We had a wonderful stay in the heart of Grenoble. The hotel staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a variety of options with plenty of fresh local products. We also appreciated the convenience of the private covered car park (available for an additional €18) located at less than five minutes walking from the hotel, which made our stay even more comfortable. Communication with the staff was easy and pleasant throughout. Our room featured a small balcony overlooking one of Grenoble’s central squares .
Rooms were clean to a good standard, though there is still some room for improvement.

We had likely one of the best rooms - on the 4th floor with a magnificent view of the central Place Victor Hugo with its park and central fountain and the mountains behind where the sun set in the evening. It was large with two sets of French windows on the side of the Place and another on a side street. The bed was large and comfortable, there was a sitting area with chairs and a table, and an electric kettle with tea and biscuits offered. The balcony wrapped all the way around. The bathroom was separate from the WC, a nice arrangement for two people. And both provided a buffer to the hallway, from which we were isolated by a small entry way that we could close off. The staff was extremely professional and went above and beyond to help. The hotel is steps from the pedestrian streets of the old city of Grenoble.
The relatively late check-in time for a hotel: 3pm. Also the bidet in the bathroom didn’t work and the bathtub shower drained slowly.

Parking. It is available but it is not near the hotel. In addition to it, parking places are very tight. So if you have a mid size car it would be challenging to park over there and to leave the parking. Also parking is in the walking distance from the hotel, which is also not the best option.

Le restaurant/bar le Palais is also one of our favourites and is also located on the square. The staff are remarkably competent and helpful.
