We chose this hotel because it was conveniently located directly across the street from Sutter Hospital. We highly recommend staying here if you have need to be close to the hospital. This hotel building has been here since 1908. It has been well maintained and very tastefully updated through the years. It has an old, yet very classy charm. The lobby is lovely with generous, inviting areas for seating. We felt very safe in the hotel. Key card or intercom access is required to enter the hotel from outside. Once inside a key card is required for access between hallways, elevators, and obviously your room. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Although we did not take advantage, Mel's Diner is convienly accessible from the lobby of the hotel.

We found it be a little confusing when entering the hotel from the parking garage. Especially from the lower garage. Entering the hotel for the first time from the parking garage does not create the best first impression. However, once inside and in the lobby, the charm is soon realized.

We’ve stayed here multiple times, we’ve returned because it’s well priced and feels like a safe location. It’s clean and the staff is always very helpful. It’s also somewhat centrally located so getting Ubers to other areas of the city is very convenient.

The only issue I’ve ever had staying there is, the walls are somewhat thin, you can hear the muffled sound of your neighbors including showers. Parking is also very limited and very tight, but to be expected in SF.

The property was very well maintained. The staff was amazing and I love the gated garage. I must say the beds were so comfortable even the pillows were the perfect amount of fluff and comfort. I absolutely loved the decor inside the hotel. It had its own charm. We definitely took advantage and took some beautiful pictures.

There’s absolutely nothing negative. I have to say about this property.

The location of the facility was conveniently located around everything we wanted to see.

The staff was pleasant, but the parking situation could use improvement. There were available parking spots in the upper garage, but we were routed to the lower level. The beds in the room were uncomfortable. The room itself was clean and nicely decorated, but the beds and pillows were not very comfortable.

There is essentially hardly any parking at this hotel. They close down the gates at a certain time and will refuse to let you park in their garage if checking in by a certain time. I had to spend extra just to park across the way at a meter

The hotel and room were very comfortable and clean. The room had almost all of the amenities that you would expect in a nice hotel, including shampoo, conditioner and bath soap dispensers inside the shower stall.

I would have liked to have access to a free coffee/tea bar where creamers and sugar/honey were available for making my morning tea. The elevator was unusually slow.

The area was very nice, with lots of public transportation around. At check-in, the staff were very nice and apologetic for the wait as there were a few people in front of me. The room was very nice and clean, as well as cold.

I believe, there were only 2 elevators to go up to the rooms. The only downside really was that the bathrooms and the gym were downstairs.

The parking!!! They don’t explain that even when you pay for secure parking, it might be off sight and you have to walk from the underground garage in downtown San Francisco. There was a homeless man laying right in front of the hotel as you walk in. The staff that checked me in, seemed bothered to answer my questions. I also requested a room with a bathtub over 2-3 months ago. They did not give deliver on that request. I find it hard to believe that they could not plan better given several months notice. Also I don’t mean anything bad towards the cleaning staff. They were very kind but There are 2 small elevators and during the day they use the back one(right next to my room) to go up and down to turn around rooms. It took 3 times before I could get on it. There is also only 5 floors. I just will not be returning to stay there mainly because of the front desk
