This hotel is a real treasure. After you enter you feel like you’re in another time. The whole interior design was exceptional beautiful, as was our suite. Very clean and large and the bed was so comfortable.
Breakfast was also really good with fresh fruits and a good selection of bread.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay only in this hotel when we come back to San Francisco. Highly recommended!

I stayed with my husband and 7-year-old daughter at the Majestic Hotel at the end of June.The hotel is in a very convenient location in San Francisco, with easy access to all points of interest by public transportation.The building is old, but it's better described as historic, extremely well cared for and very well maintained. A little gem.Our room was spacious, comfortable, very clean and well maintained. The same care was found in the linens.The included breakfast was a very well-stocked buffet, offering continental breakfast, fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, and the option to make fresh waffles and warm bagels.We obviously had a great time, excellent value for money, but a great accommodation overall. If I'm lucky enough to return to San Francisco, I would definitely return to the Majestic Hotel.

They say your room number out loud when you check in...that is the biggest no no when at a hotel. They should just point to your room number. As a solo female guest I am very aware of my surroundings and a bit paranoid of trafficking so I hate that they said my room number out loud when I checked in.

We checked in and the receptionist didnt tell us that there someone who was working to the room next door. We were tired from the flight, we wanted to sleep and the noise was horrible. Called receptionist he didnt answer. Tried to sleep again, noo, then called again, he said oh yeah someone is fixing something will get done for 30min, no it lasted more than another hour.

Had a fantastic stay at the hotel. Will definitely stay again and I will recommend to everyone I know to stay here. Loved the fact that some of the old decor is still present from 1902. Our suite was very spacious and clean.
The TV in the living room had no power and the TV in bedroom worked but the door to the hutch wouldn’t stay open. So had to rig the door in order to watch tele.

This property will always have a special place in my heart. My fiancé and I stayed here the weekend he proposed! We ended up choosing to come to SF to escape the heatwave and this property had the best price for the room and the short notice (we booked the day before we arrived lol)
When we arrived for check in, we were greeted by “Maria”. She was so sweet and gave us a quick rundown. Once we were given our room key, we were given a suite on the 4th floor (406). It was so beautiful, it’s insane that the property has been around since 1902 - it’s still giving vintage boujee! It’s in an excellent location, very quiet streets compared to when we stay in union square. We walked down to Japantown and had breakfast before we hung out at the Presidio where we got engaged! We really enjoyed our stay here
Our last day at the property, the Uber driver that dropped us off at the hotel mentioned the hotel was haunted. I’m a very superstitious individual so I wasn’t going to acknowledge anything until we left. What i did find was that the owner’s daughter is said to haunt the property as it was her old home (makes total sense, poor thing). They said room 407 is the spookiest room in the building. Did i mention we were staying in 406? The only “creepy” things we noticed while there was ALL throughout the night it seemed like there were people walking around above us? We always sleep with white noise playing so it really drowns out noise (also highly recommended because everything is already old and squeaky in general) but you could still hear the “footsteps”. The other thing that made my heart jump was the ceiling fan. We didn’t use the ceiling light after our first day in the room. It has its own remote which my fiancé kept on his side of the bed. Around 3am the light from the ceiling fan cut itself on while we were asleep. We both woke up and he clicked the light off. No biggie. We fell back asleep and around 3:50, the light cuts back on… again we wake up and kinda like look each other like “that’s the 2nd time now and we were both asleep”. He cut it off once more and we kinda laid there. I fell back asleep around 5 and the light didn’t cut back on. I felt him get out of bed to see it was around 6:30. I rolled back over to go back to sleep and about 15 min later the light cut back on. I expected to see him in the room with the remote in his hand but I was the only one in the bedroom and the shower water was running so I knew he was still in the bathroom. I got up and grabbed the remote to cut it off again but in that moment I did notice the absolute silence of the footsteps. Once i cut the lights, the footsteps started up immediately. Coincidental or not, I think that little girl is still living in the hotel.

Nice that there’s a bar and dining room.
Our only complaint was that there is a very bright light right outside our window which made it difficult to get the room dark enough to sleep well. They have two sets of shades and drapes, but the drapes were not adjustable enough to block the light coming in the sides of the shades.

It is old but a grand dowager and an excellent place to stay for a very reasonable price. Great value and a great location. It is a tribute to old Sam Francisco. Many of the rooms are named for our local heroes.

The property is very centrally located to Japantown and walkable (30-40 min) to areas of Pacific Heights, Union Square, Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, and the painted ladies. The showers have great water pressure and heat up quickly. The bed is comfortable if you like a firm bed.
The property has a weird smell throughout the building, likely an old musky smell because it is a classic hotel. The gym leaves something to be desired, it doesn’t have much going on.

We stayed on a weekend, so got a good price for the room. Breakfast was very nice. location was good but no parking. Was able to find parking a block away at a sister hotel. We had two rooms, one wheelchair accessible and one regular, both had one king bed and were close together. They were nicely decorated with a Victorian style.
First night (Friday) there was a loud party going on down the hall, the management had to come a quite down the people in that room.

The breakfast was really great. The value of the accommodation was also very good. The location and the facilities are very well priced compared to other hotels.
Certain stuff was very outdated. Our toilet flooded multiple times (even without flushing toilet paper). There was also some creaking from above and the lights flickered multiple times.
