Comfortable clean hotel centrally located in Caen. Ideal for sightseeing in the local area.
Parking is close by, but in a very restricted underground carpark. The hotel has 4 discounted slots otherwise you pay full rate.

The location is great for getting out into Caen and close to the citadel and all the sights. good for a solo traveller like myself. Staff were nice.
The bathroom and shower. No nice coffee, and the bed wasn’t that comfortable. Rather basic and small.

Breakfast buffet was very good with lots of options and quality food. Staff were pleasant. Parking option was nice but limited on number of spaces, so reservation is definitely needed. Front desk staff was lovely, spoke very good English and wanted to make sure you were happy.
Shower. The "wall" for the shower was so short that if you placed shower head in top position, water sprayed out onto room. Need longer wall, curtain - something. If planning trip to Normandy beaches, the majority would have been closer if staying in Bayeaux, unless you only want to see Canadian or British beaches/cemeteries. For bar area, carry some type of snacks to go with alcohol sold onsite. Location wasn't near walking area to local shops, etc., so we definitely needed a car!

Arrived early and left my luggage, no offer to get my room ready early as the previous Best Western plus did. I did return early to drop off some shopping and the lady at reception was very accommodating. On my return to check in it was nice to find my bags and shopping had been put in my room. The room had an art deco feel, the bed was massive and comfy. AC and WiFi both worked well. Located very close to the shops and a very pretty park.

The location on a pedestrian only section of the city was great and quiet. Within walking distance of all the sites. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Aruelia (sorry I know I spelled that wrong) she checked us in and provided great siteseeing and dining suggestions. Was grateful our room was ready early. Breakfast was good, plenty of options.
No outdoor space, but unless there is access to a rooftop it would be difficult to maintain space on a pedestrian walkway.

Turning up at the wrong hotel cos that's where their email sent me. Not having any black tea or milk available in my room. Being given a mere sorry when I complained about food and broken glass under the bed after my husband found glass in his foot and the excuse 'we can't do anything to compensate you cos you booked through booking.com'!

Nice, central location (although Satnav took us to the nearby sister hotel, the Royal..) Friendly welcome. Comfortable bed. Two opening windows, so no need to use air-con.
Parking: hotel car park was full, so we parked at nearby underground la République. Expensive! Our "executive room " was possibly the smallest 4* executive room we have stayed in. Tiny shower room, but separate loo helpful. Bedside lamps flickered on and off, annoying. Dodgy coffee maker!

Very central to shops, restaurants and sights, helpful staff, secure underground car park. Reception was staffed 24 hours a day.
Easy to pick up food for breakfasts rather than pay the 18 euros for the hotel's breakfast.
The duvetcover on the bed looked clean but the actual duvet could probably have done with a wash as it smelt stale.

Located in the center of town.
A generally tired hotel in need of refurbishment. Supposedly 4 star, but really doesn't live up to that.
No coffee machine (just instant sachets), barely-working wifi, a decades old tiny tv, and a generally dusty feeling throughout.

Hard to find at first. The “valet” is actually a self-park situation in an attached parking garage and it is very tight unless you have a super small car.
