Just 5 minutes walking distance from the Biarritz beaches, sits Hotel Edouard VII, a 19th-century residence that combines the charm of yesterday and the comfort of today. This unique residence has a rich history based on its past residents. It was once the home of the Mayor of Biarritz.
It was also the place Napoleon III used to receive medical care on his visits to the region. Guestrooms are spacious and feature a refined and elegant décor. All are air-conditioned, soundproofed and equipped with private bathrooms, a flat-screen TV and free WiFi internet access.
The area surrounding Hotel Edouard VII has much to offer. In addition to the beautiful coast and its beaches, you will find restaurants, shops, museums and casinos. San Sebastien is only a 45-minute drive away.

Charming hotel situated in the centre of Biarritz. We were made so welcome when we arrived at our hotel and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful hotel inside and outside. Lovely reception rooms. Fabulous breakfasts in the morning. We were invited to a soirée on Saturday evening where we tasted local wines and produce from the area. The soft sweets on the counter and in the lounge were an added bonus! We loved this hotel for it's position, decor and lovely staff.
Everything was perfect.

A tiny thing - the very cool sink in the bathroom made us nervous - we were anxious the water was going to spill over !

Excellent central location a few minutes from Jardin Public bus stop in a very nice and quiet location. Room was good size with a good bathroom and shower. Bed was big and comfortable. Room had tea and coffee making facilities.
Staff were very welcoming, helpful and polite. There were small snacks available free of charge.
Breakfast was not included in price so can't comment on it.
The hotel is very nicely furnished in what might be called a colonial style with a lovely communal sitting room
The hotel is in an old building so does not have a lift. But staff were willing to help with luggage.

The staff were incredibly helpful and we found the decor delightful. It's worth noting that the hotel license is for wine only and not spirits. This was not a problem for us.
We stayed in room 112 and detected some noise from the room above albeit for a short time- we may go for a higher floor next time. the noise didn't detract from our enjoyment of our stay.

It was very clean, the room was beautiful, it felt more like 5 star than 3. Staff were amazing, so friendly and couldn’t do enough. We were sad to not make it up for the wine at 6pm, as it would have been nice to meet other guests. Breakfast was aplenty and delicious. Definitely be back and would highly recommend to others.
The air con gets turned off at the start of October which is fair enough but it was very warm while trying to sleep. But goodness it didn’t spoil the trip.
