The location of the hotel is great since it is very close to public transport, almost a minute walk to both the trams and buses. It is also close to nearby restaurants and backeries. The staff is very helpful and speaks English, German and French.
The bathroom was shocking! We did not take a shower there because the shower rim was filled with dark mold. Also, no toilet paper was provided and the sheets could have been cleaned better (we found some small hairs on the mattresses)

Surprise heat wave meant that no air-conditioning made the nights miserable. The staff tried to mitigate, offering fans, etc., but a/c in summer in Alsace is a must.

The location was good - near downtown and University.
Entry to the hotel is through high stairs - we had heavy luggage (20+ kg) and we had to bring it in our hands to the reception.
The receptionist did not speak English.
We booked room for 3 person. On Booking it was stated that room is 20 square meters, but our room was maximum 10 square meters. With 3 beds we had no place at all.
There is no normal wardrobe, they made it from plasterboard and painted the same painting as walls, so we actually were afraid to put our clothes into it.
There is no fridge and no safe.
The bathroom is so tiny that when you clean your face your ass touches the door ?
The silicone in the shower was all moldy.
There is no noise isolation from the street and we heard each team very loudly. Door to the bathroom also not isolates any noise ?

The location is major win for me. It is located right in front of the tram stop. Easy to go from Central Station or the Old Town or European Parliament to the hotel. The hotel is pristine clean. Don't be tricked by the old appearance outside. We can see the owners do their effort to rejuvenate the room inside.
Yes, the hotel looks somewhat old outside. There were paintings inside the room which I like, because it helps a bit alleviate the room from looking too old. Bathroom is super clean, but yeah it' a tiny bit old especially in the shower.

We liked the location, not far from the center in a quite place.

We booked a triple room which was OK for 3 people, nice beds, clean, nice towels. It has a boiler and coffee (Nescafe)-tea bags and basic amenities (1 little bottle shampoo-body wash for each) at the bathroom. The location was OK, because the tram stop was just out side the hotel, and the center was only 2 stops away. We didn't not have breakfast.
We wanted a value for money hotel for 2 nights at Christmas time in Strasbourg, with easy access to the center and to the main station and that was exactly the Hotel Esplanade.
Everything was OK for the category of the hotel (2 stars).
I would like a coffee machine and more amenities at the bathroom.

Our room was facing the back of the building and unfortunately, due to both the awkward shape of the room and the structure of the building itself, it received almost no natural light. Even during the day, we had to keep the lights on. The room felt quite stuffy and smelled of dampness. The bathroom, in particular, had a strong musty and moldy smell, and the air was so humid and stale that it was almost hard to breathe. Additionally, the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly, which was quite inconvenient

The hotel is located in a pretty part of town close to the University. The tram stop is about 50M from the front of the hotel. It is an easy walk to the touristy part of the city. The hotel staff (I interacted with one man and one woman) was wonderful. So polite, professional and helpful. The hotel is in good repair and clean. The beds were good/comfortable (mine and I questioned my friends about their room). We all had hot water and good water pressure for showering. The hotel held our luggage after our stay until leaving in the early evening - that was appreciated. I would definitely stay here again. I don't know how difficult it is to find parking as I came by train.

relatively cheap for this town and you really know it by the shabby entrance. I don't recommend this place but if it is all that you can afford you could do worse. there was a good selection of local restaurants within walking distance. the room was clean. staff were coolly business like but not rude.

Fantastic location! Less than a minute from both bus and tram stops, making commutes effortless. It’s also perfectly situated for students, as it’s only a few minutes on foot from the UNISTRA Faculty of Law and the CROUS restaurant.
The unit is lean but lacks proper upkeep. The floors were dusty with cobwebs in the corners, and the bathroom had a strange, lingering smell. It definitely needs a deeper clean. I did have clean towels and sheets though (they didn't give me new towels every day, only when I asked for clean ones). You should leave the key with the receptionists each time you go out of the hotel. If you come back late at night, you should ring a lot so someone comes and opens the door of the hotel.
