From the beginning of arriving the valet staff was wonderful, Damien was the gentleman that greet it us and was very informative and his customer service was on point!!! The front desk agent named Marquee was also very friendly helpful and informative his customer service was excellent, I would recommend and will stay at the Hilton Garden Inn San Antonio Downtown Riverwalk again in my future trips to SA!! Breakfast Buffet was also a plus the ladies and the chef Rene were wonderful and the food tasted amazing!! Cant say enough about my experience. It has definitely topped my stays at many hotels near this one and Im glad I made my reservation here.

Fab location for visiting downtown San Antonio. Very close to The Alamo and to the river. Recommend walking along the river the The Pearl Brewery (about 1 miles). The river walk is fabulous with some great bars an restaurants very close to the hotel. Breakfast was great (except cereals, see below). Lovely mushroom & cheese omelette and plenty of bacon

My sole criticism of this hotel is that all the cereals on offer for breakfast were sugar coated or chocolate. Not great for people trying to reduce sugar intake.

The mattress on left side was somewhat broken down There was not much space for our suitcase. We don't empty everything into drawers for just a few nites, like to pack so everything is convenient to use right from our suitcase.. the map furnished at checkin to locate sights was very unclear. No street names in many cases. Also didn't get information about the hotel amenities, including pool location etc.

Having a room next to the alleyway & being awakened every morning by the garbage truck at 4:00 in the morning sucked!!!

Great location for all big attractions, Riverwalk was right behind us less than 4 mins. We visited the Market Square that was a nice 15-20 mins walk but lots to see in the way! The Alamo was literally right down the street! Loved our stay very much! If you enjoy whiskey, a whiskey distillery right across the street and donuts and coffee right next door!

Valet parking a bit pricey and no free breakfast with stay!

Cook to order breakfast was good. Was hoping for a selection or pancakes as well.

We came to hotel approximately 1:30 as we had 2 pm city tour booked. We were not allowed to check in bit we were allowed to park the car. Explained to valet we needed to go on tour so would be calling for car later in evening just to get luggage. Only later did I learn we could have taken luggage from car and to store in hotel until we could check in. Also when we did return from tour couldn't request car until had room number bit can't get room nu per till check in. Once had number did go online to request car to get luggage. 25 minutes later valet asked if I had requested car. I showed him confirmation that I had. He then looked in the valet office and found my car keys. So overall the check in and getting my luggage took over an hour. Better communication is needed.

The room was a nice size, quiet, and clean. The bathroom (shower only) was ok too. The lobby was on the 1st floor and nice. The staff was pleasant but didn't try too hard to impress. The balcony/terrace off the lobby level was sunny and lovely. The location was great! All in all a good place to stay.

For nearly 300$ a night, I expected a fancier interior. The main entry door on street level was locked at all times and there was no sign to indicate we needed to enter from the side. The elevator was slow, and one of out of service for a day. The staff was not rude, but not too welcoming either. The entry area on street level was not too inviting.

the breakfast was not good as I battled to get fat-free milk and the coffee was never hot. the decaf coffee was also not available most of the time. I saw it once. I wanted fried eggs but they were not available.
