Central location, comfortable room.

Official check in is at 4 PM, and even though the room would have been ready at 1 PM, I was told that I would need to pay €20 for "early check in". This really was a disappointing start for my stay at the hotel, particularly since I had just stayed in another Scandic hotel, where such a rule wasn't enforced, making my stay there a lot more positive.

We were a bit confused about the Sauna. The paper at the Sauna door said it is open 6am-10am Mo-Su, but when we'd like to go on Monday it was closed and the reception said it is only opened at afternoon during workdays.

The staff was amazing, they even met my special request of receiving a room with a bathtub. Additionally, the location is amazing, perfect for a short holiday in Helsinki, since the inner city can be reached by foot without problems! The hotel is also just about a 10min walk from the main train station of Helsinki (it is hill upwards though in case you have trouble walking).

The location was perfect for my needs: it was central and close to other places I was visiting during my stay. The room was spacious and clean, and had everything I needed. Brie for breakfast was also a nice added touch.

Although breakfast was overall good, I would have appreciated some more bread options and some kind of salami in addition to the ham alternatives.

This hotel is a perfect spot to stay if you are going to Helsinki! It's just a short walk to the main station, where you can get anywhere in Helsinki in a matter of minutes. The breakfast was delicious! The beds could have been a little more comfortable, but otherwise this was a great place to stay! There are tons of food options and shopping in this area.

My only complaint, and I think it's a Scandic hotel thing, is that you have to pay for coffee. I think for the cost of the hotel, a simple thing like a cup of coffee should be included, not $4.

The location was excellent, being a 5-10min walk from the main railway station. There is a tram stop immediately outside of the hotel, with an excellent tram network serving the city. There are cafes and restaurants close by, as well as a shopping centre. The staff were excellent and the hotel felt clean, safe and well managed.

The aircon in the rooms was terrible, if indeed it worked at all (we had 2 rooms and it was same in both). The rooms were too warm and there was no way to control the fan speed. You could open the window but there was a lot of noise from traffic and trams, so not ideal. The poor aircon alone would cause me to choose a different hotel next time. Room cleaning was hit and miss. The beds were never made and on one morning a maid stopped me to ask if anything needed doing. I asked for the bathroom to be cleaned, which it was but I was surprised this was something to be requested. The shower is quasi wet-room style, so water tends to spray around the bathroom floor. It's a personal preference, but I prefer a separate shower. Breakfast was fine, and you pre-select a time slot the night before so that numbers can be managed, but even then the buffet tended to be a bit of a bun fight.

Location was brilliant. Bed was comfortable. Reception leant me a converter plug for whihc I was grateful. The play area for toddler was useful.

Housekeeping is beyond terrible, and they have no cards to give directions. Despite personally requesting several times, I was quite unhappy with them. I have never seen anyone make the bed this poorly, and that also after a request was quite poor. The room layout in terms of all lights being turned off by a few master switches was annoying and confusing. The rooms are hot, they say it has ventilation, but not really, the corridors are comfortable, but that air conditioning doesn't extend to the rooms, which is annoying. The bidet only turns on if you are also wasting water from the sink tap, which is just wasteful.
