The room that I reserved through “booking.com” was not the room that I stayed in. The room that I reserved stated that there was a queen size bed in the room, showed a large room and showed a large bathroom with two sinks. The room that I was given had a smaller bed, (a double, not a queen size bed) a smaller room overall and a much smaller bathroom. There wasn’t a lot of room to maneuver in the bathroom.

The hotel was stunning and in a perfect location. It was convenient to shops and restaurants and the staff was very friendly. It felt like we were staying in a museum. We loved visiting Quebec City.
The room was advertised as having a refrigerator but instead it was a fully stocked minibar so we could not store our own drinks in there. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our valet car when we checked out.

Rooms were exceptionally small; bathroom felt closet sized. One bathroom smelled of cigarettes despite being a non-smoking room. "Courtyard view" was of a wall. Breakfast not included as part of exorbitantly priced rooms.

Amazing historical hotel but…
They have dropped quality on services and underserve customers. Understaffed for the amount of customers they need to cater for. 5 star hotel, 4 star service. Dont get me wrong they have great amenities, amazing location, but because its so large and understaffed you end up having to expend energy to get anything.
Normally i could understand given scale of the place but for the price tag they charge, id honestly expect more attentive service

Love the property's history, location, room and restaurants. The only thing I didn't care for was the pool area (way overcrowded with screaming kids) and the lockers for the Spa were not separate from the pool crowds which made it uncomfortable. The food at the restaurants was incredible and the service, including room service was top notch.
Pool area and lack of separate locker area for people going to the spa was a dissapointment. Also, the man's locker room only had a dry sauna and the steam room was only available at the ladies locker room. The men's spa was part of the pool area which was overcrowded and full of screaming kids.

Phone: I was shocked to learn that every call was charged, including local calls. That made it difficult since our phones did not work in Canada and it was not worth paying for an international plan when we just wanted to call the restaurant.
TV: I tried all I could but I could not turn the CC on for any channel. Also would have liked a content listing usually available when one channel surfs and hits the "info” button. And there usually is a channel that shows a program listing, which helps to choose what to watch, especially since the shows are all new to us (different country and language).
Fridge: not happy about not being able to refrigerate our own things(restaurant leftovers, water) because it was prefilled with food & drinks to purchase. Also it was unclear if we would be charged for simply checking out a bottle before returning it to its spot. I had to call and ask the concierge.
Toilet: set a little too tightly, Toilet paper too close and rubs when one is seated
Bathroom: could have used some more hooks for hanging clothes etc.

Of course, this is a grand legacy hotel and you have to stay there for at least one night to enjoy Quebec City fully.
Room is relatively small, and check-in time is very late. It's too expensive in the hot season.

Well situated, boardwalk right outside,tour bus pickup only few steps away, shops and restaurants only a short walk. Staff helpful and friendly. Excellent bar on premises for late night drink.
Took a while for hot water to expel from faucet.

For the amount of guests this hotel accommodates it should have much more chairs and couches throughout the lobby for people to sit , talk and read before and after they plan their day .

The hotel needs major upgrade. It’s tired and run dow. Our window was boarded up, no drawer space at bedside, we had to request robes, no slippers, tv was ridiculously hard to work, light switches were unturnable at bedside, peeling paint. Our friend needed an extra connector to use streaming services in her tv. We were quite surprised, for the money, at the amount of things that needed attention.
