Proximity to main attractions but not in the middle of the chaos
The hotel light outside not illuminated. The main thing was that the city had to turn off the water one morning. No one from the staff warned us if this. It was turned off from 8am-10am, which isn’t bad except that when we woke up at 8:15am we couldn’t use the bathroom at all. Since we had plans and couldn’t stay until after the water was turned on, we had to find restrooms out in town. Not the hotels fault but apparently the city had posted warnings the day before. Since we don’t read or speak German, we did not read the signs. It would have been nice to have been warned from the hotel so that we could have been up and finished getting ready before 8am on that day . Quite inconvenient.

No one was on reception when I arrived, so had to call to get an entry code. The keys were left in an envelope on the unattended desk, which didn’t feel very secure. The room smelled like smoke, the lights didn’t work, the aircon didn’t work, there were no towels and there was an unclean, used robe. The name is very misleading as neither breakfast nor champagne was included. When I called to complain, they instructed me to fetch my own towels from an unlocked laundry cupboard and they provided a small lamp, but no other issues were addressed. The internet connection didn’t reach our room. Really disappointing.

There’s nothing Champagne about this place if you don’t have the breakfast, it’s well over sold. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice little hotel but over priced. You can hear all the other guests, our en suite was very small (although the room was comfortably large) and the advertised bathrobes were nowhere to be seen. And don’t arrive outside the hours that the reception operates as you could find it difficult to get in if you haven’t got your code to hand.

Very nice place, rooms were big enough and beds were comfy. The breakfast was excellent as they also provided made to order egg options (i.e. they would ask what you wanted such as fried or scrambled eggs and brought to your table) which was really nice. Location was pretty good with food options at your doorstep and pretty easy to get anywhere in town by foot and main subway/tram station maybe 3 minute walk away.
Parking. If you have a car, you need to go to parking garage nearby and the access and indications at this place are awful. This is not the fault of the B&B but it does make things more complicated as you also need to lug baggage around.
