The Kimpton Alton is located right near Fishermans Wharf. There is also a couple of bus/street car stops nearby. The staff was great, the room was La rge and comfortable, and it was spotless.

Power was off on July 5th for several hours. Elevator was broken. No iron or laundry bags in the room. No free shuttle to airport.

Its clean and renovated. Its good location. The gym was small but machines were new and in good condition.
They charged us extra for amenities. So keep in mind you will end up paying more than what youre supposed to pay when you book. Room is really tiny and lacks some basics like microwave or coffee machine.

We booked a room for 4 people and selected a rate with breakfast included. When we got to breakfast, we were told that we get a $50 voucher to spend at the restaurant for breakfast. The average choice per person is about $20 without any drinks, so no way you could have breakfast for 4 people with $50?! I asked staff about it and they were VERY RUDE. The literally told me that it was my problem since that is the booking.com package? It doesnt say that anywhere in my booking. Again, the location is good, staff is not willing to help and very rude.

The room was clean, great strong shower, nice soaps, good beds and overall nice hotel which is located perfectly. We got $10/day to spend on beverages or snacks from the little shop in the lobby.
Staff was arrogant (or 'fake friendly' as you could call it) and one guy was even rude. It is not a cheap hotel, especially when you pay a lot for parking, so we expect everybody to be friendly or polite at least. Staff needs training.

Breakfast included was a joke. Got a $50 voucher for 2 people to the restaurant in the hotel but was so expensive and had excessive fees of 24% north including tax which made it so you really could only afford 1 breakfast and maybe an extra side of eggs but no drink. It was ridiculous and frustrating.
The room was deceiving in booking. They show pictures for two different room. One with an extra chair to sit in which meant there was a little extra room but one picture shows a different room with no chair. With an infant we needed that extra room and seat which was why we booked that room.

location was perfect, in a safe area and plenty of places to eat walking distance. we were given $10 per day to use in their little snack shop which was a nice surprise. The room was huge, and shower was amazing.
staff were all lovely bar one lady who seemed a little abrupt when we were checking out, and was going to charge us for using the hotels chargers (even though we didnt ask for them, the plugs just werent working when we originally tried them so the handy man brought different cables up to try to check it wasnt ours that were broken).

An in room coffee maker would be nice, we did request one from the front desk to be sent to the room which is a service. Flavored creamers would ne nice too.

The location is perfect. Easy one block walk to the waterfront. Numerous places to eat and drink right out the door. No need for car which is good, parking is extremely expensive in this area. The entire hotel staff are friendly and helpful.
Can not think of a single thing. If you like coffee in your room just request a Nespresso, otherwise you must go to lobby for that first cup.
