The room was quite small, and it could get noisy at times. The outside sounds were very audible, which made it difficult to sleep.
During the Christmas market, taxis cannot reach the hotel entrance, so youโll need to carry your luggage from the designated drop-off point to the hotel, which can be quite inconvenient.

We stayed in this lovely apartment with friends during a visit to the glorious Christmas Strasbourg markets.
The apartment is not in the Le Klรฉber Hรดtel itself, but on the 3rd floor in a building around the corner, less than a minute's walk away. It commands a stunning view out over Place Klรฉber - where one of the main Christmas markets is held - and also overlooks the L'Homme de Fer tram stop (which is a 7 minute ride on Tram A from Gare Centrale). There is no dedicated hotel parking: for most of the year you can park in underground parking beneath Place Klรฉber, but this is closed for security reasons during the Christmas markets (park at P2 Sebastopol)
The building has a lift, so access is not a problem even if you have limited mobility or are carrying heavy luggage.
The apartment is lovely, and offers absolutely everything you could want during your stay. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge which would allow you to fully self-cater. We decided to make our own breakfasts (with delicious croissants, pain au chocolates and pretzels from a choice of two excellent bakeries on Place de l'Homme de Fer) and ate out at restaurants. If you're visiting at Christmas, the Christmas markets offer loads of tempting calorific food made using delicious local ingredients such as cheeses and cured meats.
There are two bedrooms which have external blinds that you can lower (always a bonus if you're light sensitive). There is a large bathroom with shower as well as a separate toilet. The open plan kitchen-lounge arrangement is convivial and spacious enough to accommodate a breakfast bar, proper dining table, sofa and arm chairs so even you have enough space that you won't be under each other's feet.
Everything about this apartment was perfect for us. Our only slight quibble is that the design means that the bathroom floor has two levels, so it is easy to trip.

The hotel itself is lovely. The rooms are very unique and the decor suits the building they are in. The bed was super comfy and it was a lovely authentic stay.
They could have provided a bottle of water for the guests in the bedroom instead of having to buy one and the hot water settings are a bit too tricky to get to work.

When traveling in Europe, itโs important to be open-minded and appreciate what each place has to offer rather than comparing it to modern hotel buildings elsewhere. Hรดtel Le Klรฉber is perfectly located in the heart of all the attractions, and we truly enjoyed our stay.
Those who are claustrophobic may find the elevator quite small.

The best thing this property has going for it is the location. It is facing Kleber Square. The front desk staff was also friendly.
This property had many issues. The rooms are very small (even by European standards) and untastefully decorated. The bed was also a full at best, pillows were uncomfortable, and the linens weren't great. The bathroom was also very, very small. We travel a lot to Europe, and this was probably the smallest we've seen. Aside from the room issues, our biggest issue was the noise and the building movement. I'm unsure if the hotel is situated over the top of a subway, but the whole building would shake for 10-15 seconds, every 15 minutes, all day and night. It was disruptive to say the least. The hotel also didn't have secure luggage storage. At best, this felt like a hostel more than a '3' star property.

The room was extremely smallโwe had to lift our suitcase over the bed just to get to the other side. It was very noisy throughout the night with constant tram noise, dogs barking, and people yelling. The orange walls were unpleasant, and overall it was not a comfortable stay. We would not stay here again.

Unfortunately the pillows were poor having to ask for some more. Breakfast was slightly disappointing. We did go later but not much of a selection. It seems level 3 needs attention. Looks tired and needs a paint. The levels below look like they have been decorated recently. I know it is peak season but the cost of the room for what we got seemed overpriced. Corner room very noisey couldnโt use ear plugs as they wouldnโt stay in. Shutters wouldnโt shut so couldnโt stop some of the noises coming in. Unfortunately thereโs nothing the hotel can do about outside noise.

The location being steps away from the main Christmas market was great. It was very easy to walk everywhere and is conveniently next to a couple tram stops. The hotel breakfast was simple, but good, and the windows overlook the square. The rooms are all themed, which was a cute touch.

Sink design looks ok but sink doesn't drain that well. Location is great: 10-15 min walk to Petit Paris, same to the cathedral and about 20 mins to the railway station (or take a tram. Stops 20 meters from hotel). Plenty of options for food etc. close by. We tried Au Gutenberg close to the cathedral: ok but a bit expensive. Tonnneau 5 mins from hotel: good food and excellent value. Le Clou also close to cathedral: good traditional food and good value. The Drunky Stork Social Club: 10 mins from hotel and a curious place. Great design, interesting food options, good drinks menu, good value - loved it.
Breakfast at the hotel is ok, but space a bit cramped and get there early, otherwise things run out.

The hotel location was central. Most everything we wanted to see was within a 25 minute walk. The local restaurants were good and we were within minutes of the Cathedral.
The square can be noisy. There were protests and the occasional drunk we could hear from our room. With the windows closed it could be managed.
