfast was very poor and cheap, I think it's better not to have it at all.

9 am leaf blowing outside my window. Also paying for parking should be included in room rent. The sports bar/restaurant is all about sports but nobody is in there watching the game. Would be nice to have family shows on the TV "s or beable to ask for the channel to be changed.I also wish there was a menu and/ or specials posted walking into the hotel lobby because I already had a long drive and I didn't want to go any where. Especially walk that much further to check it out. I was there for medical, so I don't get around so good. Ya, may have a few negatives, but a nice place to stay. With or without improvements. The staff is great and the manager. The food was good too. I think this place is a little gem. Any time I am in the area this is my new go too. I would give this a 10 ot of 10. Every place can always make improvements.Great Job everyone!!

Everything in this hotel is old. The room had a bad smell to it. The beds too soft. The breakfast was bad with no variety and also in an old room which looked like sooo outdated. I guess this hotel was build in the sixties and there has never been a renovation. Actually we booked for 2 nights, but stayed just 1. I thought it all to be depressing. I've been to a lot of hotels but this one is bad. And i am not a picky person. They should be ashamed to collect money from guests but to do absolutely nothing to improve!

For a 2 star hotel, it was a reasonable place with a noise-free fridge, microwave and coffee machine in the room. There was also free coffee/tea in the lobby. The small pool with sunbeds was also OK for relaxation. Parking at a reasonable price.
As a European, I don't understand the hotels that have carpets everywhere. They do not contribute to the experience of cleanliness and smell.
