Always a beautiful place to stay, especially with all the amazing Christmas decorations. Glad to see the Tonga Room is still going strong. The food in the restaurant for dinner was absolutely delicious, great wait staff.

I remember a fancier menu at the Tonga Room - this one was fairly basic Hawaiian food. Also, it would have been nice if the band was more like Martin Denny exotica or Hapa Haole Polynesian. Any chance of turning the Cirque Room back into an Art Deco bar? Seems like such a waste to have it only for pastries and coffees.

Freezing cold hallways are a black mark on your facility. It is unacceptable the you cannot afford to hear the hallways at the high prices of your rooms!! Also the ugly new bar in the main lobby is an insult to the extraordinary quality design of the Fairmonts main entrance. That you would relegate the beautiful Christmas tree annually decorating the main lobby to a corner while you give precedence to a tacky bar that one cannot even sit at is both an insult to the French tradition of champagne all done for the sake of a few more dollars of profit!! Does this nation and the French corporation, Acor, which owns the Fairmont not have the least pride in tradition. FOR SHAME,Y TRIESTE!

The customer service was wonderful and attentive and kind. We ordered room service and it was prompt and tasted spectacular! The bathroom was well stocked and clean and the shower had excellent heat and pressure. Even though there was a lot of activity in the lobby, our floor and our room were incredibly quiet and peaceful.

Our room was a queen room and was fairly small--the hotel was very booked due to lots of competing events in the area so there weren't a lot of options left. It also smelled strongly of cleaning supplies when we first entered, but that dissipated over time. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were not very supportive. If we'd stayed more than a night we would have asked for more.

I loved the space of the room. So spacious for my entire family. Loved the walk in closet, the steamer, umbrella in rooom. Loved having a robe to wear and the efficiency of the room service.

The faucet in our room was not functional and they gave us the room knowing it didn’t work. The door to the conjoint room was unlocked and the other guest came into our room. We did call security and they were able to lock it.

1) Super old building, there’s no sound insulation between the rooms whatsoever - I could hear the guy in the next room snoring in the middle of the night, let alone doing other nighttime activities. Bathroom is hardly 5*, 3 at best. 2) Queues on the check in and check out are ridiculous - not only during peak hours, there are people constantly waiting in the lobby (we had to wait half an hour to get checked in) 3) Loo in the lobby is disgusting - doesn’t even have proper toilet paper roll holders, so the rolls are just sitting on the floor 4) Hotel doesn’t provide breakfast box upon request - we had an early departure trip (6am ish), and the front desk said “they don’t do breakfast boxes.

Check in was a disaster. Long wait. Rooms not ready at 5-15 pm Lobby was chaos due to gingerbread festival The bar charged 90 dollars for three cocktails: no bar chairs. Sat down at empty table to be told "restaurant only" Moved to high trestle table and asked waitress to move empty glasses: she suggested we did. Day of departure asked for late checkout- told it was 150 dollars despite room not being ready : was 1 minute late at 2-00 pm to collect luggage and was locked out of room- took a further 20mins to retrieve entry key and told to be out of room by 2-30 And this is the great Fairmont?!

For a major hotel with somewhere around 5000 rooms and many more daily visitors there was basically one old dining room with seats for 5 guests at the only bar. There is very little in the hotel for guests outside of staying in their rooms. What there was is old and outdated. And there is little alternative options in the neighborhood.

Fun to be in that neighborhood enjoying classic elegance. Bed and shower both comfy.

My stay was spoiled by underhanded pricing at the gym. I treated myself to a massage, even though it was expensive. I was told a price on the phone but after the massage I read my email receipt they had added a "mandatory 20% gratuity" without telling me. (I had already tipped the massage therapist directly with cash.) I went to the gym to ask Eric when I had agreed to that. I was told it was in the confirmation email. It wasn't. I was told they would refund me that portion of the payment but it takes 5 days. They didn't. I called five business days later and Eric said, "I'm doing it right now." No refund. I started a dispute with my credit card company and got the refund.

The room was falling a part and old in so many ways. I have stayed at many Fairmont properties and in luxury hotels around the world. This was so disappointing. Our ceiling had multiple areas of water damage and cracked, chipping paint. The bathroom had dark mold in multiple grout locations and I questioned how long it had been since it was properly cleaned and inspected. The desk chair material was literally shredding off. There were no bathrobes provided. Despite being a guest and paying a lot per night to stay, the gym was not included in the cost.

The room was large & dark, during the night. At ~8:00, when I woke, it was a little brighter - perfect for me.

The bed was a touch softer than ideal for me.
