We went there to celebrate a birthday and the birthday "package" was amazing, champagne and an excellent cake, and we were upgraded to a room with lake view. Staff is very friendly and we had a really nice stay. Very large double bed, super comfortable.
The spa area was not as expected, we were given a schedule late afternoon and asked to respect it, which we did. When we arrived it was absolutely packed with families who had been there for a long time and certainly not respected the hourly schedule. The hammam and sauna were so full we couldn't use them. We would have expected a more "cosy" and relaxing atmosphere, it felt like a public swimming pool.

We did not have any meal
You have to book the SPA for a specific slot (one hour). We booked ours from 5.45 to 6.45 on a Saturday evening. As much as we can understand it might be the busiest time of the day, I counted more than 30 people in it, and it’s small.
We did not stay for long; the pool is small and there was no chance of finding a spot in the sauna.
What a pity! I thought having to book a spot would garantee space.

Exceptional service from the staff and the room was beautiful, the bed very comfortable. We had dinner in one of the restaurants for 31 Dec, the food was just delicious and the albienxe really festive.
It goes without saying it's a drop dead gorgeous location, and a classic building. They could be lazy and rest on that, however the staff make this place super special. Every one of them is part of making any stay an event that lives on long after you leave.
Bravo the staff.

The location in front of the lake it was amazing, the palace it self is huge and incredible, the staff was helpful the room was big (I paid more to get the balacony room)
They didn’t upgrade me for free, i paid and no one make the room ready for me as it was my honeymoon and i write it in the booking.
The decor is a little dated and the prices a little inflated.

We knew it was a quality establishment and room and facilities matched our expectations. But the staff were tremendous throughout at the desk, concierge desk, restaurant and room staff. There were a number of touches such as complimentary bottles of water, fruit juice and chocolates and just an overall friendliness and willingness to help.

The location is ok - around €20 in Uber to the centre. You have a casino and spa and restaurants all under 1 roof for bad weather, but still suggest you eat elsewhere as food is ok.
Very dated, standard rooms extremely small for the price paid. Room service breakfast average and not much choice also for the price paid. Restaurant/bar area very dated felt almost retirement home like. Maybe 20 years ago it was modern and cool but it needs a serious update. Spa facilities small and overcrowded, treatments over priced. More like a good 3* hotel than 4*.

Old world hotel charm and excellent service. The spa(which allowed kids) was a huge win. We booked based on the pool in the spa and used it 3 times.
While not a terrible issue, the hotel is located roughly 15-20mins walk from the old downtown (where/what you want to see). If the weather is nice then it isn’t an issue and maybe a plus. If raining, then it’s not great.
