Really great location - quiet residential neighborhood on the canal. We had a small room in the basement facing the parking lot (versus the street which would have more people walking directly by your window). Room furnishings are a little quirky (no place to put your suitcases and chairs instead of proper bedside tables). Bathroom was clean and huge. This is a charming well-managed boutique hotel - not a cookie cutter mega-chain. Staff are very friendly and community is encouraged. Strongly recommend reserving one of the social dining dinners - it was a highlight (it seems to attract many locals). Breakfast not included in rate but was also high quality. Daily (minimal) room cleaning (towel replacement, bathroom wipe down, bed make up) much appreciated when so many other hotels have eliminated this service.

I stayed alone in this room, and it was a wonderful experience. I never would have thought that such an authentic space could hide behind such modest doors.
The hotel looks like an apartment building, with each apartment as a room. Every room is unique and special. I stayed in a large room with a canal view.
Every detail of the interior was simply stunning. It had a true Scandinavian vibe. The room was very clean and spacious.
The bathroom had everything I needed.
I’m so grateful for the welcome letter and homemade lemonade. It was such a wow moment.
A big thank you to the wonderful staff who work there. You are so kind and warm.
I regret only staying for one day. I’ll definitely be back!

It’s a set in a beautiful historic building that has been renovated and decorated with great care and charm. We stayed in one of the apartments for 5 nights in mid winter so opted for space to be able to really relax in after exploring the city all day.

I've stayed several times previously but in the apartments. This time because of changed personal circumstances I decide to stay in one of the small basement rooms just before Christmas. It was exactly what I required. The bathroom was super. Breakfasts were exceptional. The staff were very attentive and caring. The location on the Christianshavn Kanal is wonderful. its a short walk to the metro and buses for which it is best to download the Rejsekort app for your phone (will save you money). The local area is full of good restaurants and cafes.
The small basement room that i had did not have a wardrobe but that was a very minor issue.

A very nice hotel in Christianhavn, which is arguably the nicest area in Copenhagen. You can easily walk into town from this hotel, or use the Metro. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and pleasant to deal with.
The bar area is very stylish, which is where we had breakfast. The breakfast was great, with wonderful coffee and orange juice. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to Copenhagen as this place is so very Danish.

What a beautiful place. The whole concept is positive. The rooms are downstairs, so they're very quiet, people live on the first floor and the dining, bar and resting area are on the 2nd floor. The decor is fantastic, beautiful, and VERY tasteful - full of Danish design, fabrics and lots of seating area. The breakfast is a la carte so you get what you order and only pay for that. The granola and sourdough bread are to die for:)) I loved the social dining concept. It's a big thing in Denmark.
The only thing I didn't appreciate was the garbage truck at 6:00 on Wednesday morning. Dragging containers over the cobblestones is quite loud. Thankfully it was only one day.

We really loved our stay here. The location is perfect- close to everything but not in the hustle and bustle of the busy areas just a few streets over. We participated in a few of the events the hotel was putting on, like the morning dip and the communal dinner. Both were great. I also really like the branding- would love to see it on some merchandise. The hotel’s common area is in the bar/dining room, there aren’t TVs in the room, there wasn’t a coffee pot/fridge in the room- so just manage your expectations that this isn’t set up like a traditional hotel. This don’t bother us at all, but still thought I’d mention.

The beds were okay, not excellent. The handheld shower nozzle didn't work, so you had to get your hair soaked by the waterfall shower head if you wanted to shower. The biggest gripe is that the kitchen staff set off the smoke alarm before 7:00 a.m. because they didn't turn on the fan, thus dragging all of us out of bed to sit outside for 15 minutes until Fire Control came and finally gave the okay for us to go back in. Accidents happen and I wouldn't complain, but there was no apology. The guy outside just said they would put on a pot of coffee if anybody wanted a free cup of coffee. Ridiculous. Everybody standing out in nightgowns and crying babies, and all they offer is a cup of coffee. Not another mention of it. I wanted to leave a better review, but that left a pretty sour taste in my mouth.

We waited some time to be checked in as the bar was busy and it is the bar staff who check in and out of the hotel facilities. I thought overall it was very expensive for the service given. The information guide given was poor, this did not matter but again in terms of value for money it could have been improved.

They came with a washer, dryer and functional kitchen. Beds extremely comfortable and wished we stayed a few more days. I cannot rave enough about the hotel/apartment, its very inviting

Where should I start? The apartment is huge (we really got a big space!). The separate washer and dryer were perfect. It was spotless and the staff were super helpful and sweet! Views of the canal from our windows were lovely. We always look forward going back after going around town.
The family just loved our stay here. Can’t go wrong here! It is simply one of the best.

There is a real warmth & feeling of belonging not found in most hotels. The long tables for dining & the optional group activities promote connection with fellow travellers & locals & put Kanalhaset on a level above most accommodations. Also extremely warm & comfortable & beautiful building & staff delightful.
