About Krafft Basel

The Hotel Krafft Basel and restaurant can be found in the heart of the city, right on the bank of the Rhine river with its Mediterranean-style promenade. Laptops with wireless internet access and printers are available for free. The view of the historical scenery on the other side of the river is breathtaking - be it from the restaurant or the terrace overlooking the lively river promenade.

You will get the mobility ticket for free use of all public transport in town during your stay. The Krafft is a classical building with a famous past. For example Hermann Hesse used to stay here writing most of its well-known novel “Der Steppenwolf”.

Your hotel booking confirmation is also the ticket for the public transfer from the airport or train station to the hotel. Hotel guests are entitled to a 25% discount at the Rebgasse public car park.

The hotel has a great location by the Rhine River very close to many restaurants and shops. I was upgraded to a corner room located in a building opposite the main building and I really enjoyed the extra space. The room was also quiet and private. Great location by the river. Good choice at breakfast. Convenient coffee and tea station on the landing of each floor. When I asked for non-feather duvet and pillow these were provided. I asked for a bath robe and they brought it within 5 min.

Staff was very courteous and welcoming. Rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was varied and plentiful. Location to city was easily walkable. Rooms over looked a Christmas Market in one side of the building and a lrge river walk on the other side of the building.

All the receptionists and other staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast, while expensive, was good. The amenities were good and there was freely available tea, coffee, water. We would stay there again.
